My older DD was cutting the pug's nails and one of them is bleeding. Any advice on how to make it stop? Thanks.

put some flour on it....as a clotter

there is also a product called quik stop that does the same thing

There is a product called Qwik stop that you can purchase. In a pinch, a little talcum powder or zinc oxide cream will work!

That is too bad! We took our beagle to a groomer a year ago, and they cut her nail too short, but didn't tell me! I didn't notice until she was in my car leaving bloody paw prints all over my light grey interior.

We wrapped her foot in a towel and brought her to the vet, cause we didn't know what else to do. They used Qwik, and gave us some to take home. It really works!

I know it sounds funny but Cayenne pepper stops bleeding! :flower:

If not you have to get one of those sticks that men use when they cut themselves shaving.....
Styptic sticks available at petco for dogs and cats

Good luck!

Thanks all!! The flour did the trick. :flower:

That happened to one of our dogs recently, and the vet said that if the bleeding doesn't stop, putting the dog's nail in a bar of soap (preferably one with little perfume or dye) will clot the bleeding
