***Hey, Hey! Come right in and plan, OFFICIAL OCTOBER 2017 thread!!!***

Yes, I hear you...we may even try to book a Minnie Van for return to our resort that night...seems like it just might be a good investment rather than waiting 30-45 minutes in line for a bus.

Regarding Minnie Van:
Is currently available at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts. Guests staying at those resorts can simply open up the Lyft app on their mobile device to request the point-to-point service.

The current cost for each trip is a flat $20. The Minnie Vans will be driven by Disney Cast Members on park property only. They will accommodate up to six guests and will provide two versatile car seats so even the tiniest of passengers can travel in style. The Minnie Van service will be available between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 12:30 a.m. As with everything, those hours are always subject to change.

Not sure what resort you're staying at but if it's not listed you have to consider another option.

So I got an email a while back about my flight be changed. I didn't look very closely as I was busy with other things. Well I logged on and they changed it so I had a 5 hour layover in houston on my way home. So I called and they were able to change me to an hour and a half layover in Chicago. I also leave 25 minutes later in the morning. So I'm much happier.

I tried to get the fall discount on my reservation, but they didn't have any offferings at MS movies. Probably because it's booked full up.

I'm starting to get really excited and thinking about my plans for FP's. 79 days till Disney!

FYI Not sure if you're aware, Airline Officials now suggest getting to Orlando International Airport 3 Hours Early! Link:
http://www.wdwinfo.com/news-stories...-orlando-international-airport-3-hours-early/

Not sure how WDW Resorts are handling this so be sure to ask when you arrive. We had a breakfast ADR that we had to cancel.

Just FYI it's the last day because the system does not know your intent. Based on your example, it sees 5 consecutive days of FP and removing the last day is the most "logical" thing to do. That is why if you have hard to get FastPasses on your final day such as Flight of Passage or Frozen, and you are using the party ticket to cover a MK day admission (4pm and later) then you should drop those party day fast pass reservations.

Thanks! Good to have everyone armed with all the information they can get. They can then make their own decisions. :)

Hi, thanks for the info! Just an extra FYI - it only applies to certain airlines (from comments)

This is only for certain airlines that fly out of gates 1-29. Only the following airlines are affected:

Aer Lingus, AeroMexico, Air Berlin, Air Transat, Avianca, Azul, Copa, Eastern, Frontier, Icelandair, JetBlue, Miami Air, Norwegian, Sunwing, WestJet.

You guys - there are only 26 people on our flight so far!!! This is the flight I booked, then they cancelled, and then they added back! I sure hope they don't cancel again. Will a plane take off with so few people???

Perhaps it's because it's at 6am....

Rant on:
It's driving me crazy that the AK park hours are still listed as closing at 7:00 and 7:30 in October! I have never seen later closing times in September than in October! My FP date is in 2 weeks and I was really hoping they would revise the October AK hours today.
Rant off.
Please forgive, but seriously, where else can I do this, Facebook?! :)

So I had a massive FP fail.

My package begins on 10/1 and I will only bein the park 10/1 - 10/7. I had ended up adding a day into the begining of my trip as a room only res because I got a much better price on my flight so it was actually cheaper to add a night at the all stars than to fly in the next day. I really hadn't thought much about the added night, it a room only and I won't even arrive at MCO until 9:30pm.

Well because my package (and my trip for all intents and purposes) start 10/1 despite my 9/30 arrival I kept thinking of my ADR day as 60 before 10/1...otherwise known as tomorrow.

Wel I decided to poke around on MDE tonight to get a feel for it so that I don't get any surprises tomorrow morning at 4:00 am. Wel imagine my dismay to realize that becuase of my added night at the All Stars today was actually my FP day.

I made my FP but couldn't get FOP for my first AK Day (I just made one for my departure day instead which I had planned to leave unplanned and choose the day of where we wanted to spend our last morning in WDW ... I guess it's a planned day now) and I got the rest of my FP but not all of them are at the times I wanted.

Ugh this is what you get when your FP day is the first day of school. Mistakes were bound to happen with my attention all over the place and me multitasking myself to death I guess. On the bright side I will be sleeping in as late as possible tomorrow.

I have a couple of questions regarding Animal Kingdom.

1. Is Rivers of Light a once an evening show I am assuming? Is Fastpass for it worthwhile? If you use a Fastpass for it-because it's at the end of the night, does that mean you can get any others through the day?

2. Is it true that Kilmanjaro Safaris is better in the morning as the animals are out and more active? If this is true were thinking about using a Fastpass to get a preferred early morning time. If I am there at the earliest moment at 60 days, would there be any problem getting the preferred time?

Thanks in advance!

I was caught off guard by this kind of a situation on our trip last March. Luckily, my sister saved the day and realized that the window was open a day early. But these reports of people not being able to get FoP fastpasses worry me. Our October trip is only four nights long.

Rivers of Light is an evening show. I thought it was rather boring, but others may think otherwise. You can see the show from outside the arena. There are plenty of places with an excellent view of the show, including the bridge near Everest. If you tie up a fp for Rivers of Light then you won't be able to get a 4th fp for other rides.

We did the safari first thing in the morning during our 4th of July trip and the ride was a walk on. I think everyone was in line for Flight of Passage. ;) You shouldn't have any problems getting your preferred time for the safari.

The best times for a safari are first thing in the morning, late in the afternoon around feeding time, and right after a cooling rain. The animals like the rain. :)

Hi all..
Pretty new here, and have been searching all the threads for this question..
Probably been asked a million times....
We're going 10/18 - 10/24, and are trying to get an ADR for BOG at dinner time..
Only thing we got was 9:15 on the night of our MNSSHP.
We really don't want to run into issues with missing things at the party..

SOO...my question is..
Is there any specific thread on the DIS where people who have ADR's for restaurants post that they are going to be cancelling one for a certain day and time...therefore giving someone a heads up??

Not sure if this exits, but please help me out if possible.
Thanks!!

P.S. Also would like to note that we have a lunch BOG lunch ADR for 10/22 at 2:20pm (7 people) that we will be cancelling if we can secure a BOG dinner ADR ideally on 10/22 at 4-7pm time frame. So if anyone is interested, let me know and I can give a heads up if/when we cancel this one.

There is a thread on the restaurant forums where people post when they are cancelling a reservation.

Hi there!
I'm new to this, but have been reading the forums for a while!
My soon to be DH and I will be celebrating our honeymoon in October! We will be at the GF from 10/23-10/26 and POR from 10/26-11/3.
We can do nothing but plan and talk about how excited we are!
:figment:

It's our first time making Fastpasses as well, although I still have 27 days. Is it difficult to make Fastpasses in which you split your group up? Younger son and I love thrill rides and no one else does, although DH will do some. So there are going to be days when YDS and I head to Space Mountain while the others head to, say, Pooh.

I wish I could practice!

I would say that if you have a few thrill rides DH would also do, then still only FP for you and YDS (assuming the older child doesn't want to ride?)...then when you tap in ask for a rider switch pass, which is something you can use if someone is A. too young/small to ride or B. not comfortable riding but isn't old enough to wait alone for you. Does that make sense at all? Because you can easily select a few rides that all of you will get to go on, but just in smaller groups. For example, if DH would ride Space Mtn then you and YDS get FP and rider switch, which will then give a ticket for up to 3 people to return (via the FP line). Rider switch isn't available on rides which have no minimum height requirement (like Pooh). I'm sorry if this is information you already know, I definitely don't want to sound patronizing :goodvibes
Additionally, when you are making FP for multiple people, you can always select which members of your party you're making the pass for before selecting the ride (this assumes you have everyone linked on your account and you can "make plans" for each of them). It can be a big task if you have a large party and a long vacation, but it's pretty fun IMO :rotfl:
Last thing I would recommend, remember that once a person's 3 FP are used (or time has expired) each day, they have another single FP available, one at a time. If you're tapping in for your 3rd FP of the day, while you're in line you can book an additional FP at that time. I had an epic day in April where I used 13 FP in one day between the four parks due to the use of the express transportation buses, luck, and only having my oldest DS with me (DH and other four kiddos were at home).

Happy planning! :) I hope that helped and didn't make it more confusing!!
