:woohoo: BCV or BLT! Two great choices! We are booked at OKW for the part before the cruise and will have a look at what's available for the second part. ;)

Thanks for reading! :goodvibes

Thank you, Ann!
We could have done a lot more, but we were just too tired the first day. ;) The second day we were quite busy and it was really fun! :thumbsup2

Those wafers were really yummy - I went to pick up a box of them a few days later and they are all gone already! :rotfl2:

Okay - Summer 2012 update!

I have been bugging Tom for some weeks now, that I want to book our flights. In order to do so I need to be fairly sure that his vacation time is okayed by his boss.
The plane fare is one of the few things that IF I have to cancel will be very cost intensive when cancelled.
Over the last 3 - 4 weeks I have eyed the rates on Lufthansa (they are the only airline flying out of our hometown and which require only one stopover in Frankfurt) and they were pretty low. So I kept nagging and nagging and yesterday he gave me the okay.
While talking about the flights we realized that the plane to Miami is a larger one than the one going to Orlando and it would mean that we would have to squeeze in with one other passenger as there are three four and another three seats in a row. Now, the flight to Orlando has two four and two seats in a row. :goodvibes
So we thought it over and decided that instead of flying to Miami, we would actually fly to Orlando, stay the night at the Hyatt Regency at the airport. Our flight arrives pretty late and we will be beat anyway. Then the next morning we want to pick up the rental car, drive to Wolfgang Puck's Express for breakfast :cloud9: :rotfl2: and then head south. This year we will buy sunpass, as we will be driving on toll roads a lot. ;)

So, this morning I get ready to book, Credit Card next to my laptop and I log onto Lufthansa and try to book and over night the rate has gone up 700€!! :scared1:
Um, no, this will have to wait - this is far more than I was willing to pay. So I thought I'd play with the Miami option again and low and behold it is a lot cheaper. I was still thinking about booking Miami, when I thought I would try Orlando one more time on this "other" booking window (one that offered different options). I could not believe it when the price I had seen the night before came up and I booked it in a flash! It was a lot cheaper than I had been willing to pay - so I was a pretty happy bunny!
Now, imagine my surprise when I tried to book the same flight later that day - no matter which booking window I tried the price had gone up - tonight it was 1060€ more expensive than this morning! :scared1:

But we have our "reasonable tickets" in hand and I checked out the Hyatt at the airport and it looks pretty good to me!

And I guess now that I have finished my DLRP trip report, it's time to start the planning for our February trip ..... so stay tuned! :thumbsup2

Yay for getting reasonably priced airfare. Its so difficult, isn't it? We would be staying in Florida an extra night, but the difference in airfare from Friday to Saturday just put the whole thing over the top. That is one advantage going in July has; we can fly pretty any day of the week...oh, and it isn't a holiday week, either. :rotfl:

Yes, yes you should! :goodvibes Can't wait to hear what you're got planned for February! Really do want to start my own PTR. It seems I'm better at those than I am at TRs. :lmao:

Those sandwiches from EOS look good, especially The Full Montague!

I had to fly in and out of CDG several times. I always encounter super long lines to check in (took 45 mins once :scared1:) but going through security is always a breeze. Go figure.

Plane ticket costs are so weird! That's crazy how the price fluctuates so much in one day, but I'm glad you got cheaper tickets. More money for WPE! :rotfl:

I loved your DLP reveiw. It is such a pretty place.

I know al labout the Disney computer sites. last weekend most of the Travel agent site was down. I could pull up any reservations of my clients (and of course I needed to), I couldn't quote anything and the cruiseline section would work at all either. What a pain. I had to call in a couple times to get things done...and I would mention every time the the site wasn't working...and they act like I am lying or totally ignore it. I mean wouldn't the first clue be that every agent is calling in for everything...but no...they don't get that.

They are still 1060€ higher today! :scared1: How lucky were we to snatch the flights at a "good" rate! :woohoo:
I think airfare here is different from yours anyway. And it is pretty expensive all year round. :rotfl2:

I guess I am going to start my pre-trip report soon. I cannot wait to really plan all the details, and then there is our summer vacation to plan! :thumbsup2

The EoS sandwiches were really nice. I loved the Original - even though I could have done with more horseradish. :lmao:

CDG is one of the airports that is notoriously bad, so is Frankfurt, mostly every time we fly in or out there is a delay. :sad2:
We usually go through security at one of the satellites and there are a gazillion flights leaving at about the same time and so there is always quite a wait to go through ;)
Abby, I had my mind set on a budget that I was willing to pay for the tickets, but what they charge now is WAY over. Given that I paid about 3000$ for the tickets and these ARE cheap tickets, I am pretty happy I snatched them when I did! :thumbsup2
And yes, you gave me the right idea, more money for WPE!!! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Great news about the flight !!!Looking forward to the February PTR!!!!

I am so happy that I have them set in stone now! It makes this trip so much more real! :thumbsup2
Pre-trip report is coming up shortly!

I am glad you liked my little trip report! Now, all Disney needs to do is Agent training there! ;)

They still haven't done anything to the site. I am about to give up and that's it. At least that way we won't have to hurry away from the Captain's reception and I tell you the food they served was pretty yummy!
I am not a huge fan of the pirate food, so we decided to just order room service and quite a lot of them, as in 6 cruises we have never ordered anything from them! :rotfl2:
Thank you Disney for helping me save money - I will happily hand it over to my fellow Austrian, Wolfgang Puck! :thumbsup2

Wonderful report on DLP! I really enjoyed seeing it and getting advice from you!

Now that you mention CDG, I'm glad we decided to go with round trip to London and just take the train back and forth to DLP. Hopefully Heathrow isn't bad!
Glad you got reasonable airfare. It's so strange how they set and change prices constantly!

Thank you!
Heathrow is HUGE, but rather manageable (as long as they do not open any new parts :rotfl2:). You will like it!
Airfare is something I just don't understand. ;) And then they squeeze you in like sardines :lmao:
Well, if it means I can go to WDW then I will manage! :goodvibes

Forgot to say how much I enjoyed your DLP TR!! I just love that place...not that I've ever been there, but it is soo pretty and looking forward to visit within the next couple of years. Your TR's take me there and that is the very next best thing! :goodvibes

p.s. On a personal note...we will be picking up our new furbaby this Saturday. It will be a 5 hour drive one way and we must turn around and come right back as we will be the transport for 4 other rescue doglets - they will be in 2 crates in the back of Mia's SUV. Hope everything goes smoothly - poor Sophia will be stuck in the car, without much opportunity for stops, for 10 hours. BUT here is who will come home with us...she spent the first 5 yrs of her life as a breeder in a puppy mill...that is all behind her now and she will now be MUCH loved!

Only one word comes to mind when I think of Heathrow - UGH. :rotfl: Much prefer Gatwick and would probably never fly into Heathrow again. LOVED the express train into London from Gatwick too. :thumbsup2

I Love the name:cloud9::love:!!How awesome that you are getting another dog !!How old is she , now , I know you said she was in a puppy mill for 5 years , so she has to be a least 6 !!!

Oops Karin! I seemed to have missed the rest of your DLRP trip - going back to read, but :banana::banana: for the airfare! Now on to February!:3dglasses

MinnieNana - cute furbaby, I'm happy for you and for the babies you are rescuing!

Thought you might like her name! When I asked Sophia what she would like to name our new doggie, she immediately Said, "Rosie". :goodvibes I added Grace in honor of my precious Gracie.

Rosie is approx 4 to 5 yrs old and was in a Mill all of that time until a month ago. I've heard she is very sweet and affectionate - these Mill survivors are amazing.

Sorry for the hijack, Karin!

Thanks for still reading, Christine! I did not have as much time as I would have loved for updating, but I am trying ..... ;)

You are the BEST for rescueing little Rosie Grace. She is so cute!
Little Sophia must be the best little girl ever for being stuck in a car for 10 hours! You train her well for trips to WDW! :lmao:

Only one word comes to mind when I think of Heathrow - UGH. :rotfl: Much prefer Gatwick and would probably never fly into Heathrow again. LOVED the express train into London from Gatwick too. :thumbsup2

I much more prefer Heathrow to Gatwick! :rotfl2: But then we had a long layover in Gatwick and NOTHING to do for hours - horrible! :scared1:
But I think the worst airport is Stanstead! Yikes, don't like it at all.

But you are here now, Tammie! And it took me so long to finish that one off.

I am pretty happy about the airfare. It is less than what I had planned and that makes me very happy - more money for Mickey! :thumbsup2

I knew that the Grace was in honour of your other furbaby. It's fun to hear that Sophia picked the name! :goodvibes

So happy you rescued here and you are welcome to "hijack" my trip report whenever you want! :thumbsup2

And finally ............

let's start planning our February trip!!!!!

Saturday, February 18

I guess I will spend the night at Tom’s as we will have to get up pretty early. We will have a very small snackish breakfast and head for the airport. Our flight will leave at 6.45am!

I am sure they will serve a snack for breakfast,

IMG_9455.jpg

but once we get to Frankfurt we will head towards one of the restaurants there and get some real breakfast.

We have a 5 hour layover, so there should be ample time to enjoy it.
I guess we will take our time and walk around the shops in the shopping area before we move over to our departure terminal.

At quarter to two will finally be on our way to Orlando.

We will arrive around 6pm and then it will take us quite a while until we get through security and pick up our rental car.
Then finally we will be on the way to Port Orleans Riverside.

We have booked one of their new Royal Guestrooms

and after we have checked in we will be happy to check out the room and take lots of photos.
Then it will be time to head out and get a bite to eat for dinner. Hm, I wonder where we will eat? Maybe we’ll try something “new” like Wolfgang Puck’s Express. :rotfl2:

We will also pick up some drinks at the Hess gas station opposite Downtown Disney or quickly head over to Publix.
I guess once dinner is eaten we will most likely watch a little TV and then drift off to sleep.
