Thinking of a quick trip in Aug. We haven't been to either HH or VB which would be more fun, accessible by airport? And available then?

Lots more to consider probably. Are you going with kids? Looking for side trips, golf, water sports or just veg on a beach?

First off, ressies will be difficult at HHI at this late juncture, not sure about VB. Of course you can fly direct to HHI but budget concious folks like flying into Savannah. Charleston is a good second choice.

Plenty of threads on this same topic with good opinions of both places. Either way, you can't go wrong.

We went to HH last year and are trying VB this August. We loved HH but were disappointed in the size of the waves......gotta have those big ones so we have our fingers crossed and are doing VB. I researched high and low tide timetables and booked our trip accordingly!!!

Unfortunately at VB you must watch for the rip tides and the all too frequent shark alerts. The locals do not seem to mind, but last year two people swimming near the Disney Resort got caught up in the rip tides & if it were not for a lifeguard, they could have been in big trouble.

Just my opinion, but we like VB much better. We tried HH for the first time last month, and although it was up to Disney standards in every way, it just seemed different. The interior decor was very, very nice. I think what I didn't care for was the resort was not "by itself". It was almost inter-twined with other establishments. I also prefer to have an on site restaurant. I know there are many fine restaurants close by, but I still like the convenience of on site.

Vero is more of a self contained resort, and I never have to leave the property if I choose. I also like the architecture of the resort.

I'm sure you'll enjoy either one... :drinking:
