How busy will homecoming week be?

We rescheduled from first week of June to the Homecoming week. We are not going to spend the money on the homecoming events. Usually, this should be a light week, but, when we rescheduled we had to wait list for a week.

Anyone have a feel for how busy things will be that week?

Any strategies to avoid the crowds?

Let me explain something to you. There are about 75,000 members of DVC. How many of those members do you think will come to this event. If there are 100 members with their families I would think this would be a lot, say 300 to 500 people, I doubt there would be more. How much can SSR hold for a get together anyway. Now MK has been known to have 100,000 people just in the park on real busy days, it is very crowded then. Now take the 4 parks, all the resorts, water parks, DD, and other places where you can go at WDW and ask yourself will 300 to 500 people really make a differnce, would 5000 people, would 10,000, the answer is no. The HC event is so small that it will not be noticed by anyone that is going to WDW. If you are staying at SSR then you will notice it, but nowhere else. It is a small drop in the bucket.

First, have a great vacation! We'll be there during that week as well. Won't know till we get there just how crowded it will be; but I do know that many of the DVC rooms are booked -- so I think it will be busy, but exciting. I am thinking that I will try to avoid the parks during the middle of the day.

We'll also be there that week, staying at OKW. Our vacation plans were made before MH came up, and we're not attending any events. Last year we were at OKW at a busy time, and the resort was noticeably busier than usual. When I called in January to add an extra day to our reservation, they were about booked solid. I'm kind of expecting the resort to be rather busy, I'm afraid-I was looking forward to a quieter OKW stay.
