Finally I have just about decided on a hotel, but let me ask which do you guys prefer, Poly or Beach Club? DS8 and DS5 would love Stormalong Bay, but DH loves monorail. WHich is best? Also, does anyone know if both of these offer daybeds? I find that it works best to separate the boys and the daybed comes in handy. Also, is PORiverside the only moderate with daybeds?
Thanks again for the help.::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

POR is the only moderate that will sleep five, but they have a trundle bed, not a day bed.

I can't answer your Poly/BC question, because I've only stayed at the Beach Club. We really liked it. Storm Along Bay was great, and we loved being able to walk to/from Epcot for meals and Illuminations, and being able to walk to the Boardwalk.

I've heard from friends that the new pool at the Poly is really nice (especially the volcano). We're thinking of staying there in the fall with our two young boys (mainly because of its proximity to the MK, otherwise, it would be the Beach Club).

We've only done the BC. In fact, it's our favorite resort. However, we'll be staying at the Poly in 27 days (first trip). So, who knows it may be our new favorite. The BC is hard to beat - Epcot resort area is so nice. And, Stormalong Bay is second to none.

However, we don't have kids. You do. I think the Poly would be a fine choice for you because you'll have such convenient access to the MK. And we all know kids love MK (so do I!). I heard the Poly is great for kids - lots of activities. And, they both have daybeds. We find the Epcot resort area to be perfect for couples without kids. However, it's certainly kid-friendly too as is all of WDW.

Either way - you've got 2 excellent choices so you can't go wrong.

Your decision will be on which park you will be going to most often. If you think most of the time will be spent at MGM & EPCOT, then the Beach Club is a good choice. If more time will be spent at the Magic Kingdom, then I would recommend the Polynesian. Both resorts offer day beds. I've stayed at & enjoyed both. If you go to Tikiman's site and go to the Tokelau section, you'll see pictures of the room I had (#1913). This was a "garden" view room, but you could see the lagoon & Floridian from the room & patio. It's been a few years since I've stayed at the Beach Club, but Stormalong was fun and it was nice being so close to EPCOT & MGM.

Poly has captn cooks snack bar: 24 hrs, easy to fill mugs there, plenty of quick eats. Boys will love Volcano pool, catchin lizards, arcade. Rooms are bigger too

My vote would be Poly hands down. Stayed there twice and loved it. So convenient to the monorails and MK. Volcano pool is awesome. The rooms are bigger and there is a day bed in the room. Liked the ability to take the boat to or from MK as well as an alternative. Being on the monorail also makes it easy to use the restaurants at the Contemporary and GF. However, I would agree with the other poster--it depends for you where you will spend most of your time. We prefer MK so that makes Poly even that much more attractive to us.

Another vote for the Polynesian.

BTW although BC is more convenient to the World Showcase ENTRANCE, we find the Polynesian more convenient to Future World. You make the SHORT walk to the TTC and hop the Epcot monorail and you're there. For spots like Norway, it's probably a wash.

It's my understanding that not all rooms at BC have a daybed, so be sure to specify you want one if you choose BC. I do know that some rooms only have double beds not queens...we had one of those...Yikes:crowded:

We have 3 ds and have stayed at both several times. My DH prefers the beach club, the rest of us prefer the poly. They both have their good points. I agree wih the other posters of where you will be (parkwise) and also how much time you will spend at the resort.
Besides transportation, pool, onsite childcare, restraunts etc. which are equally, although I think the beach club might be a few dollars less for a standard room.
The probelms we had at beach club were:
Lack of quick place for snacks and mug refills
During a bad storm (we usually go in summer) you are pretty much stuck there
Poly: captain cooks 24 hour snack place for food and mug refills. The grill closes at 11 I think. Once we got the last pizza. This did not go over well with the 3 ds.
If you have children the free childrens activities are excellent, pool games, arts and crafts in the neverland club and arcade challenge etc.
My ds prefer the slide at the volcano pool versus stormalong bay. and its a hassle to always have to show your room key to get into Stormalong bay and get a towel etc at the Beach Club.
The beach club does have a cute table in the room if you are stuck there and you can get chess and checker pieces from the front desk. In Aug. they had a tornado warning and shut down trans. for a while. The water sports are equal at both , example water mice, bike rental etc. I do think the Poly is a little more kid friendly. You can enjoy the beach at night and take in wishes and the water paegent. Awesome. Sitting on the lounge chair, looking at the castle. I do know in the summer it gets pretty crowded in the pool and lounge chairs are scarce directly at the pool during the hottest times of the day. Good Luck deciding.

My kids 6 and 7 prefer the Beach Club.

I would say, let which park you plan on spending most of your time make your decision. BC is the resort I will keep going back to... but that is because our favorite park is EPCOT. I do love the boat ride to MGM and the fact that I can walk through EPCOT to get to MK. The biggest drawback (IMHO) is the lack of a place to get a quick/quality breakfast. The little set up they have near the front desk isn't to my liking, and I really don't like the idea of having to sit down for breakfast every morning. We never have had to show our room key to get into stormalong bay... in fact, this last visit, I saw people all over the pool with wristbands (presumably indicating they were resort guests), but no one ever asked us for ID, nor commented on the fact that we didn't have one! Go figure. We did love our room - it had a daybed, which I do understand NOT all room have...

here is a vote for BC!! You will love the pool!!
If you are planning on usisng the pool it is the hotel for you!
Walking to epcot and to MGM for that matter is so nice. (just walked back from MGM last night as a matter of fact!!!:)
We really did not like the Poly although many people do. I like that the Bc you can walk around the hotel and not have to leave the bld.
Also it is bright and cheery. I know the poly is darker because of it themeing. but we also found it a bit dirty. (we also went last Jan before the rehab)
Are you going for a long trip? If so I say split your stay!!!
