I am trying to get a trip for my family with airfare from philly for 8 people. I have tried to get smething in the $200.00 range but I am having no luck. Is it because I am trying to get us all on one flight? I would be happy for any help. AAA was about $300 for each of us and it is too much for the other family to spend.

I don't know what your dates are but I got $187 RT for our May trip with AirTran just two days ago. Maybe try their web site directly.

I hope I can help with this but when are you going in May? We're going 12-19 (sat-sat) and we waited and waited for Southwest to move the dates but said forget it and booked with Expedia for 140 roundtrip from Pittsburgh to Orlando (mco). In the end we're glad we didnt wait cuz it would have been over 200 with SW. I would check out Expedia and/or Orbitz we have used them several times and the prices aren't bad either ( you may have to connect with your flights tho) Word of caution, if you were thinking labor day wkd beware of crowds, word is out that Pirates 3 is coming out that weekend. We're hoping it wont be busy the week before. I hope this helps, good luck planning. Word of advice too, if you are getting the DDP, I would start making ressies b/c some of the TS's we booked for that week were almost all booked already!

Oh, I guess it would help to tell you our 140 price was for a direct flight to MCO with United and a connecting flight home through Atl with Delta (i'm pretty sure, it could be vise versa tho)

We're also flying out of Philly taking USAIR. It only cost us $589 (that's including taxes and fees) roundtrip for the 4 of us (nonstop). We're going 4/25-5/1.

We flew down last May on SW and got a great DING in March for $34 down and $39 back. It was $368.00 for 4 of us ROUNDTRIP!

I am going in June and there are 10 of us from my family and I don't want us all flying on the same plane so we are going at different times and maybe different days. I am waiting to see if sw prices go do.

Try flying into Tampa (TPA). The drive to WDW is less than 90 min and the savings are great. We're going in June and we couldn't get anything under $250 PHL-MCO. We're paying $165 into TPA for 7 of us. This will be the second time we're flying into TPA. Saving $85pp it's worth the 90 min drive. We always rent a car anyway and the rates seem to be better in TPA too.

Hi Denise,
Some thoughts from a fellow Philly suburbanite.....

--- Consider flying out of Atlantic City. Occasionally there is a real good rate, but from one of the 2nd tier carriers.

--- Southwest DING ! We "Dinged" out trip in 2005. Got our tix for $118 R/T per person. Key for us was we went ahead and booked the best Southwest fares we could, then studiously watched DING. Caught our fare just 3 weeks before the trip.

--- Consider taking the drive to Baltimore. An easy 2 hour drive down I-95, and Southwest often has much better fares out of BWI.

--- Consider flying into Tampa. Our 2005 trip was in and out of Tampa. Only 30 minutes futher away from WDW than Olrnado Int'l, and a much more peaceful airport.

Lot's of chances for you to get some good fares.

Good luck,
Z

I juts read another post about a SW sale today with $49 each way from Philly to MCO. I checked some dates and saw thy still have the sale.

I found the flights on SW $49 each way now I am waiting for my sister to call me back. I hope that I can get them for all of us. I hate that they don't assign seats because we are traveling with a 4 & 6 YO I have been trying to get us all on one flight from AC but the cost is still too high so this Ding looks great we will need to adjust our days in DW for one additional day so that may defeat the savings of the Ding.

We are also going in May and seem to be getting a little spoiled with airfare. We will not pay more than $200 PP (RT). We weren't finding any great deals, so we split it up.

We are going down on Airtran from Philly ($84pp) and are still looking for the return.
Just a thought. Might find some deals this way.

Hey Everybody:wave:
Just wanted to say that Airtran is also having a $49 each way from Philly to Orlando. I just booked one way flights on Southwest and Airtran for our late April trip. Two of us round trip total came to $233. Playing around a bit with departure dates can help get lower costs/more flight options, too. Don't know exactly when in May you are going, but there are flights available at that price on Airtran, even some weekends.(I plugged in 8 people and it still came up:) )

Yea we are going for all 8 of us on SW for under $1000. I am happy with that. We all got the $49 fare so now I will have to try to get us close together on the plane. My neice loves me so for the benefit of the entire plane they need to have me near that child. She will be near me no matter what. It really is great to be the favorite aunt but I give in to her too easily and I think she is cute, my children think that I spoil her and her brother too much. I will be getting our boarding passes 24 hours before we will board so I guess that will be the answer. Happy Happy
