Hi-Speed Internet @ Port Orleans ?

In my (limited) experience, I've never had a continuous charge, whether you use it continuously or not. I've always had "log on/log off" abilities, when you're only charged for the actual time you use it. And the .75 charge was explained to me in great detail by the CM upon registration. I just thought the total charges were steep...

$9.95/day is pretty standard for high-end or resort hotels. A lot of chains offer free wireless or hi-speed as a way to attract business, along with free local calls and free breakfast. A destination resort charges for all of these because they can. You're going to go there anyway for other reasons.

Most of your high end hotels still charge for high speed. The charge is around the 9-10 price range for all day. There have been a few hotels that did have an hourly charge but by the time you bought 2 hours you could have the whole day. I haven't encountered the 75 cent reconnect fee though. Are you sure they weren't talking about dial up access? That is 75 cents for every phone call.

We just returned last night from POR. Here's the story. Yes, they do have high speed connections in the rooms. HOWEVER, the charge to use it is $9.95 per continuous 24 hour periods. If you log off during that time, you have to pay an additional .75 to re-log on. REDICULOUS!

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the update... good to know at least they have High-speed access in POR now. I knew that disney charged a fee for connectivity and was willing to pay that, since I need to do some work during our vacation (I know, I know, why call it a vacation) Hopefully someone can clarify on the reconnection fee or if that was a mistake by the CM you spoke with.
