a celebrity death you still haven't gotten over?

Not sure if everyone would consider them a celebrity, but the loss of Josh Humphrey/EasyWDW still hits hard.

None. There have been many, many sad deaths over the years, but I don't know these people personally and have no lingering sadness about them.

Well put. I did have a chance to meet some as they were guests on newscasts I was working, like Olivia Newton John, but not in my circle of friends.

Mark Foo (surfer/photographer) - died at Mavericks on a mid-sized day
Craig Kelley (snowboarder) - killed by an avalanche while ascending a slope at the start of the day

Both of these guys were "extreme" athletes, but they weren't pushing any limits at the time of each accident. If it can happen to them...

I had a coworker who was an intuitive. One week she told me that she kept getting vibes that someone who was loved the world over was going to die. That weekend, Princess Diana was killed in an accident. But my coworker said she was still getting vibes that someone else who was universally loved was going to die. Then Mother Teresa passed away.

BTW, it still irks me that Charles and Camilla sit on the throne after they did Diana so dirty.

There are some deaths, celebrity, personal or other, that I think about from time to time and can still feel various degrees of sadness about. I am not sure if this qualifies any as “haven’t gotten over” them. Some hit a little harder than others at the time they occurred, but feel I have come to accept them all.

his death hit me hard. he had brought so much joy to so many people and always seemed so genuinly kind. what further enforced his loss to me was that I had never heard of someone dieing from complications of strep and then within a couple of years I lost 2 personal friends to the identical complication (one in her late 20's/other in early 40's). any hint of suspected strep in anyone I know and I am insistant they seek medical attention.


Phil Hartman-it was just so out of the blue, so tragic. all I could/can think of is those 2 young children in the home who lost both their parents that terrible day.

Phil Hartman-it was just so out of the blue, so tragic. all I could/can think of is those 2 young children in the home who lost both their parents that terrible day.

I was coming here to say Phil Hartman. I was a young adult at the time, and his death was shocking to me at the time.

Can't believe I scrolled this far and didn't see Jimmy Buffett...any parrotheads out there? He lived a long life with so many adventures, so don't feel as sad as for someone who's life and talent were cut short. But still...loved his music - particularly the lesser-known but amazing songs that didn't make radio airplay.

Karen Carpenter was a tragedy - she was absolute fire on the drums and that voice! So much potential for more great work and didn't get the chance.

Born and raised a parrothead! Jimmy Buffett’s death is definitely one I haven’t gotten over. And totally agree about his lesser-known songs.
