I lost my mind for about thirty second, I went to the Obama thread, then turned around quickly. I didn't realize they are they higher class of the democratic party. Wow, I feel so...blah now. ;) :rotfl:

:grouphug: Just stay here with us Gun bearin, religious crutch using schlubs!:cool1: Lets hang out on the stoops, flip open a beer, and talk abut how bitter we are and wait for the mailman to bring out Government checks!:woohoo:

;)

Okay, so I'd admit, I didn't read all of the pages, just the first and last one. But I wanted to put in my two cents worth. I plan to vote for Hillary for Pres. GO HILLARY!

:yay: Where are you from?

Some of them go on and on about Hillary! I wish that I had that much time to constantly attack someone.

Many of them are very rational and articulate though. You just have to weed through the constant slams which is too much work IMO.

You are all very brave, I dont go over there.....my head would BURST!

Oh I don't know, they started talking lattes and they were speaking my language. I am in the land that Starbucks built, or fueled. ;) But they lost me on the white wine, I don't like wine much, prefer the girly fruity drinks with an umbrella in it. :woohoo:

But I'll roll with it, my neighbors have an acura suv in the yard :rotfl:

This is my first venture into either the Obama or Hillary threads. I really, really don't care which one wins as long as McCain and fellow Reps don't. I'm frankly surprised to see so much in-fighting and bitterness between the two camps. After all, one side or the other will (hopefully) support the other in the big election. Mc Cain is NOT going to win. So far, only Hillary and Obama have been roughed up by the press. McCain is getting a free ride right now. But he'll have his turn.

I'm certainly not suggesting that the HS and OS drop the debate or that anyone pull out right now; I just hope we don't do too much damage to the Dem party in the meantime.

Just posted this on the Obama/Small town America thread....crossposting here!

Along with this latest quotes from Obama's & his inner circle and their quotes

"Typical White Woman"

"For the First time in my life I am proud to be a American" His wife

"GD America" His Spitual advisor

"One of the great pleasures of running for president has been, you know, to go to some tiny town in Iowa and you've got some guy in overalls and a seed hat say, 'what do you think about the situation in Burma?'
You know, and you think he is going to ask you about corn -- and he asks you about Burma," said Obama, provoking laughter from the New Hampshire audience. "But that happens all the time." :rolleyes1

"I cannot swallow whole the view of Lincoln as the Great Emancipator. "

"If I had heard any of these statements, I probably would have walked up and I probably would have told Reverend Wright that they were wrong" -After 20 or more years of going to the church, and considering this Pastor to be a mentor, he didn't know that the man held these beliefs....

After for months claiming that his dealing with Rezko was limited to charity work for a church, it comes out that he bought two houses at below market prices from him, and Rezko raised more than 250,000 dollars for Obama, much more than he originally admitted, he responded, "I trusted Rezko."

When quoting the preamble to the consitution (something Obama likes to do, quote other great quotes in his "sermons") during his speach on Racism...He started by saying "We the people, in order to form a more perfect union". ...HE GOT THAT WRONG...it is "We the people, of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union". Why would he leave "of the United States" out!:confused3
Why would someone running for the President of the United States mis- quote the opening line of the US Consitution???...ALL while trying to cover their butt?:scared1:

SOME QUOTES FROM HIS BOOK

"The emotion between the races could never be pure..... the other race (white) would always remain just that: menacing, alien and apart."

"There was something about him that made me wary, Obama wrote. "A little too sure of himself, maybe. And white"

"Should the political tides in this country turn ugly, I will side with the Muslilms."

"I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites"

"I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mothers race."

*********************************************

So are these quotes anyone really wants from the President of the United States?

:yay: Where are you from? Kentucky (no hillbilly jokes anyone, please :lmao: )

No jokes from me. I was just thinking about that article that had a topographical map of the Appalachians that DISUNC linked to (much) earlier in this thread. t seemed to show that "hillbilies" tend to vote Hillary.

I know that many of Obama's supporters are quite intelligent, articulate and don't feel the need to attack us. I just find it interesting that the ones that come here and complain about us are part of a thread that has many people doing the same thing in reverse. It's their thread. I don't really care what they say there. It's just interesting.

Part of me really wants to read his books. But the other part of me is afraid that if I did I'd never be able to vote for him if he gets the nomination. :scared:

I read "Audacity of Hope" He really is an amazing writer and manages to play on every liberal feeling and dream I have ever had. However, I just don't believe he can do what he says. I also think he will be one of the most divisive presidents should he get elected.

Some comments from Hillary:

Clinton hits Obama over 'bitter' comments at Compassion Forum
Posted: 08:30 PM ET

GRANTHAM, Pennsylvania (CNN) — Minutes after Barack Obama tore into Hillary Clinton for criticizing his comments about some small-town Americans, the New York senator said again Sunday that those remarks about some could be seen as “elitist” and “patronizing.”

"But from my perspective the characterization of people in a way that really seemed to be elitist and out of touch is really something that we have to overcome," Clinton said at the Compassion Forum, airing on CNN.

"The Democratic Party, to be very blunt about it, has been viewed as a party that didn't understand and respect the values and the way of life of many of our fellow Americans," she said, adding that the fact that the comments came at a “closed door fundraiser in San Francisco” helped reinforce that impression.

She said that Obama was a good man, but compared him to unsuccessful Democratic candidates Al Gore and John Kerry.

"We had two very good men, and men of faith, run for president in 2000 and 2004. But large segments of the electorate concluded that they did not really understand, or relate to, or frankly respect their ways of life," said Clinton.

I think the last statement hits the nail on the head. The last election was decided by the Nascar Dads. They overwhelmingly did not "relate" to Gore or Kerry. Will that change with Obama?

And speaking of Obama - he's really upset with Hillary. I think he needs to get some thicker skin - especially if he wins the nomination:

STEELTON, Pennsylvania (CNN) - A visibly agitated Barack Obama accused Hillary Clinton Sunday of acting like "Annie Oakley …packin’ a six shooter” in her attempts to connect with gun wners, and used some of his most heated language to date to attack her and her campaign for heir reaction to his comments from a now infamous California fundraiser.

"Shame on her!"he told a Steelton crowd.

"I expected this out of John McCain," Obama said in a voice more commanding than the his usual stump tone. "But I've gotta say, I'm a little disappointed when I start hearing the exact same talking points coming out of my Democratic colleague Hillary Clinton. She knows better. Shame on her."

At a closed-press event one week ago, Obama referred to some small-town Pennsylvanians as "bitter" people who "cling to guns and religion."

Clinton has since called him "out of touch" and said the Illinois senator's remarks were "demeaning" and "elitist."

Obama fired back in a room of supporters at a Pennsylvania union hall.

"She's running around talking about how this is an insult to sportsmen, how she values the Second Amendment," he said, his voice rising. "She's talking like she's Annie Oakley! Hillary Clinton's out there like she's on the duck blind every Sunday, [like] she's packin' a six shooter! C'mon! She knows better."

"That's some politics being played by Hillary Clinton," he added. "When Hillary Clinton says I'm out of touch I just have to remind people of the track record." He then went on to attack her for "campaigning for NAFTA" for "a decade" during her husband's administration.

"This is the same person who says she's voting for the Colombia trade deal. [It] turns out that her top adviser, her top strategist was working for the Colombian government to get the bill passed!"

"Who do you think is out of touch?" he shouted. The room erupted with people shouting Clinton's name and even one "'what's her name' is!"

Obama's comments came just a short time after the two Democratic opponents shared a tarmac as they landed in Harrisburg and exited their planes almost simultaneously and only minutes before the pair were to take part in CNN's Compassion Forum.

This has been a concern of mine for a while. I decided to just ignore the angry people on the Obama side and stay over here for now. I got tired of the bickering and really see no other solution. :confused3

Obama sounds strangely a little whiny here. What exactly does he expect while running for office? This isn't a tea party. :confused3

I imagine that if we heard the whole thing it would sound better.

It can be kind of entertaining. You're likely to see pretty much anything on that thread. Take a peek if you dare, you'll see what I mean. ;)
