How do I shrink a pair of jeans?

I bought a pair of pants yesterday, but they're too big in the thighs/calfs, and a little bit too big in the waist. How do I shrink them? Hot water?

Can you sew? Just get the machine out and put a small dart in each side of the waistband. As for the legs being too baggy, unless you want to zip up the entire inseam with the machine, there isn't much you can do.
You might just want to go shopping again and find a smaller pair.

It's really hard to shrink jeans, trust me I've tried. Either take it to a tailor or go get another pair.

I'm sorry, I know that isn't the answer you are looking for but it seems like my jeans only shrink over time , and it is usually due to weight gain even though I would like to think otherwise.
