Pal Mickey Instructions
Hey Mickey, Let’s Celebrate!
There’s lots to see and do during the Happiest Celebration on Earth, and PAL Mickey is the ultimate insider who will help you enjoy it all!
As you explore all 4 Walt Disney World Theme Parks, he’ll share helpful Park tips, fun facts, secrets, songs, and trivia. He’ll even help you find characters, remind you of show and parade times, and let you know when there are short waits at some of your favorite attractions. He even plays games with you, too!
Bring Pal Mickey home and the fun continues. He’ll keep you laughing with more funny jokes, trivia, and games at home and on the road.
Wanna Play in the Parks?
Playing with Pal Mickey at the Walt Disney World Resorts is really simple and fun. To get things started, make sure your Pal Mickey has been switched “on.” Turn him on by opening the zipper on his back and sliding the switch to the on position. Now you’ll want to carry Pal Mickey so he can see where he is going. You can clip him to you belt (facing forward) or carry him with a lanyard. That’s it! It’s time to have fun with your pal, Mickey Mouse.
When Pal Mickey Laughs
Mickey will giggle and shake when he has something important to tell you. Hold Pal Mickey next to your ear and squeeze his tummy or left hand (within 10 seconds) to hear what he has to say. Pal Mickey has over 700 different fun and helpful things to say while you explore the Parks.
Wanna Hear It Again?
While in one of the Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks, it’s really easy to have Mickey repeat what he just said. He’ll repeat it (up to 3 times) if you squeeze his gummy or left hand within 8 seconds.
Talk to me, Mickey…
Wherever you are with Pal Mickey, he’s always ready with a funny joke, trivia, or sing-alongs. Anytime you want Pal Mickey to talk, simply squeeze his tummy or left hand. Remember, he’ll repeat what he said if you squeeze his tummy or left hand again within 8 seconds while visiting one of the Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks.
Wanna see a special light show?
Pal Mickey carries a special celebration medallion in his right hand. Find a Happiest Celebration on Earth Glow Medallion, and then press Pal Mickey’s right hand. Watch the Glow Medallion react with a special light show.
Let’s Play a Game…
How to Start:
Squeeze one of Mickey’s hands and his tummy at the same time for at least 1 second. Release them and you will hear Mickey tell you the Game Menu.
Game Menu:
Tummy and Right Hand—
“That Isn’t Here” Game: Squeeze Mickey’s Left Hand
“Mickey Says” Game: Squeeze Mickey’s Tummy
“Fast Friends” Game: Squeeze Mickey’s Right Hand

Tummy and Left Hand—
“Follow Me” Game: Squeeze Mickey’s Left Hand
“Try ‘N’ Keep Up” Game: Squeeze Mickey’s Tummy
“Repeating Myself” Game: Squeeze Mickey’s Right Hand

Quick Starts:
You can always skip over Mickey’s Game Menu and go directly to the game you want to play by squeezing his left or right hand or his tummy. You can also interrupt Mickey’s game introductions to start the game right away by squeezing one of his hands or his tummy once you have played that game a few times.
Game 1—“That Isn’t Here”
Now you can test your Disney smarts! Mickey will say the name of one of the four Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks and then list places and things that are found in that Park. If the place or thing is in the park named by Mickey, squeeze one of Mickey’s hands to score one point. If the place or thing is not in that Park, then squeeze Mickey’s tummy. You will only have a few seconds to answer and you get less time as you go along!
This game includes all four Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks. If Mickey is in one of the four Theme Parks, then the game will be based on the park you’re in. If you are not in any of the parks, then Mickey will choose a park to test your smarts.
Scoring:
Scoring will be the same for games 1-6. You get 20 turns per game with 1 point for each correct answer for a possible high score of 20. Mickey will say the score at the end of every game.
Game 2—“Mickey Says”
Have you played Simon Says? Well then, this’ll be easy. Mickey might say “Squeeze my tummy,” and if he says “Mickey Says” before it, then you should do what he says to score a point. If Mickey doesn’t say “Mickey Says,” then you should do nothing, and wait for the next command. You will only have a few seconds to answer—and pay attention—Pal Mickey starts going faster and faster!
Play Again:
At the end of each game, you can squeeze Mickey’s tummy to play the same game again. You can also press either hand to go back to the game menu and select a different game. Or, you can squeeze BOTH hands for 1 second to stop playing the games.
Game 3—“Fast Friends”
Mickey’s going to say the names of some of his friends. Then, he’ll tell you which hand to squeeze in order to score a point when he says that name. For example, Mickey might say, “Squeeze my left hand when I say Goofy.” Then the game starts. Listen closely, Pal Mickey will change the directions and speed up as the game goes on.
Game 4—“Follow Me”
You’ll need to pay real close attention if you want to stay in this game. To start, Mickey will ask you to squeeze one of his hands or his tummy. Once you’ve followed along correctly, he’ll ask you to squeeze him the same way again and then add on a second instruction. As long as you continue to follow along correctly with Mickey each round, he’ll keep adding instructions to create longer sequences. Make a mistake and he’ll start from scratch again.
Game 5—“ Try ‘N’ Keep Up”
Think you’re pretty quick? Then try and keep up with Mickey during this game. Mickey will ask you to squeeze one of his hands or his tummy. Be sure to follow along, then listen closely. He’ll continue to ask you to squeeze one of his hands or his tummy, but as you do, he’ll give you less time in between to react. Follow along as fast as you can to score big!
Game 6—“Repeating Myself”
Think you can keep track of all Mickey’s “special friends”? Then this is the game for you! Mickey will name three of his “special friends” to start the game. As he continues to say names, it’s up to you to let Mickey know if he’s said that name already. When Mickey repeats a name he already has said, squeeze his tummy. For a faster game, squeeze one of Mickey’s hands when the name is not a repeat. Mickey will then move onto a new name without pausing.
Helpful Hints:
- When you’re ready to play, make sure the ON/OFF switch is turned “ON” – especially before you enter the Park!
- When visiting one of the Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks, Pal Mickey works best when attached to your belt with the clip, or worn on the carrying lanyard.
- When Pal Mickey giggles and shakes, remember to squeeze his hold him next to your ear and squeeze his tummy or left hand to listen.
- If you want Pal Mickey to repeat what he has just said, just squeeze his tummy or left hand within 8 seconds. Pal Mickey will repeat the phrase up to 3 times so everyone can hear. Pal Mickey will NOT repeat what he says while you are playing one of the games, or while outside the Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks.
- If Mickey stops talking or responding when you squeeze him, or if he shakes continuously, his batteries need to be replaced.
- When visiting the attractions at the Walt Disney World Resort, Pal Mickey will usually not speak during the shows.
- To conserve battery life when you return home from your Walt Disney World vacation, turn Pal Mickey “OFF.”
- DO NOT immerse Pal Mickey in water. If Pal Mickey becomes dirty, he can be cleaned with a damp cloth.
Use the clip or lanyard to keep Pal Mickey close by
1. Slide trap on back of Mickey’s head through the bottom part of the clip.
2. Remember to keep Mickey facing forward—he can easily be removed and replaced while keeping the clip attached to you.
3. Pal Mickey can also be worn on the included carrying lanyard.
4. Hold Pal Mickey next to your ear to hear all he has to say.
