Hi all,

Ive been reading all the posts but cant find exactly what im looking for. We will be staying at WDW from April 22 and checking out on 27. We have 4 parks to do and im a little torn. Its just me and my 8yo daughter, who is a trooper and does great in the parks, but this year we will want to do the night time shows. Currently I had planned this

Things we want to do: Tron, Fantasmic, Epcot Night show

Sunday- AK
Monday-Epcot (catch the evening show and take a rest day Tuesday)
Tues- Rest
Wed- MK
Thurs- HS (night show)

My issue is I really dont want to do HS the last day and then drive 2 hours after Fantasmic.

So, I have Sun, Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs to work with. We have 4 days of tickets. I also was thinking MK on Monday in case Tron was down I could try to get a ticket for our rest day and go back on that day. I know Im asking a lot and ill just have to sacrifice somewhere, just thought Id ask the pros.

Put AK the last day. It doesn't have a night show, just leave when you are done. The problem with this is that I really hate HS on a weekend, in AK's Sunday slot. It's so small and it can crowd easy if any of the rides are down, which is often.

So, maybe I'd shift the start of the trip later all around and go
Epcot
MK
rest
HS
AK

The kiddie rides at Epcot (Nemo, Figment, even Soarin) will be fine on the weekends, and you won't be in the huge line for Test Track. Should be easy to pay for Remy and possibly Frozen.

Just wondering if AK that Sunday is intentional - are you aware that's the weekend of the 25th anniversary of AK and it's likely to be quite busy? Perhaps move that back a few days and do HS earlier.

Thank you so much but I cant move the dates around at all. I only have Sunday to Thursday. I agree about not wanting HS on a weekend either. Last year we did AK last and it was perfect, I just dont see a good way to do that this year. Is MK or HS on a monday as bad as I read?

I put MK on Monday. I went the Monday after the marathon, and it was one of the lowest crowds I've seen.

How interested are you in fireworks at MK? HEA will be back. If you switch HS/MK the last 2 days, you could start leaving MK right before 9pm fireworks, catch them from the ferry or TTC and then start your 2 hour drive. Or are you looking to leave sooner?

I would consider going to the parks four straight days and getting a good rest before driving on Thursday. Rest days can be useful, especially if you are going to be there from rope drop to close, but you could also skip the beginning or end on any of those days as well. My kids were 11, 9 and 6, and we went to the parks eight straight days in August with rope dropping most days and staying for night shows/fireworks only a couple of times. Good luck!

Actually im skipping the MK fireworks. I made that mistake one year and the zoo we fought to move around was ridiculous. Mainly want to see Epcot and Fantasmic as we havnt done those ever.

What about doing this?

Sun-AK
Mon-HS
Tues-Rest resort
Wed-Epcot
Thurs- MK

I'll just throw this out there again, and I might be overthinking it.... But you did ask for opinions!! I think AK could be a very crowded park the weekend of 4/22 and 4/23, as they will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the opening of the park. I think it's possible HS could be lighter on crowds than AK that Sunday. Nothing to back that up for sure - maybe we'll see in a couple weeks where park reservations stand. But I think as Earth Day gets closer, there will be a lot of folks looking for the nostalgia of visiting AK that weekend. Then again, maybe it's not a big deal!

I don't know, I would move AK to your last day. I would just switch up some and move MK to Sunday and AK to your departure day since it's not a late night park anyway. You could even do DHS on Sunday too, imo it makes zero difference if you visit DHS during the week or weekend, it's always crowded imo. I tend to think that MK on Mondays usually are busier than weekends since this is when weekend arrival guests kick off their trips as MK is the most popular park. I agree with you that it's nice to have a rest day midweek of your trip but if this was my trip, here's my plans. You could also skip AK all together if you're concerned about missing other attractions in other parks, maybe see how it goes and add another day if you missed a headliner and that second park day be your departure day.

Sunday- MK
Monday-Epcot (catch the evening show and take a rest day Tuesday)
Tues- Rest
Wed- HS (night show)
Thurs- AK

I appreciate it, but with Tron opening, theres no way Im chancing MK on Sunday or Monday. Those are the two worst days I think to do that one. Im debating moving a rest day to Wednesday.... then MK on Tues. This way if Tron is down on Monday, I can try to get a last minute ticket for wednesday
to retry it also!

FWIW, Touring Plans has MK as a 4 on Sunday and AK as a 6.
