Hopping from Fanatsmic to Harmonious advice

We hope to hop from the early showing of Fantasmic at 7:30 to Harmonious at Epcot at 9:30 next Monday 12/12. I have only seen the show once before and need advice on our best move and a plan b and c because I am not sure how much time we will have to stake out a spot and how early crowds settle in. Is there anywhere with decent viewing near the International Gateway entrance that would make this possible and doesnt fill up super early or get really crowded?

Best move as in how to get there? Take the boat. But the line will get long right after the show so hurry.
Walk. If you’re an active person you can get there in time.
Take sky rider.
Getting a viewing spot should not be a problem. You might be a couple rows deep but we’ve found that the show is just enough higher than Illuminations to accommodate for that.

I agree with PP. If there aren't mobility issues in your party, I would walk to Epcot so you don't have to rely on any form of transportation, lines, etc. Second choice would be Skyliner as the line for that certainly moves faster than the line for the boat. Rule of thumb, for us, is to be as close to American Gardens Theater as possible as that's the center point for the show in the WS area with Italy and Japan having the best views, IMHO. If you are getting there late, I would pick any available spot with the least obstructions possible. You may not have a clear view of the "portal", but you should be able to see one of the "tacos".

If you don't mind being off-center, the bridge between United Kingdom and France is nice, and sometimes they open a viewing area just on the France side of the bridge (but it's often closed for private events)

I would walk to the IG then make my way over to Japan for a view that includes the “stargate”

You should have no issues catching both Fantasmic and Harmonious the same night. Japan or the area between the two gift shops toward the entrance to World Showcase are the best viewing areas for Harmonious.
