When i went last year i was disappointed in just about all the food not just QS. I dont know if the restaurants we go just aren't good anymore or what. We are going again in October and hoping for better food.

What QS did you go to?
agreed that it was all food, not just QS. We did 2 sit downs. Tutto Italia, which was mediocre but was worth it purely so we could sit down away from the crowds, have a cocktail and feed everyone easily without thinking too hard. And Space 220 lounge - food was probably the best we had other than Flametree BBQ. But i was there for the funsies so I wasnt disappointed. I was not expecting to eat amazing food. We loved the "ride" part of the experience as well as the atmosphere and would 100% go back and do it again. Kids got a kick out of it and it felt super disney.

QS we did: Backlot Express in DHS, Peco Bills in Frontierland (UGH the worst), the ice cream shop in Tomorrowland (served us rock hard churros), Connection Eatery in Epcot, Cantina in Epcot (actually good churro bites tho).

When we came back to MK for our 2nd session, we just brought grocery store snacks from the room to eat for lunch and got mickey bars. Not nutritious by any means but I didnt want to deal with QS disappointment anymore.

Pecos bills used to be so good but fell off a cliff when the parks reopened in 2020. For MK, I still think Columbia Harbor House and Casey's are good.

I think the decline began with the removal of the toppings bar, which I believe was before Covid but correct me if I'm wrong. Now Pecos Bill is easily one of the worst quick service places in WDW.

That definitely didn't help, but even the chicken and rice they use seems to be worse too. I'm also spoiled for Mexican and Tex-Mex in my hometown, so that doesn't help.

I agree. I tend to go there or Columbia Harbor House since Pinnochio Village Haus and Cosmic Rays are disgusting but I don't think I can do it anymore. I wish MK had decent QS :L

I'm genuinely sorry your experiences were so lousy. I think this is a good illustration of how inconsistent dining can be though. I had nothing but great QS and TS meals on my pair of 2021 trips, even at MK, but I didn't eat at any of those places. I had good experiences at Docking Bay 7 and Woody's at HS. Epcot I had a nice dinner at Garden Grill but most of the time ate festival food. AK Satu'li was as great as ever. imo food isn't bad across the board by any means but I find since re-opening some places have gone downhill.

Definitely agree with this. Pecos Bill I steered clear of because I've heard nothing but bad things about it since reopening. Casey's was still as good as ever, I just miss the specialty dogs they had each month. I don't eat seafood and CHH took my beloved lighthouse sandwich away so if I'm not eating at Casey's I'm doing a waffle sandwich at Sleepy Hollow or heading over to the Poly if I want QS.

Nope, the toppings bar went away with covid. You might be thinking of when they took the guac off it and started charging for it, that was definitely pre-covid.

Pecos Bill has gone downhill A LOT! Overall the food has become a major disappointment. A few things were decent, but we noticed a major change in pretty much everything we ate this month that we had in years prior. :(

The food in EPCOT has either changed or the portion size is half. Most of the QS is school cafeteria quality.

I had this one back in November (https://wdwnt.com/2022/11/review-holiday-dinner-dog-mk-2022/), but I would also like to see more options.

It is funny to me how quickly things change, I have done three trips in the past four months and HS now has the best overall quick service options imo (and they are almost all on mobile order, unlike Epcot where barely anything is). And to think just a few years ago I always left HS to find something to eat!

what QS locations do you recommend at HS? We haven't visited in over a year and haven't had the best experiences in the past with their QS offerings. Would appreciate knowing where to try later this summer when we return.

Thanks!

We were there last week (3/5-3/11), the only place we ate that was absolutely awful was ABC commissary. Chicken sandwich I had, while the chicken was big, it was also hard and not good at all.

All the TS (Hollywood and Vine breakfast, Ohana dinner, Garden Grill dinner, Tusker House breakfast) were good, no complaints with any of those.

We did pinnochio village haus for QS lunch at MK and the chorizo flatbread was really good. Is their pizza amazing? No, but its not completely awful either. Dont get the hate on it.

my husband had such terrible indigestion from the rice bowl! He felt off for like a day and a half after that. Never again! Id rather eat chips and granola bars lol.

We're from Austin, so yeah, i feel you!! But we've got alot of food allergies in our family so Peco's was the menu/location that made the most sense for us at the time.

Yeah allergies are always tough with quick service.

we've eaten at Docking Bay 7 in Disneyland and we really liked it too. We should have just gone back but we were trying to try something different lol.

QS at DLR is so much easier than WDW. Dunno if it was just our specific experiences or if its that way in general.

Yeah allergies are always tough with quick service.
The worst! At Backlot Express, we ordered the southwest salad or whatever it was called and it looked perfect for my husband's food allergies in the mobile order description. It showed up with pepitas all over the top of it, which is definitely NOT ok for him. For a company that takes their allergen stuff so seriously, i was really surprised. I had to go request a new one and it was just a huge PITA.

I think it's that way in general. The last time I went to Disneyland, I enjoyed their QS way more than at WDW. However their table service isn't great (side-eyeing Blue Bayou specifically).

I actually really like Docking Bay 7, the chicken salad there is really tasty and a lighter/healthier option when it's a million degrees out. Woody's is also a really solid option, I just tend not to eat there because it's like the Hunger Games trying to get seating. I have heard ABC Commissary is surprisingly good now but have not tried it.

yeah you are right. Ive never liked table service there either. I only will do it when i know my family needs the sit down break. The Carthay Circle patio is really nice for lunch.

We really enjoy ABC Commissary our last 2 trips. It's now on my top QS meals when it comes to DHS. We also enjoy the Backlot Express, but we usually just get chicken tenders and a Wookie Cookie (highly recommend).
