Holiday Decorations *Photos*

As for the Scrooges who have nothing better to do than make fun of other families decorations, I say get a life! Xmas is the time we can throw all caution to the wind and decorate to our heart's content. The more elaborate and creative, the better!:thumbsup2

Here! Here! Or should it be Cheer! Cheer!:goodvibes

Smallest tree: $45.00
presents under the tree: $65.00
getting to see DH: priceless

After a 20 hour drive from NY to GA (Ft. Benning) last year, I was able to see my DH. It was a short break. My DH drove around at night until he found a place that he could cut a christmas tree. It needed to be small so it could fit in our hotel room. I can't believe the guy charged him so much! He bought ballet tickets to the Nutcracker and wrapped them. lol and he didn't have a tree skirt, so he used his gear. It was the best Christmas ever.

I'm thinking about reposting.

:hug:I am sorry this happened to you. I hate to see anyone get their feelings hurt.:sad2:

 I hope you will repost your picture. I saw it before you removed it, and I thought it was a very festive looking tree. This would be a boring thread if everyone's decorations looked the same. As the saying goes-different strokes for different folks. Bring back your tree! All trees and other decorations are welcome here!

I love seeing everyone's decorations, and the pets are a bonus!:thumbsup2

Love the mickey wreath!!! Thanks for the directions I'm going to try to make one this weekend.

I miss my Maine!

These were taken last Christmas at our house in Maine. We are in Arizona this year, and I do miss certain things about Maine. The snow isn't one of them! I know the snow looks beautiful, but I have to say, I honestly don't miss it!

Here is our tree in '07

Our tree in '08 Not much different than '07, except that we did end up putting tinsel on it.

And...Henry! He's thinking: "Of course, you can leave the room. Of course I won't touch the tree.

In a few weeks I'll post pictures of our house here in Arizona. It's going to look a lot different than snowy New England!

I can't wait to see more...
I just didn't know how I was going to get into the Christmas spirit,
Everyones pictures are helping so much, I'm thinking about starting over the Thanksgiving holidays.
Thanks to you all!

I can't seem to find any old pics of our house. We ran the extension cords and timers for the outside lights yesterday...

I hope to see TONS of posts here! I love looking at what other people do for the holidays.

I shared this pic in another thread, but here it is again. I will post more as I decorate this year...

I really like this room. Colors, oak, furniture, and the tree. Very nice!

I love your MIL's manger scene. I never thought to put ours up over the fireplace. Each year our foster kittens chew on it. It's a running joke in our house, that none of the animals have all of their legs. No more..up on the mantle they go!

I have really enjoyed all of these pictures and it inspired me to get our outside lights up today. It's starting to feel like Christmas. Thanks everyone.

Thanks for the idea!

Just wanted to post and say thanks to Sandra whoever you are. Real classy to send pics of some of our decorations to a website that pokes fun at the way we choose to decorate our houses and our trees. I only post here on the DIS because I like most of the people here and some are very good friends. It's pretty disgusting that someone would copy photos that do not belong to you. I found out about this when a friend from the DIS sent me an email.

About the website, I sent an email requesting the blog owner remove my photos. Their response? Block access to the site except by invitation. Pretty much the reaction that most bullies take- run and hide once they take a pot shot.

Just thought I should drop a note to say that although I share that first name it Definately was not me who did this! :scared1: I'm an absolute Christmas decoration nut myself and I think it's really low to mock people who are sharing the fun of their own Christmas celebrations. Sorry this happened to you!!

Okay - I know I'm supposed to be looking at the decorations, but I love the fireplaces....and my DD would absolutely KILL to have that Mickey wreath!!!!!! :thumbsup2

...my DH and his brother built it...it's nice to have a 'handyman' in the house! ;)

Wow, that's the sweetest Christmas tree & story! Love the camo tree skirt (well, it WAS appropriate for the occasion, right?). And it's one you'll never forget!

...did you set up an account with them?? If you did, and you started uploading your pic on their site, you need to go to one of your particular pix that you want to post and copy and paste the httl address...plus, "
" (without the quotation marks) has to go at the beginning and ending [respectively] of the address....
...you copied and pasted the website...
