Hillary Supporters unite part 2; no bashing please

I totally agree here.

The parties do have so few people to choose from to nominate. Nowadays all these politicians have serious baggage, so you have to choose ones that have "reasonable baggage" and they also need to be very wealthy themselves to get through the primaries. Look at how Dodd, Biden and eventually Richardson had to jump ship early due to lack of funding.

This election - I have to vote the issues - because we're so close to losing some of our existing rights. Having Obama in there, along with a democratic congress, will finally allow a lot of positive agenda to move forward - the top two being STEM CELL RESEARCH and PULLING OUT OF IRAQ.

Not to mention raising minimum wage, getting closer to universal health care, rebuilding the military, rebuilding FEMA.

But when it comes to stem cell research McCain and Obama have the EXACT opinions on that issue.

I was for Hillary UHC, McCain's health care reform is a joke (I will admit that) but Obama's is a joke also. Just making sure children are covered is NOT going to solve the health care crisis in our Country. We need total health care where EVERYONE, not just kids, can get afforable health care.
There are just way too many flaws in Obama's plan to make me support his health care reform and IMO health care will not be any different in 4 years then it is right now.

Today, after finding out about McCains VP choice, I'm more upset, more angry than ever at BO for not picking Hillary.

Yeah, but the "prize" for the winning party is still the Supreme Court. I think the parties really could care less just "who" the President is, but they want control of the Court. Both parties picked candidates that the higher powers within each party feel they can control and mold into their own likeness from behind the scenes. Puppets on a string, just like Bush.

Also, McCain and Obama are currently pretty similar to their stance on the Iraq war. And, I think everyone on here knows about my stance on abortion so that's not a concern for me on McCain's VP pick. I need to go and do some research on Palin. Everyone who has been researching her has some great things to say (with the exception of a couple of lib’s that never have anything good to say unless their speaking of Obama )

As most of have said we picked Hillary due to her experience not because she was a woman. For us woman however a woman would also be a bonus.

I think it was a smart move for McCain to pick a woman who is young and also will put at ease that McCain is against all women's rights.

I will be watching him more closely at this time and also his VP pick. No doubt that she will get her but kicked during the VP debate but it will be all to interesting to see how this all unfolds

Since I'm not around much my two cents may not matter. I understand that. I'm not real comfortable with the Love Train title. I come to this thread to see friends that I made during the primary. Our bond had everything to do with Hillary and not much to do with Obama, in my way of looking at it.

I may well be voting for Obama. I don't like him. I don't trust him. I don't like his wife. I keep hoping that something will cause me to find a side of him that makes me want to give him my vote. I do like some of what he says in his speeches. I hope he'll be able to follow through with some of his promises, but given his history I'm not counting on it. I just don't see him getting much done. Let's just hope if he wins that he'll surround himself with people who know what they're doing and I pray that he'll listen to them. I do like Biden as a person. I don't know much about his politics, but hopefully I'll like what I see.

I just can't bring myself to vote for McCain. I like him as a person if I can ignore his anger issues. But I don't have much faith in his health or his memory. I think he's aligning himself too closely with GW for my comfort. So I guess it's coming down to the issues with me. I'd rather have a Democrat in office who believes in what I believe in, even if he isn't very effective than have a Republican who I'm pretty sure will bring more of the same. I guess I'm leaning towards choosing ineffective and holding ground over offensive and losing more ground. And I'll pray for 4 years that his ineffectiveness won't keep us from electing another Democrat next election. (cough, cough - Hillary)

I may change my mind. November isn't here yet. I want to hear the debates. But this is the way I'm leaning. Somehow the Love Train title makes me a little uncomfortable. Just because I'm thinking I may vote for him doesn't mean I've joined those that seem to worship him. Don't get me wrong, I'm not upset by the suggestion. It's just not where I think this whole group is at the moment.

I hear you about the health care plan - but chances are it won't be his that passes away. Congress will get their hands on it - and add (or subtract) from his...... we've got Hillary and even Kennedy in the Senate to try to make the necessary changes.......

Obama’s running scared on this Ayers connection hitting mainstream. First was the released ad, which was factual, from the American Issues Project and showed the Obama-Ayers connection. I’ve done enough digging on the Ayers-Obama connection to know that the ad barley touched on the relationship – the ad could have gone much deeper. Obama flipped. His campaign sent out documents to the media outlets demanding the ad not be aired. Everything said in the ad can be backed up. It’s factual. Obama is now asking the Department of Justice to open a criminal investigation to stop the ad. Why so scared Obama? I guess because these are facts that can’t be dismissed and you don’t want the average American to know about it?

The other day on the WGN radio talk show with host Milt Rosenberg, they had Dr. Stanly Kurtz as a guest. Dr. Kurtz is the guy going through the Anneberg Challenge (CAC) files from the University of Illinois at Chicago. These are the documents that recently hit news because the University extended the offer to allow Dr. Kurtz to view them and then took back that offer. Finally, after weeks, he’s been allowed access to the files. What’s important about this is that it was started by William Ayers and he appointed Obama as chair for it. Dr. Kurtz is researching the Obama-Ayers relationship and is currently focusing on the $160 million six year long CAC from 1995 – 2001.

WGN invited Obama’s campaign to the show since the topic would be about the Anneberg files. Obama’s campaign refused. Instead they sent out an e-mail to supporters telling the supporters to call the station in protest. WGN’s phone lines and e-mail was “swamped with abuse” and Milt Rosenberg, who is noted as never being overtly partisan, was described as stunned by the hostility they were receiving. The OS were accusing Milt Rosenberg of “smearing” Obama’s name and accused Kurtz of lying. However, since they were only using the Obama’s campaign talking points and didn’t really know what this was about, when pressed for specifics – they had none to give. They just kept the phone lines jammed for at least an hour with hate.

So, yes, Obama doesn’t want you to know that he’s had a relationship with William Ayers and can be tied back to 1988 and that Ayers is one of the people who have helped him to climb this political ladder of his.

On other news: Some PUMA’s were approached the other night in Denver by a group trying to get more people to register to vote for the November election. Nice – right? Get more people to vote and become active in politics? The only thing: they didn’t care where these people they were trying to register were from. Unless they were citizens of Denver, they were not legally allowed to register to vote for Denver. So, there were people out trying to get everyone there for the convention to register to vote in Denver. The PUMA’s asked where the registration forms were being sent to and the group replied: MoveOn.Org.

I heard, I want to say it’s Pittsburg – but I could be wrong on the city – I need to go and look it up – they’ve realized that due to voter fraud they have more people currently registered in their city to vote than they actually have living in their city. I head that it was several thousand over… not just a few. They’re currently having to take the time to sort through the voter registrations.

I like our group... we're moving in different directions right now but we are all Hillary supporters first. She was our first choice and since she's no longer in the picture we have to make our next choice that is best for us.

I am somewhat familiar with her from hearing on news reports the last year or so about how much she has accomplished for Alaska.

Yes she is more conservative and is PRO-Abortion but so are sooooooooooo many DEMS...so I dont include that. She is against gay marriage(as Obama) but she is for gay rights as for same sex benefits just as Obama. She has no problem saying " I may not believe in it but it is not all about me" she has no problem leaning more Independent when needed .

GEE it is so interesting how us HS(who has been said are not needed to win) are in such demand I dont think i have ever been so courted in my life. Must make Hillary so proud to see this.

That is so true. I have nothing against anyone that has chose Obama or anyone that has switched to McCain and feel no pressure from anyone here to sway me either way being I am undecided

even when I visit the Cons thread they dont try to persuade me either way either. They know I am undecided and they say nothing to me to push me there way. And even if I chose Obama they would still be friends with me.

The OS in there threads are different but the tension between all of us from when we were all in the Liberal thread and we started to be attacked for being HS and how could we not be OS has continued to this day.

And I expect it to continue. Unless we decide to back Obama and join there thread than we will become there bestest friends ever

McCain is 72 years old, at that age it is important who he picks for VP. I am not impressed by Palin's experience. Just because she is a woman does does not sway me towards voting for her.

For those familiar with it, the Alaskan poitical landscape is full of the bodies of opponents of Palin who walked into debates with her assuming she was an inexperienced lightwieght. So I'm actually looking forward to the image of an attractive young (and gun-carrying) mother up on the stage against a gray-haired, 40-year Washington insider - who has the reputation of quickly getting nasty (which will come off real well, just like when Lazio did when he was rude to Hillary in debates with her back in 2000).

I'd agree if they were stating it the way you are. But what I'm reading is not comments about the Conservatives hypocrisy in backing an inexperieced VP.

What I'm reading is comments such as "It's scary to have someone so inexperienced so close to the presidency" Or "it worries me that she has no qualifications to be VP". This coming from people who have no problen with inexperience or qualifications for the persidential candidate. People who in fact have said that Obama's inexperience is an asset.
