Hotel Royal Plaza distance to DTD

Is this hotel directly across the street from DTD? We want to add a few days to our free dining on the front end and need to get to POFQ. Can we take DME to POFQ 4 days before we check in, take the boat to DTD, and walk to this hotel. Crazy?

I don't know if you can take DME 4 days early. If you can, can't you take it to any disney resort or is it only to the one you have booked? I've never taken it, as it seems to waste time.

You could walk from DTD to Royal Plaza - the website says 0.2 miles, and the front desk told me it's a 10 - 15 minute walk.
A cheap option is to rent a car from the airport for one day, stop for groceries if you need, or whatever, then turn it in at the location in DTD. I believe there are 3 different rental car companies with desks within walking distance to Royal Plaza - they can elaborate if you call them, or mousesavers.com has info.

From Royal Plaza to POFQ, I'd take a cab I think.

Have you looked into a transportation company for one way - about $50? Saves some time. I used *********** the last two trips, and they were great.

I could PM you a link for a good deal that includes the 4th night free plus free breakfast buffet - it was an emailing from mousesavers that isn't available on their website. I got 8 nights in an executive suite plus breakfast for $950 including tax total. Very cool! Only drawback is that you have to pay a one night nonrefundable deposit, but it was worth it to me. The cheapest was $97/night for I guess a standard room (I paid $140 for a 2 room suite) but that includes breakfast for 2 adults and at least 2 kids (I don't know if you can have as many kids as you want) plus your fourth night would be free. So $300 for 4 nights, plus tax. I love a bargain!

I just spent a night at Royal Plaza DTD, I'd say it's a LONG walk.

(and we were there with 4 adults, no kids, and I wouldn't walk it)

It's not too far. But it also depends on where at DTD you want to go. The Marketplace will be closer than the West End.

I don't think you'll be able to get DME. Maybe rent a car from the airport (a company that has an outlet at DD). When you are ready to go to POFQ, you can either get a taxi, or it's an easy walk to the Marketplace and you can get a bus or boat from there. I wouldn't do it with a ton of luggage, though (I'd get a taxi in that case). At some point in the next few months, I'll add a walk with times of the DD area. I doubt it's more than 10 minutes to the Marketplace from the HRP. There is also the Hilton, which is very nice and has EMH.

Probably a good mile ...no, not TOO far, considering how much walking you end up doing while at Disney anyhow...but we were going out to DTD / PI that night and still decided not to walk it if that gives you any indication, and this is with 4 adult men.

I'll check the driving distance if I remember next week - but I would say its more than the .02 miles, less than a mile. But again, it'd depend on where you were walking too as well. Walking from the furthest end of the Marketplace to Cirque would be between a half mile and a mile (I have timed that, though I don't have it in front of me). I really enjoy walking everywhere.
