Help! Leaving Wed - need special room request - how?

We leave Wednesday and will be taking my mother who injured her knee last week. She went to Dr today and got cortisone injection which may help (but may not) and received orders to take it easy...but it's Disney! We're staying at BCV and I want to request a room on the ground floor close to the Epcot entrance. I've never requested a room before - in the past I think it was ok to fax but I vaguely recall that being frowned upon. Any tips? I've honestly never cared much about my room - just happy as could be to be there - but want to make this trip as easy as I can on Mom. How do I make the room request?

You don't say what type of room you have, but here's the closest for each.
2BR- rooms 123 & 124
1BR- room 120
Studio- Room 122

You need to call MS.
The likelihood of getting that particular room are 1 in a 100, her's a few other first floor rooms that wouldn't be too bad either,

You may want to think about renting one of those little skooters for your stay, I know you can rent them from off site companies that will deliver them to your resort. The ones you rent in the parks have to be left there when you leave the park.
Perhaps someone will have the name of a rental company for you, sorry I don't.

If you are interested in the ECVs, post on the DisAbilities Board. You'll find lots of helpful info and tips there to make your Mom's visit more enjoyable.

I highly reccomend calling CARE and renting an ECV for your Mom. I had to do that once, and it saved the trip for me!
