Hi...I have a question for all you car rental guru's. I am staying offsite this year and need to rent a car. I cant figure out how you guys are getting such great deals on car rentals.
We are coming down through MCO (orlando airport) and need to rent a car in terminal. Our dates aer
10/13/2013 10am thru 10/17/2013 7:30pm
I am looking at a compact car, as its only me and my daughter.

The prices seem crazy high right now. Average over $200. Is that high or are these fair prices? There seems to be some crazy deals with Payless, Fox and EZ rental.but they are getting terrible reviews so they make me nervous.

What do you think I should target for my price? Is $150 unrealistic? Also, when is the best time to book, am I just looking to early?

Thanks for all your help...Steph

You still have plenty of time, what I would do is book the first one that I could live with if I had to, and then keep checking every day, even several times a day, you never know when they change rates, sometimes it's only for a few hours.
I'm sure you"ll find something much better than the $200 range they are currently, Oct is generally not a peak time for car rentals.

Agree with the advice to book the best rate you can find now but keep checking. As long as you don't book a pre-pay rental, you can easily cancel and rebook as better rates become available. I find that the best rates are usually found about a month or so out from your travel date.
