We've decided to spend 2 weeks at the Holiday Inn Family Suites, can anyone give me the low down on this resort....I.E. is it as good as people have made out in the past....anything to watch out for etc..? This is my first time......(virgin) in Orlando...Have I made the right decision..?

We're staying there in Sept. for 4 days. When are you going? If you go on the "Orlando area resorts and attractions" board, there are lots of threads on this resort. I was a little worried as well, since I had heard both good and bad things, but I'm feeling much better now. Most feedback is positive from what I've seen. If we're there before you, I'll let you know when we get back!

we spent 7 days there in january, we normally stay onsite at either yc or wl or gf suites. the hifs was not as nice or formal as gf but was roomy for a moderate hotel room, we also have stayed at gaylord palms- it just depends what youre use to-

it was clean and people were nice- food was adequate at best
outside rooms- nothing inside at all

theme rooms and have 2 small bedrooms- nothing wrong with it all just not a deluxe resort

It's a fantastic place - my wife and I stayed there in February 2001. We spent a couple of days in one of the sweetheart suites before leaving to spend a couple of days in New Orleans, and then we returned to Orlando to stay in one of the cinema suites for a couple more nights.

Some pictures of the Cinema Suite that I took are available here:

Stayed their twice and enjoyed both visits!

Great pool, friendly staff, clean rooms, and this hotel is totally devoted to children!

You'll love it!

Does the HIFS offer shuttle servcie to the parks? We are taking the train and do not want to get a rental car? We are just starting our planing for June 2004. Thanks

Yes, they do. This is precisely why we went there as we don't drive.
