Ok so my Ticker says I month 1 week and I think 3 days, and I feel all this anxeity that I have never before. All my planning has been real exciting then saw the ticker and know I am like OMG what have I gotten myself into, lol. We leave on Christmas day,(something we have never done, leave on a holiday) we are driving up ( live in SO. Florida) with 2 DD 19 months and 4 1/2, my older DD has no idea, thought it would be a great surprise know I am not to sure about that!!! This is the longest ever we will be in WDW, 6 days/5 nites, and we are doing 3 parks with 3 dinings 2 character and 1 at the Fultons crab house... am I doing too much?????...I am freaking out, woke up this morning and and all these thoughts of a horrible trip, and I so dont want to dissapoint my DD4 or Hubby. My Fear is WOW can I handle such a trip at WDW. its always been only a weekend trip 3 days or so and only one park, We often go 3 times a year, havnet been this year so we decided to make it a long stay.....This really is a transition for our family on these trips, I have to pack and try to do the holiday sho   ping for the rest of the family and thanksgiving and ok so does anyone have any encouriging words to calm my fears, or any recipies for a good margarita cause I think I want one right know,lol.....

I know what you mean! We just got back a few days ago, but the week before we went I was so stressed, I probably could have cancelled. :guilty: Imagine that! Mom kept saying don't you want to go?? I thought you loved that place??? It was not that at all, it was just so overwhelming to pack, make sure everything was ready, the what ifs??? and the stress of getting there!!! We flew for the first time ever, so I also had the nervousness of that to deal with. I must say though, this was the absolute best WDW trip ever!! Just relax, and before you know it you will be soaking in the magic!! :goodvibes

I agree with the above poster. Don't obsess about ADR's. If it doesn't look like you can fit it in cancel and eat somewhere more convenient. You have a good plan so now you can travel with the plan and then play it by ear to suit your family. As for all the "must do" things before you depart, try making lists and keep it with you at all times. When you accomplish something--mark it off. You'll have a visible record of what you have accomplished and that helps keep your mind from racing about with thoughts of how much there is to be done. I hope your holidays and vacation are fabulous!

Start a list. About a month before we go on vacation, I put a tablet on the kitchen bar and whenever I think of something I don't want to forget to pack or something that needs to be done before we leave I write it down. Then as I start packing or when I complete a task, I draw a line through that item. This keeps me from stressing out and it also allows family members a place to jot down things they think of. Maybe this will help, especially around the holidays. --You can keep it by the blender!! :teeth:

I know exactly what you mean. We have 6 weeks to go, and im starting to panic. Just been reading a thread about people getting sick just before they go, and now im even more panicky. :)

Ive started a list, taking Vitamin C, and have a good book ready for the extremely loooong flight (thats the worst part for me).

Its my first trip to WDW, so im really excited, but starting to feel that stress at the same time.

I also panicked right before we left. After learning soooo much at the DISBOARDS, my trip worked out PERFECT. It was so much fun! Relax, take a deep breath and ENJOY!

Start a list.

I have to agree! I am super-excited, but with very little anxiety because of the lists I've made. Packing lists, to do lists, things to remember to do at each park, etc. They grow every day, but once I add something to the list, I don't have to think about it anymore. We're finally throwing things in the direction of the suitcases now that we're 19 days out. I know if it's on the list it will make it into the suitcases eventually.

As far as Christmas - don't be so hard on yourself this year. Maybe you won't be able to spend as much time shopping, cooking, visiting, etc. Just do what you can - pick up gift cards if you have to. Enjoy the holiday and your trip!!!

Go ahead and have the margarita!

My mother had a tried and true method for our many, many camping trips that would last for two weeks at a time. Half of the dining room table was camp central. Anything she thought about taking on the trip went on that table. If we said "oh, I have to remember to take whatever", she'd say "go get it now and put it on the table - you can get it anytime you want until the trip".

I'm a list maker as others have said that's a good way to keep organized. I have a small Day Runner that's the size of index cards. 100 of those at The Dollar Store and there's a card available for everything and a great place to store them.

In less than a month, I'm going on a seven day Disney cruise. Next week, I leave for Maryland (a 10 hour drive each way) for Thanksgiving. I haven't even started anything for the cruise yet. I have to get Thanksgiving over with first. Christmas shopping? That'll happen after the cruise. If I don't take things one at a time, I'll go insane.

BTW - my husband does NOT plan anything more than five minutes in advance. We leave for the cruise on Friday morning and I'll bet he's out buying new pants on Thursday night.

1. Deep breath. Another deep breath.
2. Large bottle of Friday's Margarita mix, alcohol included.
3. Add extra tequila, lots of it.
4. Picture yourself at WDW.
5. Another deep breath, followed by another Margarita.
6. One more Margarita couldn't hurt.

Just kidding, of course, but just sit back and relax. The above advice regarding lists is terrific. I never go anyplace without my list, and it makes you feel great when you can cross something off.

This trip is longer than your usual so that should make you realize that you will be able to relax a bit more. If you have to skip an ADR or a park, so be it. Just chill and enjoy the five days with your family knowing that NOTHING is going to go wrong.

By the way, have another Margarita. It's just a way to bring you to another "Happy Place."
