Hiatus chat thread

Sounds like my sisters and I growing up, and there is 6 years between the eldest and youngest, with me smack dab in the middle.
Yeah my oldest just turned 7 and the baby is 2. If there is a car, they all want the same one. Heaven forbid they SHARE! A Cars, Jake, Star Wars shirt, 3 of the same. I kid you not. It is frustrating!

I'm here. Working today and tomorrow. Today, in fact, is probably one of my busiest work days of the year. Will be slammed with emails and phone calls all day. Gonna throw back a LOT of Diet Mt. Dews today, my friends.

That Dustin thread was an unnecessary hot mess. And not even because of the person who made the thread.

Anyho, Star Wars was great.
Felt down when someone was offed, because I would have liked said person to have screen time with another person in next film.

R2D2 and a black R2 unit was out for pics at the "premiere" at Disney Springs, with a red carpet and everything.

I loved Star Wars. I binged watched Jessica Jones this week. What a ride. I highly recommend it. I now need to rewatch something with David Tennant being not a villain.

I'm also still here...!!

Star Wars was amazing, saw it at Disneyland's DTD this past Saturday.
I'm totally going to see it again at the Cinerama Dome in Hollywood this weekend.

In other news, today is the last day of the year for me at work....!!!

Howdy y'all! Late joining this thread, but wanted to say hello. I will be heading to my hometown in Georgia on Thursday morning and will be there until Sunday. I don't have a big extended family and am not married so in recent years our holidays have been very low key. This year is a little more exciting as it is our first with my 10 month old nephew. I'm glad we finally have a kiddo in the family to focus all the attention on! A couple of years ago we started having my Mom's amazing spaghetti with meat sauce on Christmas and it stuck. Kind of nice to do something totally different and not have days and days of leftovers! We do some fun breakfast things though. I always look forward to sausage balls on Christmas morning the most! Yum!

Christmas Eve I always go to church with my parents and then stop by one of my best friends parents house for their annual party. Great food and the only eggnog I would ever touch! It's so yum. It has ice cream in it. :) Christmas night I always go over to another best friends house and hang out with her family for a bit. Plus I usually get to see several other friends that I grew up with while I am there. Fun times!

Just got back today from a little trip to Stone Mountain Park in Georgia with the 4 kids I am a nanny for. They do a lot of really fun Christmas stuff there, so I took them for a couple of days as their big Christmas gift this year. It was SO much fun! I'm with the kiddos all day tomorrow and am excited about that. They are getting older so I love it when they are all out of school. I've been with them 7 years and my last day with them is January 4th. Moving to Georgia for a few months before the big move to Orlando this summer. The next month is going to be a crazy roller coaster of emotions!

Feels like I've been celebrating Christmas all month long since my WDW trip early this month. Christmas lights and decorations sort of pale in comparison after the Osborne Lights and all the beautiful decorations at MK and Epcot! :)

Hope you all have a wonderful long weekend with family and loved ones. Merry Christmas!

Working again today, should be much more relaxed around the office. Gotta pick up a few gifts at lunchtime, then tonight we'll knock out some Christmas viewing that we usually hold until the day or two before Christmas....

-"Merry Christmas Mr. Bean"
-"Emmett Otter's Jug-Band Christmas"

And I'm sure my kiddos will find a way to watch "Elf" for the SIXTEENTH TIME THIS MONTH

we've actually tried to think of things for the kids to play together as gifts this year. One thing they were good about playing with together was Disney Infinity 2.0 so we are getting them 3.0 to share (and then each is getting a playset), we are getting them a children's guitar to share (and the gift is really each getting time with me teaching them to play) and then we got them some board games, some of which are designed that you have to work together to accomplish something so everyone wins rather than there being winners and losers ....

... we'll see how it goes ;)

Is this the episode when he has the "adventure" with the turkey? I don't want to spoil it for others but if it is, LOL. No one celebrates Christmas like Mr. Bean :-)
Oh yes - that one cracks me up every time, thanx for he smiles! :)

Very nice "sharing" gifts - good to see thoughtful parenting!

Well it's Christmas Eve here!!
I made the mistake of going to the shopping center at 9pm last night (they're doing 32 hour trade) and wow. So many people!
And shocking... Mostly men!!
I only went because we organized to get presents from my niece (4) to give to my sister as she only has gifts she's bought for herself, so we took Grace shopping locally to pick a couple of things (a sports bra and a nightie) and I'd also bought her a makeup case, but then there is a brand of handbag and accessories we all love (Mimco) and they put their make up bags on sale yesterday, and the only place to easily get them... That shopping center. So we made the trek. It was manic!!

Merry Christmas Eve, Jes! Whenever I watch the round the world New Year's Eve countdown and they show Australia ringing in the New Year from Sydney Harbour (I think its the iconic Opera House cam shot), I always think, good on them, those Aussies. Getting their hands on the champagne before the Canadians can grab a glass. 'Cause you know, we would drink it all (if we could) :-)

I know, I know. And I kinda feel bad for the men in the mall. Especially those in the Victoria's Secret/La Senza shop. Sort of a darned if you do and darned if you don't situation. Get the item too small, you're in the dog house. Get the item too big, you're really in the dip. Really, just give us ladies tickets to WDW! Then everyone's happy :-) and no one gets hurt.

Haha, well, we are currently 16 hours ahead of the East coast and 17 hours ahead of the West coast (we're on daylight savings in Victoria) so i'll be opening presents tomorrow and y'all will just be having Christmas eve dinner!

It's Christmas Eve there already?

NO SPOILERS!!!
Lol.
I've seen a post on buzzfeed or something (something along the lines of "25 tweets that will make you hate the world" or something to that effect) and one brainiac posted this:
