How do ticket increases impact multi-day tickets?

I've done some searching and can't seem to find anything on this. How does the price increases historically impact multi day tickets? I found stats on the 1 park admission increases, but can't seem to find anything that would help me compare the increases in multi-day tickets.

My son is 8 and I'm was wondering whether it would be worthwhile to buy a 10 day hopper with no expiration for him. My understanding is that the ticket remains good for his use even if he exceeds the age for it before it is used up, correct? We travel to WDW and use five or six days of tickets each year.

Just can't figure out if the savings would be worth buying it ahead. Cheshire Figment or other ticket experts...can you enlighten me?

Thanks!

1. The prices nearly always go up.

3. If he can use such a ticket, you certainly can buy one.

4. Yes, HOWEVER...

5. Non-expiring tickets are generally NOT a good deal financially if you need 5 or more park days per trip.
Adding the Hopper option can mitigate that a bit, but not much.

2. If you really want to spend way too much time researching this...
Here's a link to WDW TICKET HISTORY.

Also, know that CHILD tickets purchased, held, and not used until after a child becomes a (Disney) adult are NOT
subject to "free upgrade" to adult.
You must pay the difference of what you originally paid for the child ticket, and the new current adult price.
Zero savings.

Ah, OK...that's exactly what I needed to know. I was just wondering if getting one before the non-expiring option goes away might be financially advantageous vs. paying for an adult ticket in a few years.

Thanks so much Robo...as always, you are the man!
