Well - how convenient. I am calling shenanigans. I gotta say that I just don't buy it. It is not like Wright said these things this week and Obama jumped all over himself to denounce the statements. I see time and time again where Obama has had the opportunity to stand up against this but does not until he is forced for political expediency.

One of the clips is from 9/16/2001! Even if that was the first time that Wright had said something like this - that still means Obama stuck with him for 7 years!

Louis Farrakhan received the Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. Trumpeter Award a year ago but Obama did not speak out against that until this January. That relationship goes back to at least the mid-eighties.

We are not talking about a simple endorsement here. We are talking about a close, personal and long standing relationship here. Obama says he is qualified to run because he has sound judgment. This, along with the Rezko stuff shows that his judgment is not sound.

Oh and please - the whole 'even if he said it - I didn't know about it'. Even Wright knew his association would hurt Obama - how can Obama say that he was clueless? You look at the reactions of the members of that congregation - it is not the first time that they are hearing this stuff nor does it look like an unwelcome message.

I am looking at the big picture. Even if this blows over for now and all Dems let it slide - I can guarantee you this will all be back front and center in the general election. Louder and larger. How many military votes will Obama hold onto when the GOP starts running the inevitable "God Damn America" ads? How much of the Jewish vote with stick with him when they unearth (or doctor) photos of Wright, Farrakhan and Gadaffi and then pair it with the smiling photo of Obama and Wright? And so on and so forth.

I am sorry but there is no way Obama will get elected in the general election. I do not take any joy in this because for all the supposed support for Hillary should she be the nom - I really see that if Obama drops out over this or the Supers sway with the wind and she becomes the nom - all that support will dry up and fall away as the disenchanted Obama supporters take their ball and go home.

According to BO in the interview on CNN last night. He siad he hadnt heard about any of this rederick UNTIL he started running for Pres (LIE). But yet still put him on his "Campaign Spiritual advisory Board"!!!!!! (I do believe it was a Salaried position too)!! It wasnt untill he got caught did he do anything!!!!:sad2:

This story WILL not go away or die down either! Even Anderson Cooper admitted that the he knew about this some time ago, and "didnt think it was a big deal". The Media AGAIN has dropped the ball!

Well, it is true we all know Hillary's dirt. Some more dirt on McCain would be helpful. Truly he is the one who has beneffited the most from the media.

But, I'm sure the clip of Bill saying "I did not have sexual relations with that woman" will be making the rounds again.

Hillary should run on the same theme as Bill, "it's the economy stupid."

I don't think that's the clip they'll use. It makes her look like the wronged woman-too much sympathy possible. No, they'll go for innuendo re whitewater again. They don't have to prove anything, just suggest it.....

I don't know about that. Are you watching the coverage this morning? The message I am getting from the media is "well - he apologized and Wright is no longer on his committee. So - no more story there." Well, except on Fox that is. I am not a Fox fan AT ALL - but I can count on them to bash both Obama and Hillary. Unlike the rest of the MSM!

I thought the Rezko stuff would be what does him in!:confused3

I was watching something - gosh I can't remember exactly who - but one of the on-air anchor types was being interviewed about what it is to be on the news today.

He went on and on about how they have to work so hard to analyze the information that they give to the public. And that struck me wrong. Seriously wrong. It is their job to state the information, even update with more current or correct information. But it is MY job to analyze that information.

I have never put much stock in the US Media anyway - I feel like I have to find all kinds of corroborating sources before I will believe anything! Maybe I should become a reporter!

I can't exactly agree with you there. There has to be some corroboration or it is not news but rumor mongering. You can get that on the blogosphere.

But you are right that it is our job to analyze; their job is to report.

The one positive for him in this whole deal is everyone is ignoring the story yesterday that there was a whole lot more money raised by Rezko than reported the first (or second or third) time Obama's camp mentioned it.

And just as good the news isn't reporting this either

Good thing the news is fair and balanced.

What are they supposed to report? That she didn't have an official role? She never said she did. She said she helped to get it passed. If Bill was against it because of some deal he was working with the GOP - how do you know she wasn't working behind the scenes on him to find a way to get it through? Which it did go through. Even those referred to in the story said they couldn't confirm or deny that. Given her history of advocating health and child welfare - I am not sure why people would not see that.

Funny how Kennedy had previously praised her on her involvement but now that he has taken the other side - now she had nothing to do with it. Although when confronted directly - Kennedy "declined to comment" instead making some kind of throw away comment about facts being tricky? He would know. wouldnt he?

Or maybe you think they should be reporting that there is a politician running for office that has padded their resume? Oooh - how many would fit that bill? :cool2:

Well since you linked it from a very prominent newspaper, I guess it is being reported.

Thank you for showing your support on the Support Hillary thread.

Oh yes - we just love all that support!

It's good to see that the people supporting their candidates roll pretty much inline with their candidates. Are there a lot of HC supporters going negative on the Obama thread? I know he's a new style of politician and won't go negative and that's one of the things his peeps like so much about him, right?

This thing is in the bag for your side right? Maybe if you say it enough you'll start to believe it. Better get back to those phone banks, though.

I have a dumb question.

What happens to the delegates that are currently assigned to candidates that have already left the race?

Obama sees NOOOOOOOOOOOOO problem with disinfranchising Fl & MI voters!:headache:
What excactly is his version of "Hope & Change"????????:scared1:

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/03/15/MN53VK8HS.DTL

Let him run with that for a while. He has just thrown out his own argument to not count the two states because that's what they agreed to. Prior to this statement he actually had a little bit of moral high road even though I never though you could go into Denver and not seat those states. Now he's suggested two options 1)split them, or 2) don't count them. Both of those options do not in anyway reflect the will of the voters of the two states.

I believe they can go anywhere. I think Edwards has 21 or something like that. If he endorsed a candidate, they usually fall in line I think.

I will put $$$$$ that Hillary will choose Wesley Clark.

This saddens me. It would be an historical ticket - and I think with her votes and his votes - a ticket that would be hard to beat in November.

If Obama doesn't get the nom - some of his supporters stay home. If Clinton doesn't get the nom - some of her supporters vote for McCain. This doesn't seem to bother people.......

I Love Wesley Clark and I think he'd make a great VP. But unfortunately, I don't think he's what the ticket needs this time. I think we need that "historical ticket" (as if a woman wasn't historical enough!)

I believe Obama is done for. Even if he keeps chugging along till the convention, I think he's lost all but the most strident super delegates. If Hillary does get the Nom, then there is only one way I see it not ripping apart the Dems. That's another black candidate for the VP slot.

Oh and please - the whole 'even if he said it - I didn't know about it'. Even Wright knew his association would hurt Obama - how can Obama say that he was clueless? I also have a hard time believing these concepts were new to him. The church makes the sermons available on DVD/CD to it's members and the public. I doubt he missed a single service - even if he wasn't there. It's hard to believe that you attend a church 20 years - even sporadically- and not know where a minister stands politically.

Of course, they'll turn on her. That was never in doubt.

I believe she is up for the fight, that's exactly why I like her.

I have such mixed feelings about this situation. It sort of confirms what I didn't like about Obama. His lack of political savvy and his judgement.

But it does make me sad for the black community that this might be what ends his campaign. I also feel for some of the Obama supporters (Tim comes to mind) who are new to politics and haven't experienced the true viciousness that politics can be. I also know the crushing feeling of your candidate being involved in something that's just blatantly stupid. I will never not cringe when I hear Bill denying his involvement with ML. It's an awful feeling I wouldn't wish on anyone.

But I'd also be lying if I didn't say that my deep dark Hillary lovin' heart was a wee bit gleeful for something, anything that might put a halt to Obamas campaign.
