Can anyone give me some advice please... we have been planning our trip to WDW next November for ages now, and have settled on staying at Cypress Pointe. www.hotelkingdom.com offer a great price on a 2 bed villa ($64 per night).

We are happy to book this, but have read that they ask for 100% of the cost up front and we're a little nervous of parting with over £800. My question is... though I've heard good reports of hotelkingdom, what happens if they go out of business / cease trading... can we get our money back? Obviously if booking in the UK you look for companies which are ABTA bonded (which means you can get your money back)... the hotelkingdom website states

"License and Affiliations: Hotel Kingdom® is a Registered Trademark, which is owned by Discount Hotels America, Inc., a Licensed and Bonded Seller of Travel, Registered with the State of Florida under the name Discount Hotels America, Inc. (Registration #ST-30728). We are also a Proud Member of the Orlando/Orange County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Inc., the Central Florida Better Business Bureau, Orlando."

Does this offer me the same sort of security as booking with a UK company which is ABTA bonded, or alternatively will my UK visa card give me any sort of security?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated... thanks!

I don't know what would happen if they were to go out of business. I can tell you that I used Hoted Kingdom in Jan. of 2003, and did not have any trouble at all. I booked the Hard Rock Hotel at Universal. The hotel was great and loved every minute of it!!

It may be different since you are coming from the UK, but when we used Hotelkingdom.com in November, we only had to pay the first night in full and then about $9.95 for each other night.

Has it changed?

Hotel Kingdom does require full payment for Cypress Pointe. However, they do make the reservation for you and apply the payment within 24 hours of getting your request. So if you are really concerned, go ahead and make the reservation and pay. Then in a week or so, call Cypress Pointe and double check your reservations and make sure payment has been applied. I know that once Hotel Kingdom has made your reservations, you are free to call the hotel at any time. Cypress Pointe may not even be aware that you used HK, but they can tell you what's in their computer and if you have any balance remaining.

I booked Cypress Pointe through Hotelkingdom last month as I got the same great rate you've found. If you're putting it on a credit card, I believe you are somewhat protected in the event they went out of business etc. You could just dispute the charge on your card. I could be wrong.... but that was my way of thinking. They did charge my credit card in full but I was feeling pretty good that my accomodations were paid and I didn't have to worry about it! :~)

Many, many people on the boards have used them with a positive experience. I think we'll be fine.
