Oddly enough, DS just took a college class on this whole idea of "passing" as it's called, as another identity, culture, gender, class, etc. It was called Crossing Boundaries and I found it pretty interesting. One of his projects was to report on a movie where one of the characters passes as someone else. He watched Maid in Manhattan, but we thought of so many choices - Tootsie, Coming to America, The Bird Cage, Trading Places, even Cinderella!!

Watching it immediately made me think of Hilaria Baldwin. I wondered if the movie was written and filmed before or after Hilaria was outted?
Also I mentioned a few pages back that I know of a chef who, years later and moving to a different state, he became "European" with an indeterminate European accent.
So I guess this really is more common a thing people do than I realized.
