Here now, SO much pixie dust!

Your post is getting me excited for my trip! I did not know about being able to see the fireworks from the bridge at pop or about trading the cards at the firehouse either. We have a bunch of duplicates that I'd love to trade for different ones. Thanks!!

Yep, just look for a castmember holding a book full of cards at the entrance to the firehouse. They're not always there, but they often are.

Thank you thank you thank you, I'm so glad you're having a great vacation. There are so many negative posts on these boards that it's really nice to see a positive one. Enjoy the rest of your vacation & thanks for the pixie dust!!

My husband and I get a laugh looking at reviews for the parks. We haven't been to WDW but some of the complaints are so petty and it's almost hilariously sad. The best one we saw was for Disneyland Hotel before we went. The reviewer went on for about three paragraphs how she couldn't check in because the power was out and then they couldn't have supper because there was a fire. She even mentioned she was compensated for it. The other good ones are about how Disney needs to make it not so hot and smoggy. HAHA!

Just the other night, for example, we noticed they were piping in the soundtrack to the Star Wars fireworks on the bridge between Aof A and Pop (nice view there, btw).
It's the little touches like that which make this place special. :)

Yay for great trips and Pixie Dust! I love to hear this tip, we are staying at Pop this year and this is great to know, thanks!

Reading your report gets me even more excited for our August trip! These are the type of posts that all of us check in to the DIS daily for! I have come to the conclusion that a lot of the negative posts have an agenda, and mainly from the same group of people. I actually find the negative posts almost predictable and humorous now. I'm glad to see the majority of us agree! Here's to the rest of your trip being just as magical!!

Heh, now I want to compose a review in which I lambast Disney for letting it pour rain on us this evening! ;)

How do we know that those who are positive don't have an agenda?

Magpie, I am glad that you are having a nice time. I like to read positive reports for sure. :)

So happy to hear that you are having a wonderful trip.

It's things like this that make me feel validating in wanting to come back and eventually do the Disney College Program.

Just because he's a grown man it doesn't mean he can't get cranky and tired by the end of a long day in the park. You know how they sometimes get overstimulated by the parades and fireworks and push well past their normal bedtime and then crash. Maybe if his kids had gotten him that toy he wanted he would have slept better at night and not been so cranky.

Hey - as a grown man I find this post inappropriate, offensive..... and hilarious! :lmao:

I read a review where a guy said his vacation was ruined - ruined!!! - because the lettuce in his Cobb Salad at Hollywood Brown Derby was shredded too finely.

Glad you are having a good trip Magpie. I especially hope your family member who is sick is doing well and enjoying the trip. :goodvibes

Glad you are have a great time and thank you for posting. I'm sure some will read your post and say, well what's so special about that aren't they supposed to do that? I say, yes, it's special and yes it is what you make of it. My son is Navy retired for physical reasons and has PTSD. We were there in March and I heard him laugh out loud for the first time in a year. Talk about magical, I had barely seen him smile so to hear him laugh was just perfect. He even danced when we were walking back to our room on the BW bridge, they were having a party at YC and he could hear the music, it was some line dancing thing and he stopped right there in the middle of the bridge and demonstrated for me. As far as I'm concerned, the magic is alive and well.

That is AMAZING to hear! So happy for you and very happy for him to be able to enjoy life at that moment!:sunny:

Magpie, glad to hear you are having a wonderful time. I am looking forward to my own trip with my DD in June. I'm like a wide-eyed kid when I go to Disney (which isn't that often) so I don't expect any special treatment because I'm just so thrilled to be there in the first place. If you are happy to be there, then you will reflect happiness wherever you go and that's what people see and appreciate. Heck, even the "downers" might catch some happiness too! Pixie Dust on my friend, Pixie Dust on....

Loving the positivity as wel! Like you, we go with no expectations and we are always thrilled. We had a phenomenal vacation this past March too. Lots of super friendly CM's, great food and loads of fun. I find if you approach people in a warm, friendly manner they respond the same way. We had many great chats with young people on the college program, asking about their time at Disney and what they were studying at college. Positive energy always attracts pixie dust!

I can't wait for my first solo trip this August!

Nice to hear about that. Glad you're having a great time!
This is what makes the difference, and what makes me love Disney to death ♥

Hey, don't say that! I'm looking forward to that salad when I'm there in June! LOL

You mean WDW is not a money-sucking pit of despair full of rude CM's, filthy bathrooms, and unmet expectations? Because that's what it's supposedly become these days, if some corners of the DIS are to be believed. :p
You know, I can go and have a good time at WDW but I don't have to be happy about the price increases, cuts in entertainment, and overcrowding. I don't have to agree with the direction leadership is taking Disney World, I am allowed to have a differing opinion.
