On your tool bar there should be this little thing that looks like the back of an airplane. When there is a new DING an envelope will appear. (It is on the bottom right of my screen.) I was able to get a $266.00 voucher yesterday because I had already purchased my tickets.

29. How do I bring up an offer, when I click on an offer or button in DING! nothing happens?

DING! opens the default browser configured on your system when you click on an offer or button that links you to southwest.com. If nothing is happening, it could be that your default browser is not configured to handle Internet Shortcuts properly or you may have a firewall or other security software blocking new browser windows. First verify that your default browser is set up. For Internet Explorer this would be under Tools -> Internet Options on the "Programs" tab. Verify that the box labeled "Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser" is checked. Other browsers will have a similar option. Close (shut down) and Re-open (restart) your browser.

If the problem continues, you may need to verify that your browser is configured to handle Internet Shortcuts. Information regarding Internet Explorer can be found in Microsoft's Support Knowledge Base. If you are using a browser other than Internet Explorer, please see your browser documentation regarding.

Lastly, verify any firewall or other security software is not configured to block applications from opening up browser windows.

I had the same problem for weeks when I first installed Ding.....nothing at all happened when I clicked on the special (or any of the other links). I was lurking on the boards here watching the Dings when someone posted that even if I found a ding here, I wouldn't be able to purchase it without my doing it through my own Ding. I finally called Dell Tech support, and they had me uninstall/re-install my Internet Explorer, and for whatever reason, it worked fine after that. Best of luck!!

EDIT: You might take Samano's suggestion to uninstall and reinstall IE before you do anything else. That would be an easy fix. Make sure you're running a compatible version. Lots of people forget to update.

Why don't you try setting up a backdoor entry? You should have your install id & cksum #s. If not you should be able to get them when you click on update registration. Does that function work? Once you have the link set up you can just open the url in any browser. Here's the link to flyertalk FAQ which gives an explanation.

I would set one up for you but my other computer crashed and I can't download to a linux machine. If you aren't able to get one up and running I'll be glad to help once I get my other computer functioning. This is a week filled with meetings and deadlines so I might be limited to time spent tinkering with the other computer.

Never mind. I found the answer on another thread. You have to copy the activation url and paste it in your browser. I did that and it worked.

What is the activation URL, and where do you paste it? I have gotten to the exact same point as you, before you were able to get it to work. Appreciate your help.
