No one on this thread hates Obama either (at least I don't). We just get annoyed with overbearing Obama supporters lecturing us on how we should feel and what we should think. Please don't take this personally as I am not referencing you or your posts, but several others who have posted before.

And that's wrong. I totally see that. I have not done that. I have hardly posted at all on the Obama thread and not much on the liberal thread these days because it has become an us/them thing with Obama/Hillary and I am sickened by that.

I have not said one negative thing about Hillary on any thread. Defending Obama does not make me a non-suppporter of Hillary.

For Cripes Sake! This has nothing to do with religion!!!

This is not an argument about what this man said about the Gospel, or Jesus or even about any other religion. The topic he is ranting about is entirely secular but just happens to take place in the church. Which is entirely inappropriate - no matter what religion you are.

This is a huge problem for Obama - not because he attends the church - but because he has elevated this preacher to a position of influence over his life and decisions outside of the church. 20 years is a very long time to simply shake your head and benignly disagree with such a divisive message.

Seriously - is there anything that Obama can do that his supporters would not defend? If I had found out that Hillary had attended a church that preached white power from the pulpit - I would drop my support of her like a hot potato even if she just sat through one sermon - let alone 20 years of it.

So would I ..I would have walked out of there if he was preaching about how great Blacks are and how Whites aren't....the new pastor is just as bad....what does that tell ya about the church

There is nothing wrong with preaching about black pride in a black church. Would you fault a Russian Orthodox church for preaching in support Russians? Or a Conservative Jewish synagogue for supporting Jews here in the US? The fact is that "white power" has been and still is the de facto power here in the US and it does not need to be preached about.

Obama's pastor makes me sick, very sick to my stomach. Sorry if this is a man Obama admires he will NOT get my vote in the fall. I would hold my nose and vote for McCain before I vote for a man that admires such a racist pig! IMO YES that pastor speaks racism, if any white pastor was preaching "white pride" or "be proud you are white" the way this guy was, people would want his head!

Yes....Obama no matter what is fine and dandy and anything that is not appropriate is turned a blind eye..... I cant believe that the Obama supporters made such a big deal out of what Ferraro said yet this is okay...

to me the people that Obama associates himself with...Racists and criminals and such does not make for good character....they are the people I avoid not idealize or use as my mortal compass...yet have them as my INSPIRATION to write my book.

I am not saying that he is racist but if not why stay in a church like that...and than there is Michelle his wife that has written her thesis on how whites are...and how she has not been proud of her country till know and in addition how she said that she would have to think real real hard if it came down to voting for Hillary....what's all that about

Seriously - she would be blasted. Her campaign would be over because people would not just be calling for her to step out of the race - they would be calling for her head.

But, I still think that it is more than the act of belonging. This is the man Obama singled out for praise saying that he was his inspiration and moral compass. That's what is bothering me.

There is a double standard when it comes to Clinton and Obama.

I feel that the Obama supporters think that he has already won this nomination now - and because Hillary hasn't conceded - she is evil - the enemy so to speak.

The pastor's video will definitely be used against Obama in the general (should he get there) - and I fear it will turn off the independents. I can honestly see McCain winning this thing .........

I don't want to bash Obama - but sometimes its so hard to hold it in - after reading the vitriol on the Obama thread......

I started posting here - because I enjoyed the community on the liberal thread. Seems like that community no longer exists.........

I would take her at HER word and judge her on HER actions-not the sound bytes of 2 sermons out of a 40 year career. I have enough respect for her as a legislator and as a human being to know that she could separate spiritual advice regarding the Bible or Christian life and political statements that should never have been made in a church in the first place.

Has anything been posted regarding his condemnation of the comments (which comments, btw?) "at the beginning" of his campaign? Is there any written record of this?

& I wonder why the pastor was on the campaign staff AFTER this supposed condemnation?

& at the risk of upseting half of all SAHMs in this country....how is Oprah connected to this church, this pastor & Obama?

I think all Democratic voters need to get alot of answers before we form a final opinion on this.

As a White American Male who lived in NYC for 30 years, and if I could afford at the time...had my fair share of trouble getting a cab.......Obama is not even someone I will ever regard as worthy of my precious vote.

I will not now nor ever vote for Obama or anyone who has physically, financially, spiritually or emotionally ever supported verbal terrorism against myself or My country or my God. Especially from an Altar!

These videos are sacreligious, discusting and disgraceful and NO EXCUSES will ever change my mind.

but I agree with you 100%. This really looks bad to me. After this, the Jewish vote is gone from him completely. I think the white male vote is also in trouble. He'll be left with the black vote and the ultra-liberal guilty yuppies. That is not enough to carry an election.

At this point we can only pray the Superdelegates do their job and pick a viable candidate.
