Well just cleaning up this morning. Micco went to help his parents, they had a tree down, we just had a lot of branches and leaves scattered about, thank God. The island got hit pretty hard, with 55 mph winds, and some rain, but not as much as Kathy. Lots of trees down, power out, stuff like that. But today is a beautiful day. The sun is finally shining!

Kathy - Glad you are back safe and sound. When you get settled, can you pm me the info for the lady in Rome that you are doing the tour with.

JoAnn - Would much rather fly out of Newark than JFK, I think the price is going to be close to the same. For us it is easier, only 20 minutes, where JFK could take up to an hour and a half with traffic.

Debi

OMG, LUCEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You HAVE to include Ken & I if you go see Wicked in January!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :Pinkbounc

Debs, I will check Newark before I book, I will call you if that's ok!!! My early checks have indicated cheaper flights at JFK but I will double check!! :goodvibes

We haven't had any damage at the beach, there's been "rents" sightings, they are in one piece and driving back from Delaware on the back bays!!! :lmao:

Thx Jenny for checking, you are so sweet!!!

What's this about Kathy and WHERE IS THE TRIP REPORT????

9:40 PM - yep, still awake
company just left - we had a great dinner - shrimp, steak, chicken on the grill...perfect night, except, this is weird, too cold to sit outside to eat!

I made a perfect cheesecake for dessert (reason i'm saying perfect - doesn't always happen that it is THAT good)....

Love the fact that we have off tomorrow, very happy, and NO plans, except laundry. :cool1:

JoaNNie: are you serious about meeting us in NYC for Wicked - we are staying over a night, we will order the tickets on-line - i don't think they would be available at half price - would you want to stay over also, we like the Doubletree on Times Square. We would get up there early on a Saturday, stand in line for half price tickets for afternoon matinee, then go to an evening performance of Wicked. Our family LOVES Broadway.

DEBS: question - is Brianna coming with us to NYC in October????
If Brianna comes, we may bring Tyler too. We haven't said anything to him yet, until we hear from you.

Kathy - a report, please.

I will second Jennies recommendation for Wicked, we saw it it San Francisco after the cruise last year amazing!!!
Of course your other alternative is to wait and see it in London before or after the Med cruise as it arrives here in September this year....just think Lucy another reason for doing the Med!!!!

It's 7:00am here and I'm procrastinating leaving the house because that means school has really started!!!!!!

I'm finally settled back in. We were at the pool most of the day yesterday and then we had 18 people over last night for steamed crabs. I've been craving them all summer and we finally got around to it last night. They were delicious but such a mess. The weather was perfect to sit outside last night.

Our trip was great. We started out in Coronado for 8 days. We got to see all of our friends. We went to Del Mar Racetrack and Sea World. We spent a lot of time at the beach. The kids got to take a tour of their new school. Ted lined up a moonlighting job with a great practice. One of the hospitals he'll cover is right in Coronado. He'll work part-time for this group during his last 3 years of active duty and then join them as a partner when he retires from the Navy. We looked at a few houses but it's still too early to do anything. We'll be listing our house for sale in the next few weeks.

From Coronado, Ted flew back to Virginia to work for a week while the kids and I flew to WDW. We met my girlfriend and her 2 youngest kids at MCO. We arrived within 10 minutes of each other. We took the DME to BWV and had dinner at Cape May Cafe that evening. I bought each of her kids a pin lanyard as my kids had their lanyards and pins with them. Owen and Amy each gave Gregory and Meagan 6 of their pins and 2 new pin traders were born. They were all obsessed with pin trading throughout the trip. We were very disappointed with Garden Grocer. I scheduled our delivery for 6pm that evening. I got a call from them at 7pm saying delivery would be more like 8pm. No problem. I starting calling them at 10pm and finally got our delivery at MIDNIGHT. Had I known that we would have no milk or water for the kids that evening I would have bought these items at the General Store but of course it was closed by then. The guy (OWNER) was rude and unprofessional, telling me that he had been working 18+ hours that day and to give him a break. I'd get my order eventually. I've used wegoshop.com twice before and loved them. I'll never use Garden Grocer again. On Monday we went to MGM. We took a break in the afternoon to swim at our pool. I used a computer at the Business Center at the Boardwalk to order my Jimmy Buffett tickets. We went back to MGM that evening and saw Fantasmic. On Tuesday we went to Epcot. We were the first family at the Character Connection that morning so we got a special certificate which all of the characters signed as we had photos taken. Amy got scared by a bear (I think it was one of the Country Bear Jamboree bears). She cried and cried. The poor bear felt terrible and went and stood in the corner. We rode Soarin and Test Track. We went to Turtle Talk With Crush. It was great. I had never done that before. The kids loved it. We took a swim break that afternoon and then returned to Epcot that evening for dinner at LeCellier. We walked around the World Showcase before dinner and I got my Limoncello (spelling?) Margarita in Italy. Very tasty! Patrick was our waiter at LeCellier. He was fantastic...very entertaining. We went outside to watch Illuminations before dessert. I had an ice wine martini and couple of glasses of wine. Good night. On Wednesday we started the day at the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique. The girls had their hair, nails and make-up done in true princess style. The boys had the cool doo done to their hair. They seemed to enjoy it as much as the girls. We then went to the Magic Kingdom for lunch at Cinderella's Royal Table. Everyone enjoyed themselves. We rode rides for the rest of the day and then ate dinner at Pecos Bills. On Thursday we went to Animal Kingdom in the morning and then back to the Boardwalk for an afternoon break. We were going to swim but it rained so the kids were happy to relax in the room for a couple of hours before heading to the Magic Kingdom. We had dinner at Chef Mickey's that night and then went back to the resort to swim. We flew out Friday afternoon.

The kids and I arrived in Rhode Island a few hours ahead of Ted so we went out to dinner with my dad and then picked Ted up at the airport and headed for Newport. We had a nice, relaxing week. The weather was cold and rainy. We only got a couple of nice days. We took the ferry to Block Island. We enjoyed spending time with my family. It was a good week. We flew home on Friday evening.

The kids start school tomorrow. It's hard to believe we'll be back at Disney in 5 weeks and then on the Vegas. Those October trips will end our travel season. We stay put after that until Easter Break.

I finally caught up on all of the happenings on the board. I started out trying to read it backwards...too confusing.

Happy Belated Birthday Bob!

Congratulations Bri!!!! Keep up the good work!

Debi, Good luck in your new store. It sounds like a good move.

Alex, I'm sorry about your car.

Jenny, I like your parenting style! Way to go with Mallory.

Welcome back Kathy!!

Yes, Lucy, I am serious about going to NYC to see Wicked in January (my birthday month and Jenny is my birthday twin!) Keep me posted!! Right now we are scheduled for the first weekend in WDW for Ken's Half Marathon and every other weekend is open! :cool1:

Of course your other alternative is to wait and see it in London before or after the Med cruise as it arrives here in September this year....just think Lucy another reason for doing the Med!!!!...ah, Lynn, NY: 2 hours from our home, on a bus; London: 6 hrs., hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
no commitment (MED) yet from Lucy. Bob and Lucy still discussing....no commitment either way...waiting to hear airfares...that are getting really scary ($$$$$$$$).

JoAnn: January 27th, evening show, tickets would be around $120 with taxes, row T, orchestra...gotta commit soon - notice, evening show, we will get 1/2 price tickets for another afternoon show.
OH, THE MARATHON, did you book me? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
(I'm sure there is a bench along the way to watch Ken! :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl: )

Debs, the new shop - we will be able to see it? I'm hoping. :Pinkbounc :cheer2:
Did Alex get a job at Cheesecake Factory???????
Bri have another week off?
we no longer hear from your children, what's up with that.

Kathy: thanks for the report...love ANY report from WDW when I can't be there.

Doing housework today, had company the past two days - I'm done.
:laundy:

LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCEEEEEEEEEEE!!

Love that idea, January 27th, this could be my birthday celebration w/e. The question is how many tix?? I would guess 4 since I know my Jess is dying to see that show too. How does that sound? I would really like to do this........ :goodvibes Please let me know what I need to do...............

Happy Labor Day to all!!! :beach: No more beach for us or at least limited beach time at best................. :smooth:

Wish me luck tomorrow, first day of school tomorrow!!!

So there I was at the side of the road with DisDaddy, Tracy and the AAA guy.....and who calls but BOB!! The next thing you know, we've arranged Broadway show tix for my birthday week! Now, what does that say about friendship!!! :grouphug:

In the meantime, my car, which was recently serviced for a broken gas gauge, HAD RUN OUT OF GAS! So my DD19, my Dad and I waited for an hour and a half for the service guy to DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Then, Pops, goes out and gets gas as a last attempt to avoid towing the car and........the car was fixed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :moped: :smokin: :smooth:

Did I mention that I was 100 miles from home and school starts tomorrow :teacher: , how shall we say it?........................I WAS IN PANIC MODE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :bitelip:

So, how did everyone else spend Labor Day? :confused3 :woohoo: :hourglass popcorn::  :dance3: :groom:

7:00 AM....Let me wish Joannie GOOD LUCK today...of all of us, I think SHE needs it the most - 1st day of school, car breaks down....it can only get better?! :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :cool1:

SO, anyone else, if you are interested in that weekend, we've got tickets - go on-line and get some...the more the merrier....hey Joannie, it would ALSO be my birthday celebration, one month early!
DEBS, maybe you could join us in the City for dinner, if you don't wanna see the show, we are going to the evening show - it will be Christmas presents for the kids...TYLER is our Broadway geek...he absolutely LOVES it (i remember those days when they used to collect trading cards, it was alot cheaper)! :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

off to school, today is a Monday for us - our university plays these games every semester, just to confuse ME!

Joannie ~ I hope your day today was better than yesterday! It is "the test", right??? ;) Good luck this year!!!

Wow! The Wicked plans are in full swing! YOu guys are going to LOVE IT!! I am addicted to it like Tara!!

We had a nice weekend despite the "cooler" weather. We tried to go to King's Island, but there wasn't a parking spot in the lot!! I took the kids for three hours and they got on two roller coasters. They were understanding after that about leaving!! We did the big 30 minute fireworks show on the river Sunday night and saw the Reds/Giants on Monday (yes, that dang Barry Bonds hit a home run!) The Reds are slowly going south.....stinkin' up the place!!

I am glad everyone's weather has settled down now. I HATE storms!

Cheers! :grouphug:

I have something important to do this weekend, I think it's the first weekend of the football season and I have to see how my men do is that right??

In the match preview it says my men will lose but I'm ever hopeful my running backs will pull one out of the bag..
I watched a movie about the Titians last night it got me right in the mood so in future I want you all to address me as coach ok :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

As I type I even convince myself that I know what I'm talking about :rotfl2:

Unfortunately, I think you know more than I do at this point, Lynn!!!!!! :thumbsup2

Day 2 went well today, I'm tired and I haven't worked out in two days but.........things are looking up!! :teeth:

Hope all are well, check in with updates!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :Pinkbounc

Where the HECK is Debs? or her family? I'm getting quite concerned.

Nothing much going on here, except I'm TIRED - I'm getting just TOO OLD to do this job...home/university...I NEED another long weekend, and it isn't gonna happen for a long time.

Tomorrow night is the first high school football game of the year and Bob will work the grill and Lucy will.... :chat: :hyper2:

Anyone else have anything more exciting happening in their lives? :confused3

:moped: Well I was going to write a second post last night, but I DIDN'T WANT TO BE ACCUSED OF BABBLING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl2:

Anyway, anyone else been TIVOing Rosie on the View???? Too funny!

First week of school done, 39 to go!!! :rotfl: I'm in teacher heaven, great class.........................  :Pinkbounc :cheer2:

Where is Jenny, Lynn, Kathy & Debi??? Sheesh! WHERE IS PAPA BILL??? :guilty:

Hope are planning a nice weekend.............update us!!! :grouphug:

I am here in Cincinnati. Mark surprised us with a suite this weekend which is always nice to spread out the kids once in a while!

Kind of a rough week....my back has really flaired up. I think the scar tissue is swollen. I am not walking well, nor can I bend over! Makes it a tough one to tie the shoes!!! :lmao: I am trying like heck to use anti inflamatories to reduce the swelling. Mark keeps telling me to go to the doc. but he'll want an MRI and I AM NOT getting in that tube again. I have had open sided ones too. No better.....a tube is a tube!!! I look like a 90 year old woman when I walk...

School is going o.k. I feel behind the 8 ball, but what's new?? I like my kids as challenging as they are..... Remember? I have a room full of Lucys!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao:

JoAnn ~ it sounds like you are off to a good start!! :cheer2:

Lucy ~ I sure wish things weren't so complicated at work for you. How is your boss doing???

Where is everyone going Thanksgiving weekend??? Mark is talking Cleveland....not me. If I go that far without the kids, MIL and FIL will fuss (within 1 1/2 hours of their house). I AM NOT GOING THERE to their house.....PERIOD!! I am thinking a getaway for Christmas shopping! :rolleyes1

:cloud9: I'M IN, Jenny!Ok, who's in for the girls shopping trip over THXGiving................you know we earned it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :Pinkbounc DEbs, Kathy, Luce,....LYNN??,,,,mom????

Seriously...... :woohoo: :dance3: :yay: intriguing concept, what do you have in mind twinsie???

I'm having a rough w/e with my second loved one, I CAN'T DO THIS ANYMORE, I QUIT!!!!! :guilty:

I'm there for you, Jenny!! The only good thing about rough groups is that the year goes faster! I got thru last year BY PLANNING A LOT OF TRIPS!!! :grouphug: :moped: Seriously, take care of yourself! Go to the doctor!!! Take that vaca day!!! (Sorry, I couldn't resist!) :smooth:

Hey, Loose, IT'S THE WEEKEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :joker: :wave2: :bounce: :cool1: :thumbsup2

But how do we get there, boat? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Been doing baking/cooking today - whenever i'm a little down-and-out, you can find me in the kitchen. :cheer2: I don't know, I'm just missing you guys a WHOLE lot...and any plans of WDW are far off...I want to go back to the beginning of July when the countdown had begun, and it was far from being over. Why did that time go so quickly and this time drags by, well, it isn't dragging, but it isn't fun. :sad2: :sad2: :sad1:

Don't even start me on 20 yr. olds, JoAnn!!!!! :furious: :furious: :furious:

Our first football game was fun, only because I could care LESS about the game and alot about chatting with EVERYONE (does that surprise anyone? :yay: :yay: ). Bob even got to relax, the concession stands ran out of food, honestly, our first home game and everyone ate and ate and ate. We ran out of hamburgers, dogs, and the homemade soups....we usually don't eat till the end of the game...no food left.

Bob is working 4-9 tonight...I should be doing :laundy: ...didn't I just do that LAST weekend? :scared1:
