Actually, a Saturday job. I was a salesperson for a local high-end HiFi and Home Cinema shop that owned Bang & Olufsen and Bose franchises. Interestingly, Bose and B&O were the cheap end of the spectrum. I got to listen to music and watch movies on the biggest screens with the most elite audio hardware on the open market.

I had the most fun working security at the gates for the Cinti Reds games one season for some extra money.
My real job that I enjoyed the most was working at our trauma center. I took all the calls from area hospitals who needed to transfer a patient to our hospital; connected the doctors and then helped arrange air care or ground transport. Really interesting listening to the MD's discuss the case.

My favourite job that didn't go anywhere or pay the bills was as an online trader in games consoles. Had a shop and everyting, sold anything from SNES consoles and 32X adaptors to XBox Series X consoles and PS5s. Never actually turned a profit… but it was fun!

I was a sports writer/editor for 14 years from 2005-19. The pay was not very good (around $500/week take home). But the benefits were awesome. I got into any games I wanted. Living in East Texas, I always went to cover the Cowboys and Rangers, PGA Tour when it was in DFW and Cotton Bowl. Those were the good ole days.

I owned my own baseball card/gaming store from 2016-17. It was in a very small town (about 10k people), so it didn't make. So I wound up closing and just doing everything online. But it was so much fun, and I still buy, sell and trade baseball cards to this day.

I don't know if volunteer jobs count, but my favorite job was the last one I had, which was a volunteer teacher's assistant to two Kinder teachers. I taught Kindergartners to write their name and their ABCs. It was very rewarding.

I was a hiker at a rental car agency right out of college. It was hard, hot work, washing the vacuuming cars in 100 degree weather but we also had to pick up customers. This was 1979 and everyone wanted to rent gas sipping cars like Toyota Corollas. We were only allowed to use cars with no reservations on them as shuttle cars and to run errands, so that generally was something like a Camaro Z28, a Firebird Trans Am, or a Thunderbird. Although 1979 Camaros and Firebirds were pretty sorry cars.

I worked at the local Renaissance Festival as a teen in food service and we had a lot of fun, and then later as a Fairy performer. The latter was basically unpaid since you had to provide all your own costuming and things, but it was a lot of fun, especially with the small children who believed you were a real fairy.
