How did you meet your DH?

I know what you mean about restarting a love life. I lost my first husband when I was 30. We were together 8years three of them married. Anyway I couldn't do the bar scene where I met the first one by the way. I tried but it wasn't me anymore. Friend tried to set me up that was a disaster and then it made it ackward when I saw my friend again. So someone suggested Video dating or dating service. I went to the single dances they had but my video got picked by someone and we dated and now are married 12 years this year. A happy ending. It was safe at the beginng because you met in a public place and it is set up by the service last names and address weren't given.

Well since I don't have a DH, I can say how I met my dbf (he's 'the one'). I actually met him through a friend of mine when we were both 16 and we became good friends before taking it to the next level (last summer) and I thank God every day that I have him in my life. Before either one of us knew the feelings we had for eachother, I always thought how great it would be if we were together and boy was I right.

Our first date was in downtown Princeton and we got ice cream and walked around and talked and had a great time. We then saw "Charlie and the chocolate factory" and I could feel the vibe between us..I'll never forget that feeling. We then just sat in my car on a side street in Princeton until 5 am and talked and shared our first kiss. I still get the butterflies when I see him and when he calls or when I think about him. Love is the greatest thing anyone can have, and I'm lucky to have found it. :goodvibes

I'm taking him to Philly for the weekend to surprise him for his birthday! :cool1:

We met on a blind date set-up by my friend's boyfriend (whom I didn't know lol met him once)... We will be together 6 years next month.

A bit interesting fact:
I was not at all attracted to him at the time, he was not at all my type looks wise (long died hair 3 colors at that orange being one of them, he aslo had a facial peircing I believe it is called a labrae) my friend whispered "give him a chance" and I am so glad I listened to her because my life wouldn't be nearly as great as it has been since.

I was working in a Fotomat store (Remember those?). My store however was a store front, not the little building in the middle of a parking lot. I was running late for my shift and I walked in an there was a man (DH) blocking my way to get behind the counter. I very nicely asked him to move so I could get behind the counter. He gave me that look that men do, the head to toe and back again look. And said, "Hi, my name is ... I am going to marry you!" I looked at him and told him to get the h*** out of my way. He just stood there. Finally he moved and I just turned my back to him. I guess he did not get the message because he found out what my shift was and he was there every day that I worked. Yes, he was stalking me. Kept asking me out, so after about 3 months of this I agreed to go out with him, but only if my friend could go with us, I was going to play it safe. We have been together every day since then. That was 23 years ago!

Dh & I met at work. I was a hostess in a restaurant & he was a new waiter. The waitstaff had to train on the hostess stand to learn the table numbers & how the restaurant ran. I will never forget turning around to met my new trainee & looking into the most incredible blue eyes I have ever seen. Corny as it sounds, I knew right away this was someone special.

Been married 10 years (dated for 2) as of last November & we have 2 beautiful little girls. Now I have 3 pairs of those incredible blue eyes to look at every day. :lovestruc

My Dh nearly poked my eye out with a paper airplane during study hall way back in 1982!!!! On the airplane, he wrote he thought I was cute and wanted to hang out!!!!!We've been hanging ever since!!!! :thumbsup2

We met through a friend. Did I mention she was dating him? Oops, me bad. :p We've been together 25 years now.

I was at work for a 4 hour shift, filling in for someone as a favor. A colleague called, asking t=for the phone number of another one of our co-workers, who wasn't very well-liked. I jokingly said "What do you want her phone number for?" and my colleague told me that she had a single guy coming to her house that evening, and she wanted to invite our other co-worker over to meet him. So I asked her if I was chopped liver or something, and why wasn't she inviting me instead? She laughed and said "OK, you come instead...I promised him a girl, I didn't promise him who". So I went, and the guy was my DH!!!!

DH and I met while working on a political campaign. Our candidate lost, but we won :)

Congrats to you!

I met DH on a blind date; we've been married 21 years.

My DH ran me over with his bike! :moped: :rotfl:

I was walking with a new friend on campus a few weeks into my freshman year at college when my DH came down a little bit of an incline on his bike from behind us and almost ran us over. He had met my friend before so he ended up walking with us for a little while. At first I was not impressed and I actually thought he was a little rude for almost running us over but he just kept talking to me and the rest is history. He later admitted that the bike thing was a little precalculated. He saw my red hair and wanted to meet me so staging an almost "accident" was his plan. :) :goodvibes

I met my DH in college. He was younger than me and silly and I completely dismissed him as anything but a friend. He brought me a Calvin and Hobbes book when I had my wisdom teeth out and later took me to see The Little Mermaid. He was a sweet guy, but I couldn't take him seriously.

A year later, he got better grades than me in a few business classes and helped me understand a finance class that had me near tears -- and all of a sudden didn't seem quite so silly anymore.

We've been married for 15 fabulous years. :cool1:

Sometimes there are true gems hiding behind the goofy facade.

Match.com! :thumbsup2

I am not the bar-going type of girl, especially when you find yourself single for the first time at 35 (I married my ex when I was 18). It seemed the best, safest way to meet someone.

We married three months after we met and are fixing to celebrate our third anniversary!

One of my good GF (her mom and mine are friends and we known each other since high school) set me up with her live-in Boy Friend's best friend, NYE '92. A total Blind date. I didn't not think anything serious would happen, I just wanted to have fun and go out. I was just home for the holiday (GF and I were even Nannies next door to each other for a few years) to visit family and friends.

We have been together ever since and just celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary a while ago. :cheer2:

I met my husband at a fourth of July party. We kind of clicked and hit it off from the beginning and were married 6 weeks later. Been together for 32 years now.

I met my DH when we both worked at a theatre. He was my boss and I was quickly moved to another crew once we started dating. He told me that he never wanted to be my boss again!! That was 6 years ago and we are as happy now as we were then. Maybe even happier!

Wonderful thread. It is bringing a smile to my face.

Well we're not married yet, but we met on yahoo dating.
