I'll second the "get rid of the super delegates" idea... but only if they make the primaries closed so it's a true popular vote.

Unfortunately - that is easier said than done - because the states get to choose how to do their primary \ (ugh) caucus.

And if this all works out in the end (the democratic candidate wins the presidency) - my prediction is that none of this will change.......

I agree ..if you are a REP and want to vote DEM in the primaries than you nees to do as we do here in Ca. you need to change your party 2 no later that 2 weeks before the vote to vote for that party...if you dont than you cant..

After you vote than you can change it back if you choose to during the General Election. It is a pain to do so soooo if you want to go throught that trouble thatn it to me means you are voting because you care about that candidate and not to just vote because.

I have to say that I am surprises that Hillary is doing so well in Mississippi. They said that if Obama is just getting the Black vote there that is not a good sighn for him. He needs to kepp his momentum going with the white voters also in order to stay ahead of Hillary. I thought for sure she was going to be whipped off the map tonday...it is right know

Obama 164,030
Hillary 112,473

With 72% of the vote in

Everyone (Obama, the Obama thread, everyone on Mathew's & Oberman's show except for Andrea Mitchell) wants Geraldine's head.

I've heard that Ferarro is very ill & taking chemo.

Question to BO:

Should HC should throw Ferraro under the bus... before or after her next chemo treatment? Dude is stomping his feet & demanding that a historical Democratic figure (on chemo) be fired in disgrace. In response to this second firing demand, HC deftly tells him to (essentially) go pound sand.

Most telling - BO's win in Mississippi is the third story after Spitzer & GeraldineGate.

(& this after waiting 3 days to respond to HC's suggestion that BO would make a swell VP.....letting the story percolate on the Sunday talk shows w/o a response from BO.)

BO is smart, but I'm really starting to wonder about his stategery.

I am sorry if she is ill, but that doesn't give her a free ride to say whatever she wants. BO did not wait 3 days to respond to Clinton about the VP ploy, he responded to it on Friday to reporters on his plane. Not his fault if they did not play it.

Edited because i''ve got to quit responding to BO supporters in the HC thread.

I know. That's what really stinks. I wish the Democratic party would say they want certain guidelines across the board. But I guess short of not accepting results (which we've seen is a disaster) there's not a lot they can do about it.

The only thing that will bring about change is for people within the states involved to stand up and complain. We need to believe that our voice makes a difference. So anyone out there...if you were unhappy with your state's primary, please gripe about it. The squeaky wheel gets grease. We can do it...yes we can. ;)

I denounce what she said & suggested that she needs a muzzel. (in the BO thread this morning). No free ride. If HC follows BOs suggestion to disgracefully fire her, I'll question her loyalty & her political competence.

& regarding him letting 2 & 1/2 days of news cycles pass before he ADEQUATELY responded to HC's "offer" of the Veep job:

He....answered.....very......slowly.....a......question.......about......being......veep.....in......a.......very.......measured......tone........that.......he........didn't......want........to........be......a......vice president. To a reporter from the East Whogivesawhooey Gazette (not exacly an firm denial nor a very amusing one).

& It took him 3 days to "officially" respond & he did it angrily, instead of laughing it off. I mean....OF COURSE HCs offer was a ploy. When my kid asks for ice cream for breakfast, it's a ploy. Should i be angry or laugh at it?

Why am i debating BO supporters here?.....jeesh, no wonder we have twice as many posts as the BO thread. :lmao:

listening to the news about the economy and the war......what do you think if Hillary and McCain were running against each other ...

Will McCain win over Hillary because of her saying he has the experience with the war and she has less than him...or him having much less experience with getting the economy on track? He may be stronger on one but she is stronger on the other...and economy is #1 on the list of worries for voters

To me we know that Obama and Hillary are planning on pulling out so as far as that goes for either of them with Iraq it is a draw leaving McCain with an edge.....

But when you put Obama and Hillary up against McCain with the economy they say Hillary would win on that over Obama and McCain.....

so than what is left but the likable vote....which Obama would win but the likable vote makes not for a good POTUS....sometimes i think Kerry and Kennedy want Obama not just because they like him but because they can mold him in there direction ...Hillary will be harder to mold....Kerry and Kennedy are very old politics just like Hillary ....Kennedy the most...you cant get any older than him...and I don't mean age.

I saw Hillary speak tonight. She was great!!

I heard that her rally's there have been Obama like rallys with thousands of people. I am so bummed bummed bummed that when she was just 15 minutes from me I could not go and take my son with me.....would have bben great....now all I can do is live vicariously through you all that have gone and are still waiting to go.....:rotfl:

As of right now Real Clear Politics has Miss as 17-14 Obama. Still two out there not claimed, but if that's the case it wasn't a bad night losing by about 20 points.

Edited because i''ve got to quit responding to BO supporters in the HC thread.

Yeah - its a shame - but its a losing battle. There's no more gray - only black and white (not meant to be the colors literally).

Everything Clinton does or says - is wrong, racist - hypocritical or sliced\diced to be interpreted as wrong, racist - hypocritical, etc ....... And unfortunately, we all tend to be lumped into that category too, because we're backing the candidate not named Obama.

There's no middle ground any more. We are now the enemy also.

I feel like we've been kicked out of the democratic\liberal party!!! ;)

Oh well - I've said it before - I'll say it again - I'm proud that Hillary is giving it her all in trying to win the nomination.

On a positive note - this party infighting supposedly is only happening on line. The majority of the party - don't follow the liberal blogs - I think only like 20% do - so that explains that while Hillary is so hated online - she has a significant following in the country (12 mil votes so far?). I know this cause I read it online somewhere....... ;)

:rotfl: sometimes when I am on the DIS i feel like I have no life....

Will be gone off the boards for about 5 days starting Friday afternoon because my son and I are heading to Washington D.C and Philly for a school field trip.....what am I going to do...what if I start to have withdrawals.....:lmao:

No cant see that happening...i wont have anytime to sleep let alone think about the DIS.....Ds wants me to bring the Laptop so he can use it at the airport for our 3 hr lay over at 4 in the morning...

yes 4 in the morning....we fly out at 9:15 at San Diego red eye and land in Atlanta at 4am...3 hr layover and get on another plane at 7:15 and land in NYC at 9"15...get on a bus for Philly for 3 hrs and get there at about 12pm....and than we have lunch and our first tour day begins and we get to the hotel for check in at 9:30 pm that night....is that yuck or what...

Why they did not just fly us in to Philly in the first place is beyond me. Can you see the kids and the adults after a trip like that...never mind that we will also be on a 3 hr time difference so when we land and get on the bus our bodies will be telling us it is 6:30 am...than that fist night that we are sleeping and have to get up at 7:00 it will be 4 o'clock on our time clocks...sounds like fun doesn't it

But there is a great itinerary so am looking forward to it:thumbsup2

The more I watch politicians on the news the more I undertand why the US is the way it is....there are a lot of troubled people running it.

The more I watch the media over this election and read the paper the more I see how they swing there opinion to sound like facts.

Whats a person to do :rotfl:

This is really true. It was in Texas (& probably will be true in Penn, MI, NC & FL.

Everyone in my world, friends & at work, are political & spend some time online. Most are Obama supporters & most thought BO would make a statement in Texas.

It didn't happen. The 80% who go to soccer practice & work, & don't have time for blogs etc. went 60/40 for HC. They (like most of us) like BO, but don't feel the "inspiration". All of my Mom's friends (seniors) prefer HC & I have many friends & business aquaintences who are Latino & they much prefer HC. They (like me) like that she seems to be more of a fighter than BO.

If HC can pick up 100-150K votes in each of the big 3 states (MI, Penn & FL), & she will..... this race will get real interesting.

BIG TIME!!!!!! It is out of controll!

The problem is most people think the 24 hour news people are reporters, they are not. The are "wanna be" actors!:scared:

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: THAT WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE TO DO!

Could not see it either...that is why I think Kerry and mostly Kennedy would like Obama. Kennedy of all people IMO has an agenda with Obama....he is even older Politics than Hillary is so there is NO changing him either.. Also he may not be able to deal with having a woman handling the White house. Cant believe it is all about Obama love.

But alot to do with how strong Hillary is and how hard it will be to push her around. If this is any indication how Obama backs away from a fight to keep peace than what is he going to do when they come swarming. Also how many things of importance is he going to Vito.

In addition as you mentioned not all lobbyists are bad...many are good and we need them...they just need to be better representatives and not run a muck...so will he straighten them out or try to get rid of them? Cant remember what he has said all about that issue.

Hi my fellow Hillary supporters. :goodvibes

I haven't been on here lately. I am having computer problems. I can only read out on the web, I can't respond or log in to sites. I am at my mom's and I told her I need to use her computer ;)

I think Hillary did fairly well in Mississippi yesterday. Of course she lost, we all knew that was going to happen (because of the heavy black population), but it was not a overwelming loss.
I read that Obama got like 90% of the black votes but only 25% of the white votes in Mississippi

The thing is, is Mississippi isn't a Dem state, it will go on the Red side in November.

I do think Obama is losing momentum. I think with this break in the action until Penn. will hurt Obama more then it will Clinton.

I am not sure what is going to happen, it is anyone's game still.
I can see this Obama and Clinton thing dividing a lot of Dems though. If their candidate doesn't get the nom then that is it, they will sit out or vote for the other guy.
I do not want to vote for Obama and to be honest I REALLY do not know if I CAN vote for him if push came to shove. Something about the man rubs me the wrong way and I am very leary of him running the country.

The sad thing is I can easily see McCain becoming our next President. There are too many people that won't vote for Clinton if she gets the nom and there are just as many people that won't vote for Obama either!

Where I live it probably won't matter. Minnesota has always been blue, even Walter Mondale won Minnesota when he ran again Reagan! The only way I can see that changing is if our current gov. gets the VP nod on McCain's ticket. His name has been thrown out here and there on different news channels.
If he gets on the ticket with McCain, then I think Minnesota for the first time since as far back as I can remember will be up for grabs

Just wanted to say hi to my fellow Hillary supports.
Here's to Pennsylvania :flower3:
