How did you meet your DH?

My friend Kerry and I were down the shore-Seaside Heights, NJ- and we didn't have any place to stay, we had been drinking and needed to use the restroom, but the ones on the boardwalk were locked.
We saw DH driving down Atlantic Ave in his brand new Mustang and Kerry said There's Jimmy(she was friends with him, I didn't know him, except by sight), go ask him if he has a room. So we ran up to his car and said we need a bathroom, do you have a room? He says sure, follow me.
He made us jog after his car--there was lots of traffic, people cruising up and down, so at least he wasn't going fast. I still never let him forget that. LOL

He had a girl in his car,(friend from work) but soon left her to hang out with us. I kept telling my friend that he was really cute and she should go for him, she said that they were too good of friends, so I swooped in.

He and his friends let us stay in their room and Jim and I stayed up all night talking..and kissing. ;)

Left the next morning, said goodbye, we both drove home, that was that..and then I called him the next day, first time ever being the one who made the move. I always let them come to me. LOL
Since that day we have been inseperable.
We met May of 1990, engaged May 1991, married October 1992. :cloud9:

Met my dh of 10 years while I was living in upstate NY and he was visiting his best friend who was attending the university there. They are from Nebraska. I was with my girlfriends at our usual country dance bar and dh and his 2 friends were there. We took a look at them and said "Now, there are some real cowboys!"

1200 miles and 11 months later, we were married and you can see where I live :rotfl2: :goodvibes

We met at work driving school buses. He was in a group I hung around with. We would meet for breakfast every morning and sometimes go out bowling or other places. We started out as just friends than it blossomed to love. :lovestruc

Our first date was in downtown Princeton and we got ice cream and walked around and talked and had a great time. We then saw "Charlie and the chocolate factory" and I could feel the vibe between us..I'll never forget that feeling. We then just sat in my car on a side street in Princeton until 5 am and talked and shared our first kiss. I still get the butterflies when I see him and when he calls or when I think about him. Love is the greatest thing anyone can have, and I'm lucky to have found it. :goodvibes

Tim ... so cute. Was it T Sweets or Halo Pub?

Met DH in a BAR :drinking1 in Harvard Square, Cambridge, MA. YUP ::yes:: , 1979 Sept. had just broken up with what I thought was my soul mate after 5 incredible years!!! WE JUST BROKE UP :sad2: ! Weeks later my girl friends all took me to this BAR called Jonathan Swifts and sitting there was DH. We got to talking and IT JUST HAPPENED.....and now we have been happily married 25 years OCT 2005 :bride: :groom: !!!!

He asked me to marry him :love2: that Xmas 1979. Married Oct 1980 and MY FIRST TRIP EVER IN MY LIFE both on a plane and to WALT DISNEY WORLD!!!! :woohoo:

My first husband.....I participated in a camp for adults (best way I can describe it) at the Dolphin Research Center in the Florida Keys. Part of our week was to be involved with the rescue unit. Fate brought a stranded pygmy sperm whale. My X and I spent several nights, alone, in the lagoon, under the stars keeping this baby whale floating. We fell in love. Ah but it wasn't met to be.

My DH....the story isn't quite so exciting.....we worked together. I didn't even like him much when I met him. When my X and I seperated my DH was there for me. He was a great friend. He turned into so much more and I'm so thankful to have him.

So this thread has significantly brightened my mood!! :dogdance: So nice to hear about some happy stories dealing with relationships! ;)

I met my DH thru my best friend and her boyfriend. They were already friends with him and invited us both to go out with them, but not as a date. It ended up being a date by the end of the night because we really hit it off. We were 19 when we met, got married at 20 and have been together since-13 years :)

I met DH in a bar, in South Bend (I am from Chicago) was in town for a wedding. We were told to go to this one bar and my friend and I did. We wound up upstairs playing pool and chatting. Well DH was 2 pool tables over and after I got through checking out this other guy (I did-did not even notice Corey at first) he started chatting me up..he was a little obnoxious (which I like) and I gave him my info. He called me when I got back home and within 6 weeks (despite attempts on both are parts to keep it "light" we were traveling back and forth every weekend) we both just "knew" got engaged in Sept married in Oct the next year. I am still pretty crazy about him.

My brother and I both met our spouses on blind dates ... fix-ups by our best friends. We also both married less than a year after meeting, and this year dh and I will celebrate 15 years, bro & sil will be married 12 years. :teeth:

We met at work. I had just graduated from college was was working as a temp until I found something permanent. He was the accounting mgr and I was helping out in customer service. After a couple of weeks he asked me out since I was only there as a temp. Well, I ended up getting a full time job there and stayed for 5 years and we have been married for 14 yrs this Aug.

Good luck on your search.

We met at Easter dinner! While I certainly don't suggest family reunions for meeting your future dates, sometimes your sibling/cousin/nephew will bring a tag-along. :teeth:

I met my DH when I was 17 and went to visit Florida State during November of my senior year of high school. He was a sophomore physics major, and I was looking at the School of Music. My mom had found a church that was having a campus devotional the weekend we were there, so I went, and that is where I met DH. We talked about the school, dorms, general stuff, and exchanged AIM names. When I got back, we kept in touch. In February, I went back to audition for the School of Music. This time, he practically ignored me! I felt bad...but when I got back home, he kept emailing and IMing me. I went to Europe that summer and sent him a couple of postcards. I moved into my dorm in August while he was still away on summer break. He got back just a few days before classes started, and his first day back, he took me grocery shopping after church. Then about a week later, we had our first date! We got married a month after I graduated.

BTW...our third anniversary is Wednesday!

We met at work (we work in different departments). I had just moved back here from Gainesville and took a temporary position that has now turned into a permanent position (and promotions). DH came up one day to meet the "pretty, new girl". Luckily he's not shy (I am) and he asked me out a couple of weeks later. The rest is history. We have been married nearly 7 years now.

We met at an Edwin McCain concert at the House of Blues in DTD on December 29, 2000. I went home and threw up. Mom and I knew there was something different about this one. I called him the next day from under the mistletoe (hence my screenname) in the Osbourne Family lights. We met up and spent the evening with our families at MGM and MK. The next weekend, he drove up for one of my swim meets. As my mom said, "He became an afixture in my spare bedroom and on my couch," from that point forward. We married at Disney on December 29, 2005... Just a few hours shy of 5 years.
