HELP!!!!!! More Disney Dreams to fulfill! 09/04 Exciting news!

Again, I am loving the French desserts! That chocolate twist looks good and I absolutely love eclairs! I am hungry now.

Hi Teri!
You should have tried the caramel eclair - I have never had anything remotely like it! It was soooooooo good. I really hope they still have them next time we go to Paris ...... I could live of those! :rotfl2:

How neat that they have the option of French or English...good to know. Is the ride pretty similar there?

Hearing the ride in French would be fun! Just like listening to tv shows in a foreign language so strange!

When I buy a baguette at the grocery I'm tearing into it as soon as I get the groceries in the car!;)

The last 2 desserts looked amazing! I am not a big chocolate person, so anything with caramel or vanilla is right up my alley! I wish that there was a bakery like that at WDW.

MMM what a lovely breakfast! I would vote for the vanilla custard one:thumbsup2 How fun to give your CM a treat! :goodvibes

The food looks super yummy... the ride... super scary. :rotfl2:

The food WAS super yummy ....... the ride ........ not scary at all! ;) :lmao:
We went to the AP's preview a few years ago and did nothing but ride the ToT for two days. :rotfl2:
It's a fun ride! :thumbsup2

The usually have a French spiel and it is kinda "boring" if you don't understand what's going on (well, yes, Tom and I know what's happening ... :rotfl2:) but sometimes they will just be nice and do the English spiel.
The ride is a twin of the one they have in Anaheim. Means, that the elevator does not travel to the "drop shaft", it "sits" in the drop shaft, if that makes sense. Also, there is only 1 drop sequence, like it was in WDW in the beginning. Everything else is pretty much the same! ;)

It might be fun if you know what is going to happen, or know the story, but I think if I were a first timer I would love to know the story behind it.
Doris, I think you would LOVE their baguette. It is SOOOOOOOOOOO good! :cloud9:

I usually go for the coffee or chocolate eclair. So when they had the caramel one on display I thought long and hard (for about a split second :rotfl2:) before ordering one. I wasn't too sure about the vanilla one, but it was wonderful too - but the caramel eclair wins - hands down! ;)

I prefer that "in room" breakfast to any restaurant breakfast - it has become our tradition to have that kind of breakfast whenever we go to Paris. :thumbsup2

Storck (the company that runs the Karamell Kuche in Epcot) has a chocolate brand that's called "Merci" - so it is practically saying thank you! When we go to DLRP I always have some in my bag and hand them to an unexpecting CM - the look on their faces is just the best reward ever! :rotfl2:

A caramel eclair...YUM!

Yes, that puts you right on ...... :cloud9:

So does that mean it doesn't go through the hallway of scary stuff then

Those desserts looked amazing !!For sure I would choose the carmel eclair !! Of course a baquette would be very tempting too !!!

Aww that is so sweet giving the chocolate to the Bellhop, would love to have seen his face :)

You enter and it goes right up, then you meet those people who "disappeared" in the tower and it goes up further and drops you right away, no moving forward into the shaft. You leave through the same hallway you enter the elevator in.
It's just like in Disneyland. :thumbsup2

That bakery is just amazing and the things they produce are divine! I just LOVED that caramel eclair! :cloud9:

We were pleased that he turned the spiel to English and he was REALLY in character ..... does not happen all the time at DLRP, so he deserved a treat! ;)
His face ...... priceless!!!!!!!!

The most terrifying WDW attraction I've ever experienced!! :scared1: When I got off my heart was beating so hard thought for sure everyone could see it thumping in my chest!! Knees were shaking, hands shaking so bad I could not get the money out of my wallet to pay for the photo.

DD still thinks it is the funniest photo she has ever seen of me...everyone else looks like they are on a picnic and I am absolutely terrified! We went on the year it opened and would never go on again.

On a brighter note - I LOVE LOVE LOVR European Eclairs. Sooo good.

Update!!!

So, here is a little update. Today marks exactly 100 days until we go back to Disney, so tomorrow (which will be in about 90 minutes here!!!!) we'll hit the double digits! :woohoo:

And there is a little update on the cruise front too. ;)
Last Sunday marked the day 105 days out from our cruise, so being a Gold Castaway Club Member I was eagerly awaiting midnight (EST) to book my Palo reservations.
So I log on and had to fiddle around, as the site was sending me in loops again and finally I get to the booking site and it says, "Book now". So I open Palo on the desired day and it offers me 6 different times, lets me add the diners and then I hit "check availability" and NO, nothing available for my party size. I nearly fell off my chair, but there were several other times that were working for me, so I tried them all, nothing available. :scared1: So I tried a Spa treatment - nothing available.
In the run of Sunday I tried each and every option on their website - nothing available. So I was pretty sure, something was wrong with their site. I emailed them and got an answer the next day.
If I needed online support ...... call this number. So I did and I got the most unmagical CM ever. She was like ....... well, you are out of luck, everything booked, try again next cruise! :scared1: :sad2: I told her that I could not believe there wasn't even a single float left 104 days out and she just brushed me off. So I said thank you (for nothing ;)) and hung up.
I was truly considering not calling back and just give up on a reservation, but then about an hour later I tried again.
This time I was not on hold for 20 minutes, no after just 5 minutes a CM answered. She was sweet and helpful and when I explained everything to her, she said that she would ask back at her superviser if she could book it for me, since I had had so much trouble.
Superviser said yes, and she started booking. Guess what ...... she got the same result. Nothing available, whatever we tried, nothing available. She put me on hold again and went to talk to her superviser again.
Well, long story short, they discovered that something IS wrong with their website, and it might take as long as a week to correct whatever is wrong! I am still not happy about not being able to book, but I am proud of myself to have caught this first and told them about it! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

So, now whenever I have time I check their website, but so far nothing new! ;)

You know what's funny, Christine? Your answer to my post appears above the actual post! :rotfl2: Disney magic I guess! :rotfl2:

I just love the ToT ...... never scared me at all. I really enjoyed it much more when they still had the lapbars - far more airtime!
When they opened the ToT in Paris they had an Annual Passholder preview for two days and we did nothing else but ride it all day! It was fun .... and we handed out a few boxes of chocolates!

congrats on the double digits!

I can't believe that the cm was so unhelpful. "try to get a reservation next cruise" Good grief! What if this was your ONLY cruise. :headache: Glad you got it figure out though...and that soon enough you will be able to make that reservation.

How much fun can one fit into one day ......... - Part 2

You have to leave the ride through a gift shop, so we had a good look around before we left, but there was nothing we wanted to buy.
Then we walked halfway down to Rock'n'Rollercoaster, but decided against riding it. We had wanted to do Lights, Motors, Action, but since it was still raining we skipped it. We checked the tip board again and then decided to just change parks and walk over to Disneyland Park.
Once we had arrived at the park I remembered that one of the perks of the Annual Pass is, that you can leave packages at guest relations, free of charge. So we got in line and handed over our purchases, then took out our annual passes again and headed towards the turnstiles.
Finally inside the park Tom noticed that one of the rubbish bins was on fire. Nobody seemed to notice, so I headed over to the entrance and notified a CM, who immediately got two other CMs to guard the bin, while she called for help.
On our way up Main Street we walked through the shops again

and finally reached the tip board close to the hub.

We both didn't want to ride Space Mountain, which is fun but far too dark and we always bump our heads, which results in headaches. Instead we decided to head over to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad to have a look for which return time the Fast Passes were.
They were good for only an hour later, which was pretty nice, since the standby line was 60 minutes.
While we were waiting for our Fast Pass to kick in we walked towards the Adventure Isle and found that the false fassade they had put up around the pirate ship was actually really fun to look at.

Once we arrived at the Pirates of the Caribbean Ride we saw that there was only a 10 minute wait and got in line. Within a few minutes we were seated in the back row and off we went. We love riding past the Blue Lagoon Restaurant

IMG_3045.jpg

and the ride was enjoyable as always.

Once we got off, we walked through Fantasyland, but didn't find anything we wanted to ride and since it was about time for our Fastpass to kick in, we walked over towards Big Thunder Mountain Railroad again. We got in the Fastpass line and the ride was a real walk on.

IMG_3052.jpg

Tom asked if we could sit in the back of train and after a little pleading our wish was granted.

IMG_3053.jpg

It was a pretty fun ride, which was over far too soon.

congrats on the double digits!

1 more hour until double digits, I CANNOT wait! Once you hit the double digits, time seems to go by so much faster! :thumbsup2

I was pretty angry when I hung up with the first CM and I was tempted to pull up the online survey and let them know, but that second CM surely made up for it! She was a true sweetheart and had the right Disney spirit ....... I DID the phone survey to give the highest marks! :goodvibes

looks like POTC has a similar drop to DL. yes? that is one thing I miss I between DL and WDW... POTC is much better in DL:goodvibes
