I am reading some conflicting reports. I was hoping maybe posting my specific circumstance, someone can explain it to me. We have never done rider swap and even planned to have grandparents with us to help but that may fall through.

Dh and myself want to ride Splash Mtn. However, dd9 is terrified despite doing it at age 5 and loving it. I booked FP+ for all 3 of us. What options do I have for rider swap and how will it work? Do we wait in the FP line twice even with a rider swap pass? We have never done a rider swap and not sure exactly how it works.
Thanks!

Depending on which CM's happen to be running the attraction(s) at the time
you are there, it's possible that you will not be able to Rider Swap for a child that is tall enough to ride the attraction (but just doesn't WANT to.)

More description HERE.

It's not likely you can use rider swap. While the website says it is for children who are too scared to ride, the reality is that rider swap is for children too short to ride.

And honestly she is 9. If she doesn't want to ride then she can walk through the line with you and take the chicken exit and wait for you at the exit. Pretty simple solution.

I'm confused as to why you need rider swap? Since you all have FP's, one parent can stay back with daughter while the other uses their FP, then after that parent stays and the other uses their FP. Or she waits at the end of the ride and both of you ride using your FP's. Are you trying to get a rider swap ticket in order for one of you to ride the ride twice. I'm pretty sure in order to get it one parent must stay behind with the non-rider.

I'm just trying to understand the process. Would rider swap amount to the same thing as each of us going through the FP line separately?

Yes. With Rider Swap, Adult A stays with the non-riding child while Adult B rides the ride. When Adult B exits the ride, Adult A uses the Rider Swap pass to go through the FP line.

I don't think Rider Swap will really help you, since as others have said your DD IS tall enough to ride so it will be at the discretion of the CM whether they'll even give you the RS pass. You can either take turns waiting with her and each just use your FP, or have her wait for you at the exit while you ride together if you & she are comfortable doing that.
