Our local radio station had a spot last week that made me literally say WTH out loud.

The morning hosts went and visited a woman battling cancer. It is apparently very, very aggressive. She didn't have the money to buy her kids gifts for Christmas, and she was getting ready to be readmitted to the hospital for surgery and treatment. The radio station brought her some gifts (very sweet) and money to help her out.

As soon as they were done talking to the woman, who was crying and thanking everyone for lifting her spirits, the female host says, "And now we're dedicating a special Christmas song just to you..."

The Christmas Shoes started playing.

WHAT THE HELL? I mean it's a depressing song about a kid buying shoes for his dying mother!!! WHY is that a special song to play for this woman?? I couldn't believe that they chose THAT particular song.

I despise that song with every ounce of my being. And that new Mariah Carey Santa song is getting up there, quick.

I went on youtube to see the "Hey Santa" video and it's so cheesy, but I do like the song, LOL.

Christmas Shoes is depressing, haven't heard it at all this year.

My NJ/NY radio station overplays the Rob Thomas "Merry NY Christmas" song, honestly if I hear it one more time i'm going to scream. Sadly, they start playing the songs so early that by the time Christmas rolls around everyone is sick of the music.
