Hi from PA! From the Welcome Board

Hi everyone! Checking in from Pittsburgh (North Hills specifically!) on this sunny Tuesday! :) I'm from North Hills originally, DH is from Penn Hills, and we both went to Clarion for our undergrad. Glad to see everyone here!

:welcome: Northhills is a wonderful place, love the Franklin Covey in the Ross Park Mall!

It's a long story really, but mainly I think a change of scenery would be good for me. I'm not a "new" student, I'll be a sophomore when I get up there, but I'm suppose to be a junior. My local community college keeps dropping my classes for some reason, and it's getting a tad much for me LOL.

So how much do you think I'll freeze my behind off my first winter?

Well, I won't lie---it'll be cold. Jan & Feb are pretty nasty, other than that--it's just a little bit nasty!
Do you know where you are staying? If on campus I would recommend Earp Hall, very nice all girls dorm, Rose would be my 2nd fav. Off Campus Darrow apts & College Park are both ok.

I haven't been there for a very long time myself.
WOW- Adamstown. You are sooo close to me.
Somebody was just telling me tonight that go to the Adamstown pool during the summers and that its a great pool !!

The pool is okay, I guess. It's bigger than others around here. It's getting to be too small, though, as everyone seems to think that Adamstown is the place to live nowadays. It used to be a nice small town, now it's full of Antiques... UGH!!!!

My DD is going to PSU - University Park in the fall also. The older DD is already there. We are...Penn State

Erie-ites, I think we're up to 3 or 4

I live in the 'burgh now, but I used to live in Erie. Does that count?

My favorite Erie joke:

Question: What do you do in the summertime in Erie for fun?
Answer: If it falls on a Saturday we have a picnic.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hi everyone! I'm from PA as well, about an hr north of Harrisburg. It's great to see so many people from PA here!

Hello everyone my name is Jess, I live in central PA. I am going to Disney in June and I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!:goodvibes  If anyone wants to talk about anything or email me let me know. hope to talk to you all soon!!!!!!!!

YEP!! It's open. I was there yesterday. I asked the lady that worked there if it was a "true" outlet. She said they carry the same stuff as the store, just no media. They had the same prices and stuff as my store in the local mall.
I was soooo disappointed !!

I agree - I was out there a couple of weeks ago and although they have a couple of clearance racks, nothing better than the Disney Store at the Exton Mall! I did get a Bambi doll for my little one for 99 cents.

Where in Lancaster County are you from?? As you can see, I live in Adamstown... we may be neighbors!! :yay:

Not too far here either - just east of Lancaster County - I tell people I'm 25 minutes from the outlets. Gives them a better idea of how close I really am to Lancaster! I'm originally from South Jersey, so no one can understand how I made it way out here. I love it, though!

I get that all the time. I am originally from Philly, and moved out to Berks County 12 years ago. People thought I was nuts :lmao: Best move I ever made.

Can someone enlighten me about the store Sharp Shopper?
I'm looking for locations, prices, do they accept coupons, and would it be worth a trip there?
Thanks

They have a website. www.smartshopper.com. Don't ask me why it's different :confused3 I just made my first visit to one this week and it was so worth the trip. I got 2 carts of groceries for $120. I don't know if they take coupons and you have to watch the prices. Some of their items were more expensive than a regular grocery store but if you know your pricing, you should enjoy it.

Another central PA'er here.... York County to be precise.... of course, as close as I am to the river, I'm not too far from Lancaster either.
