Poll: Race for White House tied

It's a dead heat in the race for the White House.

The first national poll conducted after Barack Obama publicly named Joe Biden as his running mate suggests that the battle for the presidency between the Illinois senator and John McCain is all tied up.

In a new CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll released Sunday night, 47 percent of those questioned are backing Obama, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominees, with an equal amount supporting his Republican opponent, McCain.

"This looks like a step backward for Obama, who had a 51 to 44 percent advantage last month," said CNN Polling Director Keating Holland. "Even last week, just before his choice of Joe Biden as his running mate became known, most polls tended to show Obama with a single-digit advantage over McCain."

Stephanopoulos: No Roll Call Vote for Clinton? :scared1:

ABC News' Nitya Venkataraman reports: After former rivals Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. Hillary Clinton worked to broker a deal where Clinton's name would be placed into nomination alongside Obama's at the Democratic convention, speculation swirls in Denver that Clinton insiders may be willing to accept no roll-call vote, fearing the blame of disrupting the party's efforts at unity.

ABC News' Chief Washington correspondent George Stephanopoulos says no decisions have yet been made, but that the state-by-state vote faces the possibility of elimination in favor of Obama's nomination "by acclamation."

"The whole idea of a roll call vote could be in flux at this point," Stephanopoulos told ABC's Charles Gibson on World News Sunday night.

"The Clinton people here, they've said they wanted catharsis, they wanted that roll call, but they may not get it," Stephanopoulos said, describing the decision as one being discussed at the highest levels of Clinton's camp. "They don't want to be blamed for any trouble at this convention."

 :sad2:  :sad2:  :sad2:

Hillary needs to get as far away as possible from Obama because she will continue to be blamed for all he does , or does not do.....she is the DEMS scape goat for Obama. :sad2:

They (Fox) were just talking and interviewing Hillary delegates (not SD) that are planning on voting for McCain. Wonder how many of her Delegates have switched to him. Wonder how many Hillary SD wish they could do the same undercover.....even though they are true Dems who to say at election time some SD wont secretly pull for McCain..because they fear Obama and are looking out for the country and not the party.

You know, every time I read a post about the ‘bitter’ HS not voting for Obama ‘out of spite’ I just shake my head. When I see them make comments that some of us are refusing to vote for Obama because “our candidate didn’t win the election” I just shake my head. In their ignorance, they just don’t get it.

I’ve yet to meet or read about a single HS who’s not voting for Obama because ‘Hillary didn’t win the nomination’… The people that I have met and have read about that are Hillary supporters who aren’t voting for Obama are refusing do to so because of the blatant corruptness they witnessed in this primary:

-Caucus fraud
-DNC behind close doors for four hours before illegally awarding Obama with some of Hillary’s delegates
-Only punishing the two of the four states for moving the primary up – and those two happened to favor Hillary
-The past few weeks of Obama illegally replacing Hillary delegates with his own
-Severe media bias

The list goes on. Then there’s the corruption about Obama himself surfacing:

-Obama’s lack of accomplishments in his district as Illinois Senator – a two year old is now dead because of Obama’s ‘buddies’ (Rezko isn’t the only Rezko out there) pocketing money and leaving the poor in dilapidated, roach infested buildings without proper plumbing. When confronted with the issue, Obama had to finally admit that “maybe some complaints came into his office – but he wasn’t certain”

(About the two year old – an unstable wall that needed repairs eons ago fell and crushed him as he was riding his tricycle as he mother watched)

-Almost anything that Obama boasts about now as an accomplishment – research it. You’ll find it to be full of corruption.

Let’s see.. the three brothers from Georgia (Palestine) donating over 30 grand to his campaign (they claim they haven’t been refunded. Obama’s campaign claims they have. It’s really hard to figure out which of the two is lying.. but I have an idea…)

-Oh, he takes tons of lobbyist money – he just back doors it in and then gives McCain crap for McCain’s lobbyist ties.

Oh, the Conservs pulled a great article today that’s worth a read:
http://pajamasmedia.com/blog/can-obama-survive-the-annenberg-cover-up/2/

-He took $110 million of charity funds that were to go to help improve public education and instead gave it to William Ayers (you know, the man that he’s “not” friends with) and another guy.

This list can go on.. but I’ll stop here for now.

But those are valid reasons to not want this man in Washington and it has nothing to do with being a sore loser over our chosen candidates loss. When the OS realize that the primary was corrupted, that the DNC favored Obama and ensured he got his place, when they acknowledge that Obama is the one who pulled the race card and slandered the Clintons and at the same time would make comments about Hillary such as ‘well certain times of the month….’ and when they finally stop blaming Hillary for tons of crap she hasn’t done –she’s unfairly being the scapegoat for everything - then, and only then will true healing of the Democratic Party begin.

When the Republicans who hate, hate, hate the Clintons begin speaking up and saying that she was served an extremely low blow by her party – that’s saying something.

So, if Obama fairly has won this primary than George W Bush fairly won the Presidential election of 2000.

But I’m not making my first political post of the day to talk about that. Today I’m here to talk about how gracious Hillary has been though out all of this. When if finally looked like there wasn’t going to be anything fair about this election she admitted defeat, suspended her campaign and graciously threw her support behind Obama for the sake of the party. She asked her supporters to support Obama. She, along with him, threw a fundraiser with her backers to get them to financially support him. She stepped out of the spotlight and allowed him to take center stage while she quietly went back to work at the Senate. She’s been out campaigning for Obama.

Not.Once.Has Hillary whined about stepping down. I can’t say she’s lost until this convention is over since neither she nor Obama got enough delegates from the primaries to be declared the winner. But she’s held her head high and threw her support behind the jerk of her opponent and never said a word. She finally spoke of the sexism that she did have to endure at the end of her race and it was more matter of factly that she spoke about it – she never once whined about it. Obama gave an entire speech about the racism he felt he was enduring during the primaries but I only heard Hillary mention sexism once and she’s still getting reamed for it. And there was sexism – out of Obama’s mouth – out of the meida’s mouth – out of the guy’s mouth that showed up to one of her speeches with a sign that read “Iron My Shirt” while he continuously chanted it over and over… but the media forgot to cover “little” things like that. But I’m certain that had someone shown up to one of Obama’s rallies with a sign that read “Shine My Shoes” it’d be front page news for a week.

So, for those still with me (DISUNC, Moon.. you guys better still be here  ) This is what has royally pissed me off today and got me started.

And this false piece of crap is one reason the Democratic Party will never heal itself – at least not for a long while. It's just pissing the HS off at Obama and the OS even more.

I agree and just commented on that that is not the reason why we are not voting for Obama....on another thread:sad2:

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/08/26/us/politics/26YORK.html

Is this enough for the Hillary haters or does she have to literally lick his butt for them to say she is supporting him?

I'm finding that it will always be Hillary's fault. Always. Never mind that Obama has done nothing to win over the HS. He just told us to "get over it" and that was it. So, since he's told us to get over it and that he doesn't need us, he's washed his hands of all HS and so they're blaming everything on Hillary. Why should any HS listen to Hillary when she tells us to back a jerk who’s basically told us that he doesn't need us?

What they need to do is leave Hillary alone and start calling Obama out. What are you doing, Obama, to win over the HS?

Nothing? Really? Are you going to attempt to do something to win over the HS?

No? Huh?

Ok...Hillary's fault! Let's blame it on her again!

Sadly, they won't listen to you. They won't listen to me. There is a reason why people began saying that the OS were drinking the kool-aid.. they honestly don't see the man's many, many (need I say many?) faults. And it's pretty darn scary.

I like to vent on this message board - get rid of a little steam but I know that I'm preaching to the chior. The ones listening to my posts already know this.

The ones that need to listen either have people like me on ignore or just shake their head at my rants and continue on in their own oblivious little world.

As much as I would love to tell the OS ‘I told you so’… I don’t want to suffer the consequences of an Obama presidency. So I’d rather McCain win it.. let the OS cry foul.. racism.. whatever makes them feel better about their candidate losing.. and then in four years if Hillary doesn’t run again herself – then here’s to hoping that someone experienced and much, much, much less corrupted and who would make a great President runs.

I'm here Dolce, and what can I say :worship:

But of course such a well reasearched and written argument will be ignored by the OS supporters, who hate to have facts getting in the way of their hope and inspitation.

Still, the thruth can't be ignored for much longer....my guess two more months and everything will explode.

Sadly, they won't listen to you. They won't listen to me. There is a reason why people began saying that the OS were drinking the kool-aid.. they honestly don't see the man's many, many (need I say many?) faults. And it's pretty darn scary.

Actually, it was an OS who said that those who just read and don't comment might actually be digesting some of this. I don't know but I do read threads and think about what is said. I find others' viewpoints interesting.

As for HS not voting for Obama out of spite, there is some of that. But there are also those who just plain don't trust Obama. There are those independents who liked Hillary for whatever reason and have never warmed up to Obama. It's silly to assume that all people who have switched to McCain or plan to sit this one out are only doing so just to spite Obama. Obama and Hillary may be close when it comes to many viewpoints but they're not clones so I see no reason why anyone should support one just because they supported the other.

Besides I saw plenty of OS go on and on about how horrible Hillary is. If they are so similar why did so many OS dislike Hillary so much and why is that OK?

I'll be glad when all of this is over with. I want to hear Hillary's speech and I want to know who McCain's running mate is and then I think I'll be done with the conventions.

Ridiculous. I'd like to see the roll-call vote. Otherwise there is really no point to the convention at all. And some of those Hillary delegates are pretty bound by state election laws to vote for her, aren't they? Talk about disenfrachising voters!!! Why even have an election at all.

Thats pretty much excatly what the DNC is saying!:sad2:
I do believe this has more to do with the SD's. Since they pledged to vote & NOT really voted yet.

You know, every time I read a post about the ‘bitter’ HS not voting for Obama ‘out of spite’ I just shake my head. Very Juvenile. And the more they say it, the more they believe it.:sad2:

However, I am positive that the GOP will be more than happy to unleash all of this in the next two months.

I agree they are still trashing her and us also.....I also hate they they say we should vote for him because Hillary says so :confused3 like that will happen....as if I have no voting mind of my own:lmao:

I did not vote for obama for many of the reasons i did not vote for Biden, Richardson, Edwards and so on and my not voting for any of them has nothing to do with race or bitterness. It had to do with the person.

I understand what Hillary is doing but that does not change my mind about why I did not vote for him in the first place.

UGG they just dont get it

Does anyone have the links with the info about the DNC illegally giving delegates to Obama?

My pain in the butt husband is on my case about it and I'd like to shut him up quickly!

I have a feeling that this convention is going to be depressing. Sigh... :(

I have a feeling that this convention is going to be depressing. Sigh... :(

I saw parts tonight!

Ted Kennedy Tribute (but his tribute did turn into a Obama commercial). I heard on CNN that he really dont have much time left.:guilty:
He bought me a beer once in Dulles Airport.:woohoo:

Michelles speech ( her Brother looks just like her...except taller & bald). I liked it.

Too me it was a big fizzle. Dont know if I am predisposed to it being a fizzle or it was really a fizzle!

I did see part of Michelle's speech and she sounded good. That was definitely a relief.

I guess we'll just have to see how it all plays out.
