History of DINGS Fares for Orlando

Are there any Ding fares out of Houston, Hobby? Can I access the fares if I don't have Ding?

DING is a program which notifies users of Southwest Airline special fares. When a new sale starts there is an audible DING alert. You sign up on Southwest's web site, pick a home airport, and hope for a low fare for your travel dates. You cannot access the fares if you do not have DING installed on your computer or have a backdoor access set up.

Ding! 2/15/06 until 6:00PM CST

Baltimore to Orlando $56 each way March 1 thru March 31

Philadelphia to Orlando $56 each way March 1 thru March 31

St. Louis to Orlando $86 each way March 1 thru March 31

I've been watching this for a while but have a quick question. I live in MN, but would be willing to drive to a participating city for the right fare. Which should I put for my airport choice? I could do Omaha, Chicago, St louis, Kansas City. Any thoughts on which would most likely get a lot of ding fares? TIA

I'm not familiar with any of those airports so I don't really keep up with them. If you're just looking for a flight to Orlando then use Orlando as your home airport.

Was the click and save offer above sent via email? I signed up for Southwest's emails yesterday and did not get this. Can you tell me what dates these fares are valid for? If I didn't get the email is there anyway I can access these fares?

I think you can got to SWA main website, www.southwest.com and click on the specials link. this will give you the option to select your city and see the specials. I'm not sure these are the same, but the discounts look the same as the ones I got in my email that I have deleted.

Ya know, last night I dreamed that there was a ST Louis to Orlando ding! But in my dream it was a heck of a llot better than this one! Went to 6/9 and it was $39!

Think I'll go back to bed.

I used Providence as my home airport. I noticed many put in Orlando to get all the flights to and from MCO. Is there a chance/does SW offer a ding fare out of MCO to a destination, but not offer the reverse? I am in Southeastern MA, so PVD is pretty close, but Manchester, NH (don't know the airport code) would work for us, too. Should I change my home to MCO in order to potentially get both PVD and Manchester dings?

I am SO CONFUSED! :confused3

I'm not aware of SWA offering dings only on one way of their trips. I'm kinda of like you. If the price is right with SWA, I would consider any of three possible airports (Indy, Louisville and Nashville). For my ding, I have Orlando as my home city because I want to get the specials for each of these cities. I also have a backdoor setup to check four SWA backdoors at once and there are at times many targeted dings. If you have the option of more than one airport, you may miss something if you don't use Orlando as your home city. This also pressumes that you don't care about flying anywhere else sinc you will only see the specials coming/going to MCO.
