Homecomin' will be new for us this trip! Best dessert between the hummingbird cake or chocolate pecan pie?? I want both! :confused3

Both are wonderful. The chocolate pecan pie is incredible and chock full of pecans. Would be $ to bake at home so a treat to enjoy in a restaurant. They are known for their hummingbird cake. Also excellent. Both are large portions so easily shareable. Maybe you could share both? Or take portions back to your room for breakfast the next day?

For a short time, they were offering a shareable dessert trio of a one layer hummingbird cake, shine cake and pecan pie with a side of ice cream. Our waitress said this could become a permanent offering as it was so popular. You could ask -- it was a special -- not on the regular menu. All were good, and a great way to try a few things.

Oh, this would be perfect! We will be sure to ask about this. Thanks for the tip!

We have a late night dinner there and I'm totally planning on getting the Hummingbird cake (my favorite) and having it for breakfast the next day. It's vacation after all!

My DD (now 19) never finds it amusing when I comment on how tedious it must be to mash up all those hummingbirds.....🤣🤣🤣 I vote for get both, have a couple of bites of each, and take them to your room for later!

I've also had the shine cake and it was pretty high test. Of course, everyone's tastes are different. I expected boozy and def got my money worth. :faint:

Would stick with the pecan or hummingbird in the future.

Of course, also had one of their shine margaritas at the same sitting and it was a very generous pour of shine. I liked the taste but couldn't finish it as knew I was heading out into the heat for a good walk around the Springs before finding the bus back to my resort. Not a complaint at all but just a little heads up. :)

That hummingbird cake is probably the best and largest piece of cake I've ever had in any restaurant. My guy didn't want to share as he had his own goodie, so I took it back to our campsite at the Fort and ate on it for 3 days! I would have eaten it in one go but for the calories and going full tilt boogie into the gluttony zone lol.
