I can't belive you guys are sucking me back in with this.
The above statements are simply not true.
DVC has no idea how much someone rents for nor do they care. It is my belief that the use of the word "commercial" has far more to do with HOW the points are used than the price received for rentals. Point morphers, large volume renters, spec. bookers, etc.
There has also been no enforcement that we've heard of or that I'm aware of. Sure some Ebay listings were removed, so we've heard, but those were due to Copyright violations not rental enforcement.
Fact reamins that if DVC can rent so can we.
OP, I'd recommend Spec. booking prime weeks on Ebay. Actually book 6 days avoiding one of the weekend nights. Charge a total price for the reservation, not by the point. Do a direct comparison to the rack rate for the same room through Disney direct (CRO). You can EASILY get $14 per point this way and the renter still gets a deal. Do not use any Copyrighted photos or any other copyrighted material. Make the pre-booked ressie in your name originally and then switch it you your renters name later. Be sure to get all names and addresses of those staying in that room.
Good luck, I'm sure you'll do fine.
