Yup, another baby name thread! I need help naming DS#4 to be. DH and I can't agree on anything and I need fresh perspectives.

I like names that are not common, but not weird. So no James, David, Michael, or Matthew (all good names, just not what I want for my child) nor Zyphon, Jayvyn, or Nyek (names I'm not sure I can even pronounce).

I want nothing trendy. No Greyson, no Dylan, no Cooper, no Carson, etc. Nothing wrong with any of these names, but I want a name were there aren't likely to be 2-3 in my child's class, KIWM?

I don't want anything that starts with the letter "A", "C", or "H" as these are the letters that begin my other boys’ names. I find it terribly convenient that none of them have the same starting letter. Makes labeling things very easy!

I don't really care if it intentionally blends with my other children's names, as I find that you automatically just tend to pick similar types of names. I've always chosen old names that are not in a high demand of use. They come off as being unique, but aren't weird. However, I don't want names that are common for grandparents: Frank, George, Henry, etc. Maybe Great- or Great- great grandparents.

I'm not big on name meaning, as I believe the person makes the name and the name does not make the person.

So any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated--seeing how I'm not picky or anything. ;)

Oh, I am thinking of the middle name "Wyatt," but that's not written in stone.

Liam, Emmet, Finn (I love this one), Kevin... I can come up with more later :)

My son's name is Maclaren and we love it. We live in Alaska and have a river/lodge with that name. I know it is also the brand name of a stroller, but we don't have many of that brand in our area. We wanted to name him Wyatt but our last name starts with a W and it didn't go.

Good luck with your name choice! I also liked Nicholas, Thomas (ds's middle name), Sawyer...

Have fun and Congrats!

I'm a teacher so most names have an affiliation with a student...if we ever have kids I have no idea what I could name them!

You have quite a few restrictions. What are your other kids' names-that will help give an idea of what you consider acceptable.

Honestly, the more plain the name the less likely you are to have another in a class :lmao:. The Davids', Michaels' and Matthew's have it easy compared to the Aidens, Jaidens and Laquiinquleata's these days.

That is soooo true!!

My "son" who suddenly became a girl right before birth was supposed to be named Devin.

Here's a couple ideas:

Mason
Kenton
Sawyer
Quentin

I'm not sure if they fit all your criteria but I've always liked those names. :goodvibes

Op I totally get where you are coming from.

Kenneth
Jonathon (this is a favorite of mine)
Nicholas
Drew
Benjamin
Peter

My cousin named her son Ezrah. I believe she got it from the Bible. I had never heard it before or since.

EZRA
Gender: M
Origin: Hebrew
Meaning: "help"
Popularity in 2008: #292
Has a lot going for it: the strength of its heroic Biblical legacy, its quirky sound, and its fresh but familiar feel. According to the Bible, Ezra led a group of fifteen hundred Israelites out of slavery in Babylon and back to Jerusalem. And there's the poetry connection to Ezra Pound.
Variations:
Ezrah, Ezurah, Azur, Esdras, Ezyrah, Ezer, Esra, Ezri, Ezyra, Azariah, Azariah, Azur, Ezrah, Ezurah, Ezyra, Ezyrah
International Variations:
Esdra, Esdras, Esra, Ezer, Ezzret, Uzair (Arabic) Esdras (French) Esra (German) Ezera (Hawaiian) Ezri (Israeli) Esdras (Spanish)

I'm only 24, so no kiddies yet but I have thought about boys names just in case!

I'm with you on the trendy names, I don't want to stick my child with some weird name he'll hate me for!

I like:

William
George (Georgie is cute for when he's little)
Theodore (Teddy is a sweet nickname)
Joshua
Jack
Harry
Brian
Jamie

I really like Ian. Also there is Keith, Christian, Scott, Robert, Todd, Dylan, Paul. Just some suggestions

Brayden, Philip, Trent, Waylon, Preston, Landon.

I'll try to think of more later......congrats!!!
