How has your experience been with hotwire? They seem to have the most reasonable rates but I just learned that it is only for 1 driver. I am certain that my husband and i will be sharing the driving. They say that I have to add the second driver at the agency's counter when we get the car and they will give me the rate then. Is this how most on-line bookings work?

For Hotwire/Priceline rentals, pretty much exactly as you described. Expect an additional driver fee around $10/day up to a limit (varies by agency).

I had booked a hotwire car came from Alamo at MCO. The driver would be my son, we did the rental in his name. Of course it was not a Insiders club reservation so no free second driver. At the counter, they just changed the ressie for me as the driver because I would visit friends off site.
