Hillary Supporters unite part 2; no bashing please

The thing about the Kennedy's is while they were practicing Catholics, they were immoral in many ways. As they say, go to church on Sunday sin on Monday. Remember Chapoquittick, JFK's affairs andTeddy's boozing and running around just to name a few.

I really don't think Obama is as religous as he would like people to believe. How could he be and still support partial birth abortions? Just look up Jill Stanek and her battle with Obama.

On the new thread, since this is thread #2, why not just make it thread #3.

Totally agree with that statement. He used Trinity Church for political reasons - I think even Rev. Wright stated that. I honestly don't think Obama is concerned with religion at all.
Wonder how the OS will take it if Obama looses.....we were upset but life went on. So many OS are so Obamaized that that many may go into a state of depression:scared: They will be overly overly sad
I think it will be complete and utter chaos by the supporters should he lose. I’m not as sure about depression as I am about extreme anger and lots of screaming about unfairness. Hopefully no riots.

I really don't know how Obama can stand in front of that monstrosity and say with a straight face..... "With all humility"

:confused3 I'm still getting over the fact that he just walked out on stage. I honestly thought he'd raise up from the floor or something - like some showy rock star at a concert might.

My DH and I just had a huge chuckle - I haven't seen this before! What a riot!

considering that I really can't stand Hillary OR Obama...I was far more impressed with Hillary through this convention than Obama. Once again he said....nothing.

At least Hillary towed the line and did what was asked of her with as much grace as she could muster. I think the democrats really blew any chance of gaining the white house by nominating Obama over Hillary. I have every confidence we will see her in 2012 running with little opposition, even if Obama were to pull out a victory in November. I think she'll be able to easily take him out of the oval office after a single term if she desires to do so.

I will say that I really had expected something more dramatic from her in the way of holding out for that nomination as long as possible. Would have made for a really exciting in an otherwise pretty subdued DNC.

Eh, the Clintons are extremely loyal to the party. No matter how badly they want something, they will not hurt the party.

I'm glad that you guys want to keep this going even though Hillary is done. I enjoy chatting with you and would hate to stop.

I don't know about the name though. It needs to be something clever.

Yeah, but I really don't get why they remain loyal to a party that so blatently turned their back on her. It has been obvious since Kerry's nomination that she was being groomed as the next candidate.

Not only that, but I haven't ever really seen the Clintons act in any way that wasn't in the CLINTON's best interest, not necessarily the party.

Obama's people either love him or hate him. Hillary was able to neutralize the more central democrats, and (I think) appealed to the greater masses.

I still think the dems completely missed the boat on this nomination.

Well, now you might have. :)

They could have just ignored the whole thing or they could have endorsed Obama without the rousing speeches. Bill in particular went all out.

I don't see anything selfish in this personally.

I meant before this. I fully agree that Hillary did a great job at least giving pretense that she wanted to rally people behind Obama. I'm not convinced that she truly believes in her heart that he's the right candidate, but she at least made most of the delegates (Bill too) feel that it was the right thing to do.

I give her kudos for showing grace under adverse circumstances.

After Hillary's speech this week, Obama had ALOT to live up too. He didnt.

The video before his entrance was good:thumbsup2

This wasnt Obamas finest hour, by a long shot. Even I was HOPEing for more OOPMH! He spoke to his devotees, and them only tonight. He didnt speak to any GOP or Independants.
He was wayyyyyyyyyyy to pickle puss & mad throughout the whole speech. And again a laundry list of everything the GOP did wrong.

AND WHY DID HE WEAR A REPUBLICAN RED tie?????:confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Well... there's a couple of us on here that will be voting for Obama and I want them to continue to feel welcome in this thread.

Then again... there's a few people I wouldn't mind keeping out of this thread and maybe one of your little thread titles would dissway them from posting on here....

Eh, probably not.

How about "Hillary for president 2012" for a thread name?

Also on Obama's speach. I wasn't feeling the love. All his promises, how on earth does he really expect to follow thru? I'm surprised he didn't promise to part the sea too. I turned the TV off before he had his final words, I heard enough. I really have to wonder if Obama will result in higher taxes and more welfare type programs.

Did anyone see the clips of Oprah this morning? She cryed her fake eyelashes off during Obama's speach last night. She must have drank a lot of koolaid before the speech.

That is a very valid question and one of my top concerns about Obama. He can give pretty speeches but if you go and research him, he's reallly bad about following through. For all of the promises he makes, he will have to raise taxes - not cut them. His approach ... well.. that's the thing. He doesn't have a realistic plan to what he promises. That's why his speeches contain very little substance.

Honestly, I would love to be on the Obama bandwagon. Seriously, I would. But I know too much about this man now. I know that he won't follow through - his past actions speak loudly of this.

I'm not on the Obama Train, but I am holding my nose to vote for him to protect the Supreme Court. I don't like him personally at all. One of the planks of the Republican Platform is to make all abortion choices illegal, period. And with a Supreme Court majority, they could make that, and a lot of other rights we take for granted, disappear. Remember, several Liberal judges are elderly and in poor health. It is doubtful they could hold out another 4 years.

I see McCain has named a woman VP, no doubt trying to get Hillary supporters to vote for a female VP. Someone needs to tell him that we supported Hillary not because she was a woman, but because she was, in our opinion, the best candidate. Palin is ultra-conservative, the exact opposite of Hillary on the issues that matter.

I still look at Obama and McCain and wonder what the power-holders in the respective parties were thinking by nominating these two.

I totally agree here.

The parties do have so few people to choose from to nominate. Nowadays all these politicians have serious baggage, so you have to choose ones that have "reasonable baggage" and they also need to be very wealthy themselves to get through the primaries. Look at how Dodd, Biden and eventually Richardson had to jump ship early due to lack of funding.

This election - I have to vote the issues - because we're so close to losing some of our existing rights. Having Obama in there, along with a democratic congress, will finally allow a lot of positive agenda to move forward - the top two being STEM CELL RESEARCH and PULLING OUT OF IRAQ.

Not to mention raising minimum wage, getting closer to universal health care, rebuilding the military, rebuilding FEMA.
