I posted this in the liberal thread, but would prefer the input of those here. (heck, i'm probably on ignore with many of the BO supporters anyway.)

Obama is the nominee.

Pelosi has said so on Stephanopolis (she tried to stay oh so coy)...but....the Facts:

- She states that who ever gets the most delegates gets the nomination.
- She says the popular vote is irrelevent. (Like the National Election)
- She says not getting the minimum amount of delegates is irrelevent. (Unlike the Naitonal Election).
- She has stated for a week that both candidates wouldn't be on the ticket (she had decided on this before Texas/Ohio...which is why EVERYONE was demanding HC to quit.)
- She has no problem with disenfranchising FL & MI. (putting those states in play for the Republicans).
- She says that whatever happens during the next 3 weeks of vetting on Obama is irrelevent. Rezco, Uncle Racist, Moral Compass of Hate, Hypocrocy of not wanting the FL & MI voters to vote....none of it matters nor WILL it matter.

I apologize to those of you who indicated that this nominating process would cause McCain to win. You were right & I was wrong. I had no idea that Dean & Pelosi had already decided the nomination was over. I had no idea that they would knowingly decide to disenfranchise the voters of FL & MI. I had no idea that with their nominating rules stating that the SuperDs would decide in the event of neither candidate getting the required number of delegates that they would IGNORE THEIR OWN RULES. & with 3 freaking months before the convention & prior to 40% of Democrats getting to vote, Pelosi & Dean (& others) have decided to FIX the nomination.

I'm beyond disgusted.....& I will watch the vetting of Obama with laser focus as the Hypocritical statements & actions continue.

The BO supporters are suggesting (& i guess BO himself) that they just "split" the FL & MI delegates. (as if the delegates are the "issue" at this point). I swear we've gone thru the looking glass.

Pelosi is a fool! This just leads me to believe that the DNC is in a BIG mess behind the scenes even more.

There are soooooooo many things that can wrong if they dont do a legitimate recount. IF THEY DONT DO IT, One problem will be that FL & MI all vote GOP (inc the democrat vote). Those 2 states may just get sympathy votes, and since the democrats will have a illigitimate nominee... McCain will win by the largest landslide in history.

The other is The Democrat party will fold.

Why 3 weeks for Obama "vetting"????

BTW his church denounced him tonight for dennouncing his pastor!:headache:

They need to take this as a major lessons learned - and finally - come up with a schedule of which states can go first - on a rotating basis.

Its about time they change the monopoly that states like Iowa and NH have with choosing candidates ........

They should hold a lottery of which states can go first - and then change them every 4 years.

So maybe other states can get a say in weeding out all of the nominees.....

Iowa & NH are basically popularity contests of who spends the most money there.... And they are not "democratic" states! Shouldn't a traditionally blue state get to vet and vote on all the candidates first?

And to make it truly fair - states where the candidates are from - should not be allowed to be "first" - thereby avoiding an unfair advantage to those candidates.........

There are sooooooooo many less complicated ways of doing this! Just we never had this close of a primary before, so who knew?

That is really not a solution. Hillary's already won there - albeit with no campaigning - and that's probably what would happen with a "do-over."

Its not a practical solution. Obama would be in essence "stealing" delegates that he wouldn't have earned.

Its going to lead to bad blood. McCain is already leading FL in the polls (yes, its early and things can change - but GWB won there the past two elections.....)

:thumbsup2 OF COURSE Obama wants to split the votes. Proves he is a regular sleazy politian, just like the rest of them.

But really this FL & MI thing has nothing to do with politics. This will be the 2nd time in 8 years THEY DID NOT COUNT VOTES!!!!!! HUGE PROBLEM...this too will wind up in the Supreme Court.:sad2:

Good for the Clinton campaign:

:thumbsup2

A recent letter I sent to Speaker Pelosi. Thought some of you would find it interesting:
:thumbsup2

Doesn't matter anymore. Whoever gets elected this year will only last for 4 years because he/she will preside over the worst economic downturn since the great depression.
WHADDA FLIPPEN MESS!:scared1:

BTW MI will do a revote on June 3. They will vote on the revote this week!

Pelosi is a fool!

I couldn't believe her interview this morning. She was smiling & batting her eyes as she was stating that 1) the leader in delegates will be the nominee & 2) it will be over BEFORE the convention. It was crazy...I thought i was listening to a female David Axlerod (is that his name?)

This just leads me to believe that the DNC is in a BIG mess behind the scenes even more.

It's a huge mess. They decided if was over before TX/Ohio. Even if they wanted it to be....how could they be so stupid. Did they really think that HC would go away? Did they really think that HC wouldn't win TX & Ohio? Did they really think that BO wouldn't have some skeleton in the closet....given that there hadn't been ANY vetting on him?

There are soooooooo many things that can wrong if they dont do a legitimate recount. IF THEY DONT DO IT, One problem will be that FL & MI all vote GOP (inc the democrat vote). Those 2 states may just get sympathy votes, and since the democrats will have a illigitimate nominee... McCain will win by the largest landslide in history.

Every day, 50 times a day from Aug. thru early Nov. (if BO is nominated) we will see Uncle Nutjob saying "G*d D*mn America" in TV commercials (& a dozen other nuggets.)

The other is The Democrat party will fold.

Why 3 weeks for Obama "vetting"????

I just meant the 3 (or is it 4?) weeks prior to Penn. Obviously he'll be vetted if he gets the nomination for the next 7 months & it won't be pretty. There will be a one headline a week for 24 weeks.

BTW his church denounced him tonight for dennouncing his pastor!:headache:

There are sooooooooo many less complicated ways of doing this! Just we never had this close of a primary before, so who knew?

:thumbsup2 OF COURSE Obama wants to split the votes. Proves he is a regular sleazy politian, just like the rest of them.

This is the MOST TELLING fact from this week. (though not the most disgusting). He's not a new kind of candidate.....as Pete Townsend wrote....."Meet the new boss....same as the old boss...." Unfortunately the BO supporters never have heard of the song & sure as heck don't know the name of the title.

But really this FL & MI thing has nothing to do with politics. This will be the 2nd time in 8 years THEY DID NOT COUNT VOTES!!!!!! HUGE PROBLEM...this too will wind up in the Supreme Court.:sad2:

An observation of mine - can you believe we could have have a President McAdoo? That name sounds silly when I say it out loud! ;)

Sounds like Jerome & I both had our heads explode watching Nancy this morning. Very interesting info here. Thanks for sharing. :hippie:

I am considering NOT voting for a democrat! In part because I don't believe Obama has enough experience to do the job without learning on the job - and because of the way the party has conducted itself with this problem!

It's spring break here in Oklahoma and my brother was in town. This is much the same as what he said to me. He seems pretty sure he's going to vote for McCain and I thought my mother was going to have a stroke when she heard him say it. I'm not there yet. I still want to be convinced that Obama can handle the job, but after this last week, I'm getting really nervous that he isn't what he seems. I don't like that.

BTW his church denounced him tonight for dennouncing his pastor!:headache:

WHADDA FLIPPEN MESS!:scared1:

I hadn't heard that one. :sad2: But I guess he really doesn't belong there if he doesn't share their views.

I looked up the definition of racism today. One of the three definitions reads "hatred or intolerance of another race or other races". I hesitate to type this, because I fear some will take it wrong, but I believe (from the clips I've seen) that Obama's ex-pastor is indeed racist. I'd say it was pretty clear that he hates the white race and he also sounded pretty intollerant to me. I find it disgusting that he crossed the line of empowering his congregation, to spewing hate at people whose skin is a different color. Yes, African Americans have had it really rough - and I'm not saying it's all peachy right now. But to lump a whole race together as evil is perpetuating the whole problem. And why was he preaching hate instead of Christ's love? What kind of church is that anyway?

I grew up in a college town. My father was a college prof who wrote several books with a black man when I was in elementary school. I grew up playing with his children and with the children of many of my father's doctoral students from all over the world. I think I can honestly say that as a child I didn't even notice the color difference. I never thought anything about it. They were just my playmates and friends who happend to have skin a different shade from my own. I thought no more about it than I thought about different eye color or hair color. :confused3 I never thought I was better than any of them, nor do I think they felt inferior or superior to me. I consider myself very lucky. I still don't look at the world that way. It makes me feel ill when anyone tries to stir up racial tension. Why? Isn't it better to show people that we're the same beneath our skin and spread love instead of hate?

I'm afraid that even though Obama "denounced" him, it's probably too late. I think the damage has been done to his campaign. I'm not sure I'll ever feel the same about him. Even if he totally disagrees, part of me will always wonder if some of that "poison" is deep inside him too. After all, he seemed to have a close tie to this man. :scared: He was willing to be a member of a church that has a membership that supports this attitude. If my church had even one sermon that spread hate about any race the way some of those clips did, I'd be out the door so fast that they'd never have seen me going. And I really mean that. Actually, I can go further than that. I'd be out the door if I heard any sermon spreading hate about anyone...race, color, creed, sex...doesn't matter. That doesn't belong in church.

I can stand a lie, but I'm not sure I can live with voting for a leader if I'm afraid he might be harboring a deep seated hatred. That's a deal-breaker for me. That'd mean that he really doesn't believe the things he's been saying. I sure hope I'm proven wrong. I want so much to believe I could vote for him. Otherwise this might be the first year that I just don't even cast a vote. I don't think I could ever vote for McCain. :headache:

:lmao:

I have worked for the past 30 years (ugh) as a IT guy for mostly Fortune 50 Financial Institutions. Over the past 20 years or so I saw many, many mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnny new bosses come in. Each one was a 'yuppie'(who had about 10 mins experience) who strewned eloquent sayings and was the 'can do' guy. Each time this happened the Dept he ran went spirally downward, and everybody was laid off.

Me point is Obama is clearly cut from the same mold as these "Yuppie" sweet talkers! Been there, done that, saw it...he aint ready to run no country!

What I always find interesting is that they say he has the young college kids supporting him. YOU BET THEY ARE..they too want and believe they should be CEO's with no experience, also!:lmao:

(No offense to any college aged students here...LUV ya all, just not enough to let ya 'in charge" just yet!)

Nice letter, Jarn.

Much better than i could have composed....& with 73 fewer expletives.

:rotfl2: But ya gotta love expletives...they so cut to the theme of what one is saying!;)

THAT is BRILLIANT!:thumbsup2

I looked up the definition of racism today........
:flower3:

Sadly, racism does excist here in this country (and in other countries too). I have no idea how it can be fixed, if at all. But I know it should never be tolerated.

Someone once said that you cant define pornography, until you see it! In viewing that video, you may not be able to define racism, but once you see that video, you know what racism is.

For whatever the reason someone is racist, and every racist has their reasons, it still wrong. Even more wrong (if possible) when regurgitated from a pulpit during a religious ceremony.:sad2:

More so then any of that, its the "GD America" quote that really get my goat. This is not something that can be construed as a "one time" slip of the tounge.:sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

One cannot be mistaken for a racist!

Obama camp presses Clinton on 'non disclosure'
Posted: 08:29 AM ET

(CNN) — Barack Obama's campaign on Sunday stepped up its efforts to portray rival Hillary Clinton as a secretive politician, calling the New York senator a "veteran of non-disclosure."

In a conference call with reporters Sunday afternoon, Obama's top aides implored Clinton to release past tax returns, earmark requests, documents from her husband’s Presidential Library and the list of donors to the Library.

"What is Sen. Clinton hiding and what is lurking in the documents?" Obama Communications Director Robert Gibbs asked on the conference call.

David Axelrod, the campaign's chief strategist, also repeated the campaign's past claim that the New York senator remains to be fully vetted, and suggested Republicans could unearth now unknown details about Clinton.

The Clinton campaign immediately shot back in a conference call of their own later Sunday, saying the Obama campaign is increasingly going negative, despite its message of hope.

"There has been a pattern of him launching personal attacks that we think have not been as fully publicly seen or realized, as we move month to month in this campaign," Clinton chief strategist Mark Penn said.

Clinton Communications Director Howard Wolfson also responded sharply, saying much of the Clinton tax returns over the last several years have been made public already.

"I would point out there are 20 years of the Clinton tax returns in the public record, and as far as I am aware, there is one year of Senator Obama's tax returns in the public record — 2006," he said. "I would ask the Obama campaign if he or they are prepared to release all of his taxes when he was in elected office, so far the answer to that has been no."

Nice to see how the Obama camp sticks to the issues. Hopefully this will Change!

JARNJ3, This part of the quote needed to be BOLDED!:thumbsup2

So even with all his 'experience" in public office he only sees the need to hand over just one year of Tax Returns. :rolleyes1

Although I think this pastor-gate is absurb, I am not at all happy with the Obama camp demanding W-2's and all that. Both of the camps have got to stop this crap, all its doing is taking away from how little McCain has to offer.

Your whole post was great and I agreed with all of it.

Back in February when we had our voting (cacus YUCK) going into it I was going back and forth with Obama and Clinton. I did end up voting for Clinton and have fully supported her since.
But for a while I said I would gladly vote for either Dem nom, be it Clinton or Obama.

Not anymore.....I can not and will not vote for Obama if he gets the nom. Don't know if I could actually vote for McCain. I have never, ever voted for a Rep in ANY local or general election. I am a hard core Dem, but Obama has turned me away. I do not trust him as a leader. This whole church thing is just the icing on the cake.

I have thought long and hard about this because it is eating at me to even THINK about voting for a Rep, but I can not vote for Obama. I think he is sneaky and will say ANYTHING to get elected. Yes, maybe that is like every other politcian but at least the others don't pretend to be different like Obama does!

It saddens me because I did like Obama and I thought he could do some good. I would have liked to see him President one day in the future. I now think a President Obama will just DIVIDE this Country more then ever before!

The thing is even if Obama does get the nom, McCain will win the election. What I can not believe is how Obama supporters think that the pastor's tape will not hurt Obama (badly) in the general election. Those tapes alone will eat him alive. Top that with his inexperience and way liberal views ---- he doesn't have a chance in the general election.
I just hope the Supers realize the only way to MAYBE get a Dem in the White House is to have Hillary Clinton as the nom.

That really is the Dems only chance. It will be a tough fight, but I think McCain will beat Obama by a landslide!

I can't believe the DNC hasn't yet realized that if Obama is the nom that it is handing the Presidency to McCain, if for no other reason than the Rev. Wright clips.

They aren't going to go away. There are just too many possibilities for exploitation.

For instance:

Clip of Wright on his anti-America tirade.

Clip of Obama denouncing him.
"Obama defended his 20-year relationship with Wright, saying that the pastor has served him in a spiritual role -- not a political one."

Clip of this Wizard of Oz scene.

"Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!"

To be honest this does all into the whole Obama "Follow the yellow Brick road" campaign!:rotfl2:
Now In this scenario, try to guess who Obama sees as the Wicked Witch of the West?
:rolleyes1

Wrong on Wright: Which Obama is Lying?
Posted by: Michael Medved at 4:01 AM

In the Jeremiah Wright affair, Barack Obama is most certainly lying about something.

He now insists that he is “shocked, shocked” (in the style of Claude Raines in “Casablanca”) to hear that anti-Americanism had anything at all to do with Wright’s ministry.

He has also claimed to be a “devout Christian” who attends church every week and is deeply involved in the life of Wright’s congregation (where he’s been a member for twenty years).

It’s simply not possible that he could be an active member in the church without hearing something about sermons in which the pastor blamed 9/11 on America’s past sins, or called down curses repeatedly (“God D---n America!”) on his own nation. I’ve been involved in synagogue life for more than thirty years, in three different congregations in two different communities. If any of the rabbis who served those congregations ever delivered sermons that were even vaguely controversial, I would have heard about it without question (even on those occasions where I wasn’t present to hear the talk myself). Given the number and intensity of wildly offensive Wright sermons, it’s ridiculous to argue that the first Obama learned of the anti-American bent of his self-described “mentor” was last week in news reports.

And if we assume for the sake of argument that it’s true that he had no idea how Wright really felt about crucial questions like the worst terrorist attack in U.S. history, then how can we accept Obama’s insistence on his devout faithfulness and active church membership.

Hey, Barack—it’s either one or the other: either you were lying when you talked about your deep, soul-changing involvement in Trinity United Church of Christ, or else you’re lying when you say you never had any idea (until last week) about the crazy and offensive and sickening contents of the pastor’s diatribes from the pulpit.

My guess is that Obama is actually telling the truth about his deep involvement in the church, but lying (very badly) about knowing nothing about its pastor’s excesses.

The idea that he didn’t realize until a few days ago that mainstream America would view Wright’s remarks (which even Barack himself now describes as “appalling”) as explosive and unacceptable is a troubling indication of Obama’s enclosure in a politically correct bubble, and his profound estrangement from the faith and patriotism commitments of ordinary Americans.

I bolded where I agreed.

I'm interested in hearing Obama's speech tomorrow. Cause this stuff has definitively touched a nerve.

Remember that song from the 80's - can't remember who did it but it went:

You spin me right round baby right round
Like a record baby
right round round round.

Yeah - that song has been stuck in my head lately.

Just sayin'.

I watched part of an Obama speech today. I didn't hear him address this issue...if he did it was before I turned on the tv. I like what I hear when I listen to him speak. I want to believe in him. Just wish I felt more sure of who he really is and how a man with his level of experience can get us out of the mess we're in. He scares me and I'm tired of having a president that scares me.

Just got this invitation in the mail:

How very cool! Are you going? Wish I could.

You spin me right round baby ...

;)

See - thats where the "hope" part comes in.

I am too much a pessimist to believe in the hope part of the message. What a lot of people don't realize - is that Obama is going to require sacrifice from people - without really telling them what the sacrifice will be.

I am just skeptical that he can change anything. To me you need to know how to work the system in order to change it - I know Hillary can do that - I don't have to hope for that......

Wednesday night Bill Clinton is coming to my town....I'm trying to get Tickets!:cool1:

I can relate DisUnc. Always the fresh faced new hire who would come up with the revolutionary strategy of providing "better customer service".....(while cutting staff & closing local offices). Followed up by closing or selling off the division.

To quote my Talking Heads....."same as it ever was"....

Regarding BO having a speech on "race" tomorrow. I thought "race" wasn't supposed to be a part of the campaign. ;)

Kidding....I don't blame him, he needs to get a handle on this or it will blow up in Penn. But he won't be able to get the "he's just another hypocritical politician who will do anything to get elected" geinie...back into the bottle again.

Whats the latest on FL & MI? Everyone still dragging their feet?
