I don't think your post is going to be well accepted. She is a very cute little girl and has a huge following. I think she is a better song writer than singer. Obviously, based on all the awards she has recently won, many don't feel the same way.

Of course, I think there are many recording artists today that are not very good singers. Recording studios can do wonders with a mediocre voice.

I think she is an average singer, but a very talented song writer and entertainer. Besides that, I like her personality. I only like a few of her songs, but I can see why she is appealing to people.

Look at Brittney. She is a terrible singer (IMO).

I had no idea who she is. I had to google her - and I see exactly what I expected to see - she's tall, thin, blond and attractive. Which is what most female performers look like nowadays. The image is first and foremost, singing ability is far less important. Very predictable. But that's what sells.

Hey, if that blonde bimbo (Kim from "The Real Housewives of Atlanta") who sang "Tardy for the Party" can be made to sound good, *anybody* can. Her unaltered singing voice is so bad that compared to Miley Cyrus she makes Miss Hannah Montana sound like Julie Andrews.

my DD12 was shocked and disappointed when she heard TS sing live a couple of months ago. DD LOVES her and hearing how weak and off-key she was...i could see her face just fall. i think TS is a much better songwriter than singer, and i'm thankful she writes music my DD can listen to-99.99% of what's on the radio is pure trash. i'm willing to cut her some slack on the singing if she'll keep writing clean music.

She seems to have a kind heart and is a hard worker. I wouldn't say she's got a smashing voice by any means but she's not terrible. I think it's great that someone is finally in the business that is not all about the sex and trash. It's refreshing.

DH cannot stand her and I keep telling him he's 50 years old, he doesn't "get" her. She's singing for the tweens and teens, of which we are no longer. She's not my favorite by any means, but I'm glad she's there for the younger crowd.

And if she were truly horrible she would not be winning awards.

Ehh- not the greatest singer, but certainly not the worst either. The introduced one of her songs on the radio yesterday as "everyone's kid sister--Taylor Swift" That about sums it up- She is too darn cute, and has a great personality not to like, IMO.

She has said in interviews that she doesn't feel her live performances are all the great. She is working towards making them better.

I find that to be the case with a vast majority of what I call "video" performers. They look great on video where they have a big production team behind them but listen to them try to sing the national anthem and you realize they are very weak singers.

Maybe that's why they come and go so quickly.

Well coming from a city where songwriters are a dime a dozen, she is very well respected. I know many accomplished songwriters, including my best friend, and although I know absolutely nothing about songrwriting talent, I have to say that THEY think she is extremely talented. I trust their judgement.

I like Taylor because she does not ooze "sex" to young girls my daughter's age. She is also a genuinely sweet girl.
