High Heels--am I crazy?

Dont let your fashion be dictated by frumpy women who think birkenstocks or crocs look "good". They are the ones who need their heads examined, not you.

Ouch! That stung. I guess I'm frumpy and need my head examined. All because I find certain shoes comfortable. Well, in the end, I am in Disney and having a wonderful time with my family. I couldn't give a rat's behind if you think I should have my head examined. Really, I just think that what you said was mean and uncalled for. You can say you don't like a particular style of shoe without attacking people who DO like them.

After my daughter was born, my feet just kind of gave up. If I don't have supportive, comfortable shoes on, my feet start aching. I can't even go barefoot for any length of time anymore.

Same here! Even my shins would ache at the end of the day. Someone told me to go see a foot doctor and that is the best thing I ever did for myself. The doc made a cast of my feet and made these custom orthotic inserts. I had to pay out of pocket (not cheap! Maybe $400) but it makes a world of difference.

But don't call me frumpy b/c I'm wearing a type of shoe that keeps my feet happy - that's just plain rude...not to mention it's prejudiced...you're making judgements about people based solely on what they're wearing - it's the same as making judgements about people based on eye, hair, and skin color.

I'm sure many of the frumpy shoe wearers of the world, while maybe not the most fashionable, have other gifts that you may not possess. Say, for instance, your IQ was not in line with theirs -- you wouldn't want them to call you *stupid*, would you? Or if they make more money than you, that you are *poor trash*. An insult is an insult, geez!

I wear whatever gets these dogs through all the parks, commando style. Luckily, I'm in the majority there!

I know I had a pair of boots with a solid heal that I could walk miles in with no problems. Stilleto style heal...I would say don't risk it, that and if you hit something just right (uneven payment,crack), take a fall and are hurt that will end up putting a damper on the rest of the trip.

I don't always appreciate tennis shoes, my last trip as bad as my feet hurt from being confined I probably would have been better with sandals

OP, I didn't read this whole thread and am not about to get into the arguement but, don't assume its going to be that cold in Novemeber. In our last 3 trips at Thanksgiving the weather has been 3 different ways. And many times in the middle of the day its rather warm. So I do capris with flats and bring a jacket.

As for wearing boots with your jeans, does it have to be stilettos? How about a boot with a wider heel? I wear those day in and day out in the winter and find them more comfortable than tennies. (still wouldn't wear them at disney, but whatever)



Calling people frumpy because of footwear? Now, thats what is crazy. I do think I would rather wear an ugly shoe than have such an ugly attitude.

The biggest fur store I have ever seen was in Texas. Even as a child I wondered... WTH do people in Texas need fur coats?

This thread is hilarious!!! People have oft stated in this very thread that they wear certain ugly shoes because they're comfortable and they could give a rip about fashion at WDW, yet when someone says that they're frumpy, oh my goodness, internet-blows are rained down upon them!! I thought it was the heels-wearers who are too concerned w/ what other people think!
