Hilaria Baldwin

Oddly enough, DS just took a college class on this whole idea of "passing" as it's called, as another identity, culture, gender, class, etc. It was called Crossing Boundaries and I found it pretty interesting. One of his projects was to report on a movie where one of the characters passes as someone else. He watched Maid in Manhattan, but we thought of so many choices - Tootsie, Coming to America, The Bird Cage, Trading Places, even Cinderella!!

It must be a thing some of them like. On a non-marriage/relationship level, I remember hearing that when actresses were auditioning for Jerry Maguire, that when they'd go in the room and meet Tom Cruise, they all get starry-eyed and act so impressed at meeting him. Whereas, Renee Zellweger went in and treated him as though he was a "normal" person, not a star, and that's why he wanted her.

I understand wanting to be treated as normal. I can imagine the whole Hollywood scene as a bunch of posers. Having someone come in and act normal would be refreshing.

But the, "I had no idea who he was" part is BS. Give me a break. And the fact that the men in these cases couldn't pick up on this bologna? Well, makes me think their brain wasn't the part of their body that was receiving the most attention. Just sayin'...

Well, if history repeats itself, Alec will punch a photographer or hurl a slur at one....possibly both. I do really think he's a very talented actor. But he has gotten away with going ballistic on people over the years....and then kind of doing an apology tour on late night TV. Back in 2013 he was on Letterman....on an apology tour. And he speaks of his Spanish wife, and even imitates her accent. So, I'm really starting to wonder if he was legit duped by her, especially early on in the relationship.

She married Alec Baldwin, enough said.
The whole situation is sad. His social and mental thought process history is sad. His first daughter is lucky to have not been raised by his hysteria and low level of intelligence.
I hope their children are taken care of in some way; the parents are not that smart and the children will eventually pay for it.
It has been a troubled situation for years......

I saw a comment it’s her niece’s. Or maybe she did go through a surrogate to get another girl?

I saw on IG that they welcomed a new baby. Adoption, surrogate? I saw it and thought of this thread. :rotfl:
Just what this nut needs. Another child to compare skin tone with. Pretending she is a POC. Teaching her child that mommy is a different color than the rest of the family (when in fact she is a white woman from Boston).

I pray an adoption agency didn't allow this liar and psychopath of a woman to have another child in her custody.

The skin color thing makes no sense to me at all. People from Spain are European/white. I have seen so many comments throughout the whole scandal about her being found out for being "just a white woman" but her claiming to be from Spain would still make her "just a white woman".

There's a new movie out with this same premise, if anyone is interested. It's a Hallmark movie called Mix Up in the Mediterranean and it's a funny rom-com. It stars Jeremy Jordan (of Supergirl & Smash,) who plays twin brothers who are chefs living in different parts of the U.S. The brothers are on the phone and one starts mumbling in French. The other brother says something like, "Why do you keep pretending you are French? You're from ALASKA."

If anyone wants to see Mix Up in the Mediterranean, it re-airs on the Hallmark Channel:
Sat 3/6 at 5pm ET
Fri 3/12 at 11am ET

:lmao:Watching it immediately made me think of Hilaria Baldwin. I wondered if the movie was written and filmed before or after Hilaria was outted? :scratchin Also I mentioned a few pages back that I know of a chef who, years later and moving to a different state, he became "European" with an indeterminate European accent. :rolleyes1 So I guess this really is more common a thing people do than I realized.

Maybe it's because I know a few people who did this. I actually know somebody who pulled a "Hilaria." Steven and I used to work for a 5-star catering company in NYC. Steven was a very junior, assistant-chef, 👨‍🍳 from the mid-west, with an American accent. About 15 years later, now named Stefan, he finally owns his own restaurant on the west coast. He travels to Europe every summer to bring back new recipes & techniques he's learned there. He now has an indeterminate European accent, especially when he's speaking to his rich clientele, who, I guess, think he's European since his accent and recipes are.

Nothing about it on SNL. Guess Alex can dish it but not take it.
Glass jaw, like most of the protected hothouse flowers of the world, meanwhile those who need protection get none. Alec Et.al will be crying all the way to the bank.

There are a lot of signs I'm getting to "a certain age." Today's is I had no idea who Hilaria Baldwin was or why I should care until Twitter decided I needed to know.

Twitter was wrong.
I must be of a "certain age" above you because I don't even know how to Twitter. I can't even follow much news articles online because all it is anymore is copy and pastes of Twitter and then post of the Twitter and when I try to click on it or do anything, it wants me to log in. Like all I want to do is read what everyone is talking about because I assume that is what comments are, but it wants me to log in. I don't get it and I'm not too worried about getting it. Just another time waster to me.

And some of us have deleted out Twitter accounts. We can see the links either .
